Wet Hot American Summer (Download): ROFLOL, so stupid and silly but so funny. Why haven't I discovered this sooner? It's already from 2001...

Keeping Up With the Joneses
I watched the first 40 minutes and didn't laugh once, ended up changing the channel.

From last night... The Life of David Gale - Kevin Spacey & Kate Winslet from 2003 - I don't remember having ever heard about it before, pretty decent although I guessed the final resolution before about 1/4 of the film had played through; thought I was wrong towards the very end but then it fell together as I'd imagined. Get Out - I'd heard good things (thankfully not story stuff) about this from a few people so picked up the BR along with 'Free Fire' (which I'm watching this morning when I finish nightshift) - Decent yo! Watched it again with the commentary straight away which for me is usually the sign of a good film but fell asleep just after halfway. I'm glad they went with the 'happy' ending although the original 'sad' one (changed in light of numerous recent events involving Blackmens Vs Cops) was still pretty good... although in it they actually have him kill the bitch... leaving her alive to spin lies about the "terrible awful negro" & ending up in jail would probably have been more realistic. Anyway, looking forward to 'Free Fire' this morning... Pew Pew!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows 3D (3D Bluray): I enjoy the live-action turtle movies. They're pretty dumb and over-the-top but they're amusing to me. I like their personalities. I watched the cartoons way back in the day but I never knew who was who in those (put names to the faces/colours), in these new movies I do. Anyway, I'm not going to defend the flicks, but I can't say I'm not entertained by them...
The Nice Guys (Bluray): So funny. Ryan Gosling is a good comedic actor, which isn't something you'd expect after seeing him in other movies. Reminds me I should have a look for Kiss Kiss Bang Bang on bluray.
Assault on Precinct 13 (Bluray): The remake, bluray cost me like €2, so I figured what the hell. Seen it a couple of times before. In many ways it's better than the original (like makes more sense for one) but by now this one almost looks more dated than the old one.
The Final Destination 4 3D (3D Bluray): Never seen it before in 3D. Didn't even know they released an actual stereoscopic 3D version. Back in the day all there was was some red/blue anaglyph release, which is just awful, so when I happened to stumble across this, I snagged it up immediately. Schlock like this needs to be seen as it was intended...
The Greasy Strangler (Bluray): I could feast on that queen's ass all night long...

Arrival(2016): I heard this is "one of the best sci-fi movies of all time" watched it last night and was pretty damn bored. Very meh.

Is it based on The Arrival from the 90's that had Charlie Sheen? I thought that one was alright.

There was a fair bit of fawning over it on this side of the pond; what I saw/heard didn't grab me though... maybe one for a 'Five for £30' HMV bluray offer if I ever see it and there's nothing else I want.

Shin Godzilla (Bluray): Whenever the US releases a Godzilla movie, the Japanese release on as well to show how it's done...
Immortel Ad Vitam 3D (3D Bluray): A conversion job of a formerly 2D movie that looked great at times but really jarring at others. During close-ups, they gave the eyes and mouth depth, which looked really unusual. I've never seen that done before. Anyway, didn't make the movie better or worse...
The Last Shift (Bluray): Police station haunted house horror that works pretty well. Ending is a bit dumb though.
Rubber (Bluray/Download): Finally got it on bluray, dumb disc manages to not work on either of my playstations so I still had to download it in HD. Gave the disc to a friend to test on some more machines, haven't gotten the results back yet.

Terraformars (Bluray): Silly Japanese live-action movie based on a manga. Only got it because apparently Takashi Miike directed it. Not that you can tell because it's nothing like his other work. It's about these people with insect powers having to fight mutated roaches on Mars. Did I mention it was silly because it really was, but enjoyable nonsense nonetheless...
Deathgasm (Bluray): Seem to remember not liking it all that much when I first saw it but bought it anyway and now I'm glad I did. Must've not been in the mood that first time because I really enjoyed it this time around.

Full Metal Jacket (Bluray): Feels like I'd only seen that pretty recently, but I bought the bluray so I had to watch that. And it's FMJ, you can never get enough FMJ.
Frailty (Bluray): Solid thriller by the late Bill Paxton, starring himself and the late Powers Boothe as well. Lot of dead people in this movie...
Tom Yum Goong 2 (Bluray): aka The Protector 2 aka Honour of the Dragon 2 aka Warrior King 2. Should've watched it in 3D but couldn't get it to work, so I settled for the 2D version. Afterwards I found the problem but I'd just watched the entire movie, so stay tuned for that. Movie was OK but no patch on the original or the original Ong Bak. When they're allowed to fight properly, the movie really improves but too often it's stunts for the sake of stunts and a convoluted assassination plot certainly doesn't help either. In short: not as good as I hoped but luckily not as bad as I had feared.
Yoga Hosers (TV): Probably the weakest Kevin Smith movie but still pretty easy to sit through if you like his work, especially once Ralph Garman shows up as the evil Nazi scientist. Silly fun nothing more, nothing less...
Wrong (Download): Mr Oizo's second movie isn't as good as his first (Rubber) but has enough weirdness to keep it entertaining but it is a lot slower paced, which isn't beneficial when you're already trying to stay awake.

The Defenders (Download): Pretty good. Even though it continues the 'The Hand' storyline, it isn't as obnoxious as it was in Iron Fist, even the Iron Fist isn't as obnoxious himself. He often gets made fun of by the other characters. Solid conclusion to the 5 seperate seasons and well worth watching them all, which I'm planning to do. Have Daredevil S1 and Jessica Jones S1 on bluray now and by the time I'm through those, I'm hoping Daredevil S2 has become cheaper and Luke Cage has made it to bluray. Still on the fence about buying Iron Fist though...

Dunkirk (IMAX): I finally got around to seeing this. I kept forgetting it was out. I ordered tickets online yesterday and I had the best seat in the house, right in the middle and back a couple rows. Solid flick. It isn't perfect. It has a beginning and middle and then its kinda over and we get the sentimental war speech. I would recommend it but its a solid 8 not a 10.

I doubt anyone will find this interesting but I lived 1 mile from Granite Mountain when all this went down. I drove my car as close as they would let me and took pics of the raging wildfire but all I had was my shitty cellphone at the time and the pics came out terribad. I had my shit packed and ready to drive to Phoenix if necessary. It was a real trip seeing this trailer in the theater since they are showing shots of the town I lived in

Fuck, I'd forgotten Paxton had died.
'Predator 2' tonight then.
Just reading about the new PredIV coming out next year... "Jake Busey as the son of Peter Keyes." - lol!
Might watch 'Free Fire' again too.
"Fuck off back to Austria!"

I just watched Idiocracy again and found an error.
At parts where it shows the White House, there's an above ground swimming pool full of what appears to be regular water. Considering they used the green sports drink for crops, livestock, car washes, water fountains and baby bottles, logically the pool should've been filled with that and not regular water.
I've lost count how many times I've seen this movie, it's one of my absolute favorites.

Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars (Bluray): New CG Starship Troopers movie that uses the same characters from the first CG movie (and the original movie, though only Rico (and Dizzy, don't ask) use the original actor's voices. I liked it. Wasn't anything special but it was a good little adventure. Nothing like the original though, but also nothing like the sequels. No complaints...

Hostel (Download) Hostel 2 (Download)
Have them both on DVD obviously but hadn't seen either in years. They hold up. I still think they're great. Plausible and well acted by the lot with some good gore and suitably fucked up moments. Might need to actively look for the blurays now.
The Night Watchmen (TV): Very low budget horror comedy that probably shouldn't have turned out as well as it did. Some night watchmen try to stay alive amidst an outbreak of zombie clown vampires. It looked cheap, but the jokes actually worked and the entire thing was surprisingly enjoyable...

What Happened to Monday? (Download): Netflix movie by the director of Dead Snow and Hansel & Gretel about a futuristic society that only allows couples to have a single child. Noomie Rapace plays 7 twin sisters that are named like the days of the week and are only allowed to go outside on the day of their name. So yeah, it's a high concept scifi movie but it wasn't bad, if you don't mind looking at Noomie Rapace's weird face because there's a lot of her, up to 7 at one time...
One False Move (Download): Solid cop flick that managed to surprise me. Wasn't as predictable as you'd imagine from the get go. Bill Paxton is great as the exitable redneck police chief that can't wait to see some action in his sleepy town.
Gun Woman (TV): Weirdest movie of the weekend by far. Looks incredibly cheap but stick with it and get surprised by all the gratuitous nudity and over-the-top performances and gore. Includes naked kung-fu...

Just clocked a full-frontal pic of her nude for the first time, not that impressed... or entirely convinced they weren't born a fella. 2/10 would not bang.

Twin Peaks - Season 3 (Download): So did a bit of a marathon this weekend. Restarted the series from the first episode and over 2 days caught up with the last episodes that aired last night. Loved the entire series but I just wish for once Lynch could've settled for a sensible ending (it looked to be heading that way for a long time) but ultimately he left it waaaay too open and confusing, which was a shame. I seriously loved it up to that final minute when I said out loud, right before the episode ended, 'please don't tell me that's how you're going to leave it'...
He did...
