I have found some nice stuff at the thrift store. Found a Saitek gamers keyboard once for $5 but it was missing some part, never could find it. It's a good keyboard but a few games don't seem to like it, has issue where it behaves as if a key is being pressed when it's not. There's a place called Half Price Books that I like a lot, they buy/sell PC and console games too. I bought a few good games there, also sold a few there. Very fair too, gave me $5 per and sold them for $10 (old games). One time I found a copy of Shadows of the Empire for N64 there which I'd been looking for, $10. Unfortunately they seem to have closed for business, really going to miss them.
Fortunately there's other HPB's still open, hopefully it stays that way.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (Download): Decent '80s throwback movie. Doesn't do anything special or surprising but also didn't really do anything too bad. It was enjoyable while it lasted but forgettable, like all the Beverly Hills Cop sequels. One thing I noticed however: I don't think Eddie Murphy can do his signature laugh anymore, it wasn't anywhere in the movie...

They could've probably gotten away with dubbing his laugh from the old recording lol. Been meaning to watch that one, probably will soon.
Sausage Party: Foodtopia - New show on Amazon, it's a sequel to Sausage Party and it seems like most of the original cast returned to voice their respective characters. The episodes are only around 20-25 minutes long each and there's only 8, will probably binge them all. Only seen the first episode but nothing to complain about yet, pretty much just more of the first movie so far.
*Edit* watched the whole series, the story goes way beyond the grocery store and is way raunchier than the movie was. Thought it was a funny show though.
{CLICK FOR SPOILER} The food items form a society but it quickly becomes corrupt. In the first episode, the food items end up outside and start having an orgy in the parking lot, but then it starts raining. Sadly a lot of the food items are dissolved/killed by the rain, only foods that resist water like meats/produce and canned/bottled/etc items were safe from it. There was also this funny joke I remember hearing, someone said "we have blind melons and smashed pumpkins."

Zoolander (Bluray): Whatever I was going to put on, I was going to fall asleep halfway through anyway, so I just went something funny I'd seen plenty of times (but hadn't seen in quite a while). Nodded off around the hour mark, watched the rest this morning. That Hansel is so hot right now...

Zoolander No.2 (Bluray): While not as good as the first, it is still a funny movie with a ton of hilarious nonsense. Don't know why I haven't watched it more.
Sausage Party (Bluray): Because of Coolverine's post, I went and looked for the series but before starting that, I decided to freshen up on the movie.
Family Guy - Seasons 20-21 (Download): Going through a lot of stuff that was sitting unwatched on my HDD, like the last couple of seasons of Family Guy, which I used to buy on DVD back in the day and then watch in 2 or 3 sessions, but that's no longer an option because 1. they don't come out on physical media anymore and 2. I can't stay awake for more than 1.5 episodes if I try to watch them before work. But vacation means building Lego while watching stuff.
Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell - Seasons 1-4 (Download): Funny live-action workplace comedy series that takes place in hell. 10 minute episodes filled with comedy. Glad I hung onto them.

Sausage Party: Foodtopia - Season 1 (Download): Came for the crass humor, stayed for the social commentary. They actually managed to say quite a bit about the state of humanity with these food allegories and not back down on the potty humor.
Starsky & Hutch (Bluray): After the last few movies I started to remember how much I liked these types of comedies and how long it's been since I'd seen any of them. 90-something minutes, entertaining throughout. Decided to rewatch a bunch of them.
Dodgeball (DVD/Download): Sadly I'm missing this one on bluray, which is a shame because it's probably one of the best ones, but even then I still can't force myself to pay €20+ for the bluray from some hoarder. Also seemed to have missed Rip Torn's passing away in 2019.
Exploding Kittens - Season 1 (Download): First few episodes of this animated series about god and Beelzebub being sent to earth as cats didn't exactly blow me away but it certainly grew on me as it went on.

In a Violent Nature (Download): Low budget slasher that does things different in that you are almost always following the killer around, often literally over the shoulder like a 3rd person video game. The few kills there are are pretty graphic and gruesome. The fact it was a different take on a tired genre is what kept me interested.
Arcadian (Download): Another lower budget horror, this time a creature feature with a kind of post-apocalyptic/quiet place kinda vibe. The dialogue is pretty bad but the monsters are worth sitting out the flick. They are freaky weird.
Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (Bluray): The classic.
Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (Bluray): Another well after the fact comedy sequel that does exactly the same as the first movie but lacks the charm and originality of the first (see also Zoolander 2)
Cult Massacre: One Day in Jonestown (Download): 3 episodes of pure insanity. I knew of the thing but I didn't know any specifics, so seeing it all unfold and seeing the scale of it all was pretty mesmerising. Compelling documentary series...

The Boy and the Heron (Download): I've seen most, if not all, Miyazaki movies but this one didn't quite do it for me. Sure, it all looks amazing in it hand-drawn 2D goodness but the story wasn't quite up to snuff I felt. It's basically another Alice in Wonderland type deal, but whereas in Spirited Away everything seemed to make sense, more stuff seems to come out of nowhere in this movie. Maybe it's just me, and I'll most likely watch it again at some point, but it probably won't quite make the best of list in this director's impressive oeuvre.
Foundation - Season 1 (Download): Season 2 already came out last year but I wanted to rewatch the first season first because it had already been a while and it wasn't what you'd call 'light entertainment'. I felt having the best knowledge of the complex things that were set up in the first season would be preferred going into season 2. But that meant finding 10 hours to first rewatch that first season and then another 10 for the second. That apparently took a year because I just caught up and am now ready to launch into season 2 of this impressive scifi series.
The Acolyte - Season 1 (Download): I wasn't a hater when this first started, but I can say they most certainly dropped the ball along the way and especially in the final episode which poses more questions than it answers. The first time I started to question this series was the flashback episode of what happened from the jedi's perspective. Those answers were already mostly unsatisfying but the final episode just stopped making sense altogether, with just about every character going against type, resolving nothing and throwing too many cliffhangers out there at the same time. A missed opportunity?

I Saw the TV Glow (Download): What did I just watch? Seriously, I want to know because I certainly don't have any clue. It's a bit like a '90s Gregg Araki movie, but with all the humor and energy taken out. Some weird shit happens but I don't know how or why, I'm lacking all context it seems to make any sense of this.
The Boys - Season 4 (Download): This concluded and even with all its craziness and the way it's trying to mock the state of the US today, it's not even coming close to reality... ...how insane is that? All the rest was more of the same, which is great and better than most.

The Watchers (Download): Creature Feature by M. Night Shyamalan's daughter that I liked well enough for about 80% of the movie. I could have done without the final part, the investigation mostly, the finale itself was OK. I just liked the atmosphere of the rest of the movie better and it didn't quite go the way I expected, meaning it was actually literally what was being said was going on, was ultimately what was going on.
The Truth vs Alex Jones (Download): Hard hitting documetary about a complete sleazebag being unable to accept defeat. The confessionals from the parents of the kids that died however were incredibly moving. I've said it before: why is it always the people that claim to want the truth are the least interested in it and can't stop lying?
The Bloody Hundreth (Download): Companion piece to Masters of the Air, with interviews with the actual people behind the characters of that show. Just like the Band of Brothers one was fascinating, so was this. The things these people went through...
Williams & Mansell: Red 5 (Download): Documentary about Nigel Mansell, an F1 driver from the '80s and early '90s and the car he used to become world champion. Interesting if you're into that stuff, which I am.
Tales of the Uncanny (Download): Documentary about anthology horror movies with a bunch of older and newer horror people talking about their favorite movies and segments. Except for the old ones, I pretty much saw all of the ones they talked about since I like these types of movies. Speaking of which...
V/H/S/94 (Bluray) V/H/S/85 (Bluray)
2 pretty succesful entries in the series with certainly more good than bad segments. Glad I managed to get them on bluray eventually, they were the only ones I was missing. Even better I found them in the UK, because they required quite a subtitles I would be able to understand.

Old School (Bluray): Probably my favorite of the Frat Pack movies and a recent addition to the bluray collection. This one I actually could still get for a reasonable price and it was worth it. Still one of the funniest movies.
Thanksgiving (Bluray): Eli Roth finally back in form after a few somewhat lacklustre outings.
and a few more documentaries:
Sly (Download): Surprisingly honest and emotional retrospective by the man himself, Sylvester Stallone, looking back on his successes and regrets.
I am Your Father (Download): Documentary about David Prowse, the man who played the physical form of Darth Vader. Apparently he never got the recognition he deserved from Lucasfilm for a myriad of reasons.

Loudermilk - Stars Ron Livingston as a former addict who has group sessions with other recovering addicts he helps, also he's a former music critic and writer. Will Sasso is also in it but I've never heard of most everyone else in it, thought it was a funny show with great characters. Looks like it only ran for 3 seasons but a 4th might happen.

Rudy! A Documusical (Download): Documentary with a twist about Rudy Guiliani, his rise to fame and descent into madness, with a piece of 9/11 footage I don't think I'd seen yet, of the first plane hitting, shot by some or other camera crew that was following firefighters when they were startled by the jet engines and the cameraman looking around for the source of the sound and happening to focus right on the Trade Center when the plane appeared. from behind some buildings. Another thing that struck me in this documentary is something I did mention before but which was very well illustrated in this particular piece: if you want to know what shady things someone is doing, just listen to what they accuse the other side of doing, lol. Without fault...
Tantura (Download): Very timely documentary, about genocidal atrocities perpetraded by Israeli soldiers against Palistinians, way back in 1948 and their eventual denial of it ever happening despite already having their 'confessions' on tape 20 years earlier. Someone even makes the comparison of what they were doing with wat happened to them only a few years earlier during WW2. Gripping documentary and one we'll no doubt see part 2 of in another 70 years time...

Lady in the Water (Download/DVD): Long time since I'd seen this one. Haven't managed to find it on bluray and even had some difficulties finding a decent downloadable version but surprisingly a 10 year old torrent with a single seed managed to complete in a decent amount of time. I've always liked this movie despite it being one of the most hated Shyamalan movies.
From Beyond the Grave (Download): Quite surprisingly one of the anthology movies that was considered one of the best from the '70s in that recent documentary I watched appeared as a torrent so I had to watch it. Pretty decent indeed but not really my style of horror. Glad I saw it but I won't need to see it again.
Cobweb (Bluray): Didn't remember anything about this movie when I ordered the bluray except for the title and the fact I liked it and even recommended it. Took a while before I knew where the story was going, also didn't remember Homelander was in this, so it was actually a nice surprise all over again.
Starve Acre (Download): Slow burn horror that's more like a drama with some murder but with a nice (fucked up) ending that made it worthwhile.
The Imaginary (Download): Colorful and goodlooking anime that nevertheless didn't really manage to grab me in the end but it certainly was worth watching it the once.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die (Download): A definite improvement over the previous one, which I didn't like at all. Everything seems to have been done better, the action, the comedy and the story. It is a bit of a shame they continue on from the previous movie with certain plot points and characters, all of which I'd completely forgotten about, but it all makes anough sense and most of all is entertaining throughout. Funny: they actually had fun with 'the slap', with Will Smith's character being on the receiving end this time around.
STEVE! (Martin)- A Documentary in 2 Pieces (Download): 3 hours+ may have been a tad too much about a person I can't say I've particulary cared about in at least 30 years but then I certainly wasn't aware of his career path either when I watched his movies way back when. First part is an overview of his career up to when he started doing movies and stopped doing comedy completely and second is him (and Martin Short) going over his movie career and preparing for a new stage show they're doing together. Both are quite amusing and obviously great friends...
Smiling Friends - Season 1-2: Stumbled on this by accident, it's another show from the Bushworld dude and it's exactly the same type of nonsense as his other shows, which are certainly funny enough to keep me interested. 14 11-minute episodes also isn't going to be any problem to get through...

Minecraft: The Story of Mojang (Download): I love these types of feelgood documentaries, Indie Game is another one, where talented people succeed in what they were trying to do and it changes the world in one way or another.
Crack Duck (Download): 6 5-minute episodes of a weird animated thing I just happened to come across.

Milli Vanilli (Download): Documentary about the rise and fall of this '80s phenomenon. Never knew the guy behind the band was the same guy that was behind Boney M, so you could say he had a modus operandi. Can't but feel sorry for the 2 guys that got basically exploited and started believing the lie. Good doc though.
The Contestant (Download): Documentary about a Japanese guy that wasn't aware he was being aired while taking part in a TV show that had him survive for over a year with just stuff he won from mailing in postcards from magazines contests. Went a lot longer and further than I ever thought. I had heard about this beforehand, back in the day, but never knew the scope. And then it all wraps up in a major way at the end... ...*spoiler*... The guy was from Fukushima...
Free Solo (Download): Rewatch of what may be one of the most tense movies ever made. Even if you know he made it, and you know beforehand, and even if I didn't, I'd seen this particular documentary before so there's no surprise at all, but that climb...

Grizzly Man (Download): Another rewatch. Funny thing is if it hadn't ended the way it ended, this documentary would never even have been made and we would have been deprived of Werner Herzog's fantastic narration, lol. Anyway, crazy story about a crazy guy that did manage to tempt fate for an incredible amount of time until he didn't.

Rebel Moon (Director's Cut) - Chapter 1: Chalice of Blood (Download): Almost an hour longer and definately more fleshed out, not that I remembered a lot of this movie but I did remember the robot character disappearing completely, which is no longer the case. The second half still feels a bit rushed, with lots of characters joining the party without too much pushback, but I certainly liked this version a lot more than the 'theatrical', especially the opening, which I don't think was in the first version at all. Addional gore was welcome too.
MaXXXine (Download): Chapter 3 in the X-saga, this time set in the '80s, which all that entails visually and auditory. I liked it better than Pearl but not as much as X.
Love Lies Bleeding (Download): Another A24 movie right afterwards, which I didn't know beforehand. Usually I tend to ignore movies with Love in the title, but I heard decent things about this one. Seems to be a bit all over the place but it was out there enough for me to easily make it to the end.

Rebel Moon (Director's Cut) - Chapter 2: Curse of Forgiveness (Download): Never saw the shorter version of this one. I didn't want to waste my time on it now knowing there would be a longer version eventually. I just held out, which worked out fine since I could now see them back to back in 2 days. So I also don't know what was added or changed but I'm guessing the long flashback sequences for every character might be. Those certainly went on long enough, but at least they weren't glory shots of harvesting grain, which took up most of the first 45 minutes and which I certainly would have liked to have seen trimmed down. Also: wouldn't it have been a good idea to put the grain at their ultimate location instead of first making the effort of placing it all on the different floors of the barn and then having to carry all that shit all over the town again? Just something that struck me as odd. Second half of this movie was all a huge battle scene that I couldn't but wonder just how much cooler it had been if it had indeed been the Star Wars movie it was supposed to be so all the vehicles and ships were Star Wars ones. The ships in this were weaksause. Star Wars aesthetics would have made this movie look so much cooler...
Midnight (Download): Blind buy to spread out shipping cost but quite a success. Korean flick in which a serial killer is hunting down a deaf girl (and her equally deaf mother) for most of the movie but they keep it fresh and exciting throughout, with a surprisingly effective ending. Good movie, good gamble...
I started watching another movie "Dark Forest", a Chinese action flick that isn't on imdb yet, but I gave up halfway through because it wasn't delivering and I couldn't be bothered to watch the rest of it.

Extreme Measures (Download): I thought I might have seen this before but now I don't think I ever did. What I am very familiar with however are a few lines of dialogue in the finale, which were sampled in a Velvet Acid Christ song and which I looked up to know what movie they were from. It's for that reason I thought I'd check out the movie when I came across it. That finale is the best part of the movie. It's a decent '90s thriller but the mystery is revealed to the audience way before the main character gets wind of it so while the ending is good, it's not much of a surprise.
Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds (Download): Surprisingly emotional Korean action flick that's like a cross between a superhero movie and a drama about death. A fallen firefighter has to go through 7 trials in the afterworld to see if his soul can be reincarnated and much about him and his family is revealed along the way and then there's also CGI monster battles and hellish/heavenly vistas. I really liked this one, which is good because I also already had the sequel lined up...
Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls (Download): Amusing horror with all kinds of neat practical creature effects and a nerdy neckbeard dude with very peculiar speaking patterns...
Fire & Ice (Download): I can't believe I never saw this one before. 'Classic' Ralph Bakshi sword and sorcery flick that looks way older than it actually is. I can't say it's very pretty to look at, but the rotoscoped animation does hold up, making all the movements really smooth. Non-character stuff however isn't that great. If you compare it to anime from that period, it comes of even weaker, especially backgrounds and destruction animations. All that being said, I certainly didn't mind watching it.
I also saw 2 short animations, one being the one I posted in the video thread, the Alien MONDAY one, which is fucking amazing. and a CG Warhammer one titled Broken Lance which isn't as good but it did expand the Warhammer universe for me, showcasing a part I'd never seen before. But I liked the story even though it's told very slowly (even for a short) and the occasional mecha action.

Kill (Download): Indian movie that's not Bollywood but rather a brutal action movie set almost entirely on a train. It came recommend to me and sat at 7.7 on imdb with something like 17K votes, which is quite substantial for a movie of this kind. 45 minutes in, I was kinda disappointed though, it wasn't nearly as insane as I was led to believe... ...but then the title (finally) appeared on screen and the movie took a quite a turn in the violence department and the following hour certainly made up for that first half.
The Umbrella Academy - Season 4 (Download): Can't say I remembered a lot of the previous seasons, it has been a while since 3 came out as well, but this season does a good job of telling you what you need to know and wrapping it all up nicely with a satisfying ending. More series should work towards an ending before they peter out...

Aqua Teen Hunger Force - Season 1 (Download): Never saw the series, just the movie, which I liked well enough but if you thought those didn't have much of a plot, judging by this first season that seems to be the norm, lol. They're seen doing all kinds of crazy heroic shit in the opening credits, but then in every episode they're just bumbling idiots, hanging around the house, annoying their neighbour, lol. Like 15 more seasons to go or something. I'll get there, eventually...

Le Pacte Des Loups (Bluray): I'm kinda glad I never managed to snag this movie on bluray earlier now that I have this 4K restoration Director's Cut. I didn't even know it existed yet. I kinda entered the title in an Amazon search being pretty sure they (the original bluray) would all be out of stock and only available for ridiculous prices secondhand, but there it was, in stock and affordable. Only found out it was a newly released (2023) edition when watching the movie. I would've been satisfied either way, but it was certainly a nice surprise. I love this movie, always have. It's the perfect blend of action, creature feature and historical drama, with plenty of slow-motion glory shots.
Twisters (Download): Fine. Basically a remake rather than a sequel. They certainly didn't go the nostalgia route. None of the original cast show up or are even mentioned. The only cameo is of the device with the sensor balls right at the beginning. Maybe it was on purpose because they didn't want to be yet another nostalgia flick or they couldn't get anyone (I mean, several people are already dead), but as a fan of the original, it certainly is somewhat of a disappointment. This movie was fine in itself, but it lacked the fun of the original and the cast wasn't as memorable.
We Are Zombies (Download): New movie by the French Canadian couple that did Turbo Kid and it's another gorefest with plenty of comedic beats. I certainly wasn't excited about watching a new low-budget zombie movie until I saw their names on it. The have a nice twist on the genre right from the start in that the zombies aren't violent but rather just there, unalive and mostly useless, depending on their state of decay, often just getting in the way. They're basically treated like the elderly, lol. Very amusing movie. Harmless fun.
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (Download): I had this poster on my teenage bedroom wall because it looked cool but I never actually did watch the movie itself so when it popped up I figured it was time to give it a go. '80s buddy movie that isn't particulary noteworthy in any way except maybe it's from the same guy that directed "Quigley Down Under" (which I rather like) and a classic from my youth "D.A.R.Y.L"... This movie isn't either of those. It's the kind of testosterone silliness you don't see a lot anymore, with OK-ish action and way too much silliness to take it seriously. I did like all the bad guys using Steyr Aug machineguns. A weapon not seen enough in movies...

Sneakers (Bluray): Blast from the past, but this early '90s hackers film holds up remarkably well. Great ensemble cast in an enjoyable heist-romp with plenty of humor and tension.
Abigail (Bluray): Another kind of heist turns horror in a hurry. I want to show this to the family without them knowing the twist (which sadly I already knew).
Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days (Download): The second in the series picks up right where the first left off in a movie that's nowhere near as good as the first. That being said, I did like the intertwined backstory of all the guardians, which is the main focus of the plot. In itself that would have made a pretty good movie, but because it follows the first, you can't help but compare the two and in that regard it is the weaker of the two.
Death's Game - Episodes 1-2 (Download): Korean series I've been holding onto for a while now, never really finding the time to start watching. Thematically very similar to the, also Korean, 'Along with the Gods' movies, it's about a guy that kills himself, which angers Death herself, punishing him by having to die 12 more times, as various other people about to die... ...unless he somehow can avert their deaths. Actually really good stuff, with a nice balance of comedy and drama: him having to find out whose body he's been transferred is always fun, especially when it happens mid-skydive for example. Watched only 2 episodes so far, 3 deaths in, but the rest is sure to follow soon because now I want to see what else they can come up with...

The Duel (Download): 2 friends decide to settle their relationship troubles with an old-fashioned duel, in Mexico, on the estate of a drug kingpin... Surprisingly funny movie with Joe Swanson as the antique dealer that sets things in motion (his voice is just too good) and plenty of amusing dialogue and situations. Imdb score went in freefall but I don't really get why.
Death's Game - Episodes 3-6 (Download): 2 more to go but this has all been worth it, with episode 4 being the strongest in the series so far. Emotional gutpunch amidst all the jokes and action. Episode 3 has these insanely filmed action sequences and 5 and 6 are defining a bad guy that somehow ties all the characters and their deaths together in a wonderful way. Last 2 episodes are the 2 shortest, but I can't wait to see how they're going to manage a satisfying conclusion...

They say Eli Roth (the director) is great at making horror type films, but not so much at making action type films. Also his movies tend to be R rated but they made Borderland PG-13, was reading it was because the studio wanted kids who enjoyed the games to also be able to watch the movie. Did they forget that Borderlands games are all M-rated?
