Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency - Season 2 (Download): More of the same yet completely different. I liked it a lot. No time travel this time but interdimensional shenanigans. Some neat new characters and good use for the old ones. Still crazy as all hell however, which is nice...

Dimension 404 - Season 1 (Download): 6-episode anthology series (from Hulu, I think) that's like a cross between the Twilight Zone and Black Mirror. Like all anthologies the episodes aren't all great, but I've seen a few good ones (episode 3 comes to mind, which is about time-travel, which, of course, is right up my alley). Check it out.

Wayne's World (DVD): With the kids, but I don't think they liked it as much as we all did in the '90s.

Black Mirror - Season 4 (Download): Great, great, great. Still remains the norm for all other anthology shows to try and beat. Better and more intelligent than the competition with barely any weak(er) episodes. The dating one was probably the weakest but even that was still pretty good.

Started watching Black Mirror on Netflix, had heard of it but didn't know what it was about.
I think it's very good, reminds me a lot of The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits.
When I started watching it, it started playing season 4 episode 1 first and that one was great. Started watching the first episode, it's not as good but still pretty interesting I guess. Can't say I've ever seen any kind of story like that, someone must've had a pretty twisted mind to think that up. Disturbing yet darkly humorous.

Star Wars - Episode VII - The Last Jedi (Theatre): Took the kid and went a second time myself. I still see the flaws but I cared even less about them this time. I just enjoy the movie, flaws and all. Have to say though, there were a lot of things that were more impressive in the 3D version compared to this 2D screening. All the stuff in space looked way cooler in 3D. Oh well, I was going to buy that version anyway, so...
The Lego Batman Movie (Bluray): Funny stuff. Watched with the kids, so 2D again even though I bought the 3D version (in a boxset with the standard Lego movie, also in 3D, which I already own, but it was cheaper getting it this way than buying it seperately, explain that one)...

I saw the "White Christmas" episode yeah that was crazy. That was the guy from Mad Men, and also that kid Noel from Shaun of the Dead, he looks completely different now.
I thought the episode where all those people get blackmailed over the internet was good too, was kind of expecting the twist ending though.

Legion - Season 1 (Bluray): Weird and crazy, so right up my alley. I wonder if they can keep this high level in a new season because, let's be honest, you can't be in the main character's head for another season (especially not after how this season ended), so there's a chance it'll lose some of its weird charm. But I'll certainly give it a chance...
Bright (Download): Apparently the critics didn't like this but I found it to be very engaging and a pretty neat concept to boot. I can only hope it finds its way to bluray, but being a flagship Netflix title, that may not be the case...

Blade Runner 2049 (Download): Was home alone for the first time in a long time so I could watch it with the surround on full blast. Those soundscapes Amazing fucking movie in every single way.

Future Man Josh Futturman, a janitor by day and a gamer by night, is recruited by mysterious visitors to travel through time to prevent the extinction of humanity. What, like The Last Starfighter? Lol, that was basically his question to the time travelers. Looks like a show made for slackers. Pretty funny raunchiness as well. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Future_Man_(TV_series)Hulu original series. Btw, Shut Eye with Jeffrey Donovan is good. A less violent Michael Weston who's tasked with hustling as a psychic for the Romani (and he helps out his clients). Then he has real visions ...

Watched that a few weeks ago, liked it a lot. I'm already a sucker for time travel crap and this was hilarious to boot... My favorite quote probably still is "What do you know about cooking?" "Remove the hair, eat the meat!"
Kong: Skull Island 3D (3D Bluray): So much fun. Just some big budget, big monster shenanigans and incredibly entertaining if you like that sort of thing, which I clearly do because I loved it once again and it's already the 3rd time I've seen this movie.

Battle Royal Directors Cut: Despite playing almost 1k hours of PUBG and seeing all of the Hunger Games movies I never actually watched this till tonight. I was worried it would be a cool idea with a terrible execution but it was a really entertaining movie. Shoulda watched it a long time ago.

I decided to check out "The End of the F***ing World" on Netflix, ended up binge watching it, was pretty good.
It was 100% on Rotten Tomatoes but now is at 96%.

Assassin's Creed 3D (3D Bluray): Still liked it but think I was more impressed the first time I saw it. It also has the longest credits ever. Feared at 115 minutes, it would be a bit too long to watch this afternoon, but it already ended at 100 and literally had 15 minutes of scrolling credits. No post credits sequences or anything, just credits, what the hell?

Jason Bourne (Bluray): More of the same, which is a shame because it isn't doing it for me anymore. It literally is exactly like the last 2 Bourne movies all over again. Bourne comes out of hiding because of some new info, gets chased, kills bad guy, disappears again. Not enough new or exiting things to keep the franchise alive imho. If I'd downloaded it first, I probably wouldn't have bought it afterwards. Don't get me wrong, it's a solid action movie, but as a fourth in a series of which you'd think most people that watch it already have seen the previous three, it just doesn't offer enough excitement...
Gerald's Game (Download): Starring uber-milf Carla Gugino, handcuffed to a bed after her husband suffered a stroke and lays dead on the floor. Interesting idea, no? I thought so too but I wasn't a big fan of the psychological turn it took right afterwards but it was interesting enough to keep watching, until the ending that is, when it goes completely off the rails with a final twist and consequent explanation literally nobody asked for.
Jigsaw (Download): Ok, I liked (most of) the Saw movies but I wasn't waiting for a new installment in that series at all. It had a good run with a satisfying (enough) conclusion so when this came along I just didn't care... ...until I noticed it was directed by the Spierig brothers that have always had a good angle on established horror lore (see: Undead or Daybreakers) so I became interested... Too bad here they just made another Saw movie, that looks, sounds and plays just like another Saw movie and not even one of the better ones. I was disappointed in just about everything: the traps, the gore, the story and even the final twist which didn't make very much sense to me. At least it's standalone enough to ignore.

Casino Royale (Bluray): Bought a Daniel Craig Bond box because it was cheap. Already had Skyfall (second hand) but hey, was still cheaper than buying the others separately, so why not. Especially wanted this one, which is probably my favorite (Haven't seen Spectre yet but since nobody liked that one, my hopes aren't very high).
Get the Girl (Bluray): Fun little crime/horror romp with a twist. From the guy that made Contracted. Bloody and entertaining.
The Beyond (Download): A 2017 low-budget scifi mockumentary about a wormhole opening up near the earth and a space agency exploring it. Thought it was pretty neat actually. Unexpectedly good.

I bought Spiderman Homecoming on Blu-ray and when I redeemed the code for the digital copy, it put it on something called MoviesAnywhere (usually the movies appear on Google Play when redeemed). After downloading the app for MoviesAnywhere on my phone and connecting with my Google account, it seems to have given me 2 free movies, Ghostbusters (2016) and Ice Age. Not really enthused about either one but still can't complain since they were free. Also after linking my Google account with MoviesAnywhere, the libraries between them are now shared, which I'm glad cause the MoviesAnywhere mobile app is much better than going through Google Play to watch something.
Hadn't seen yet Ghostbusters yet so watched it, not surprised they gave it for free.

Hadn't seen yet Ghostbusters yet so watched it, not surprised they gave it for free. Never ever will watch that one. Already made up my mind after that atrocious trailer. Plinkett review was the final nail in the coffin... Transformers: The Last Knight 3D (3D Bluray): It's a good thing I have a high tolerance level for this kind of crap because they're not making it easy to like this shit anymore. What a mess this was. Movie is all over the place, impossible to follow what the hell they're on about half of the time. Remember when this series first started and it was pretty cool and then the second was all kinds of crazy messy, well, this is even crazier.

Blade Runner 2049: I really wish I saw this in IMAX 3D as the soundtrack is amazing and it looks great. However as a film I didn't find it as good as the original. It feels very boxed in like they used tiny sets or something I dunno why. Decent 7/10 but nothing higher IMO. People were saying it didn't do well at the box office because people are sheep with no attention span but IMO its just because it wasn't as good as the first.

I read one review (before watching the movie) said that Ryan Gosling's acting was flat compared to Harrison Ford, and that's why it wasn't as good (something along those lines). But then I watched the movie and it's obvious why he acted the way he did... {CLICK FOR SPOILER} The replicant played by Gosling is a later version of replicants (compared to Ford/Deckard). He's engineered to be more obedient. Also, he's put through unusual psychological conditioning & routine psych testing. All of this resulting in a more subdued personality. To add insult to injury, he wasn't even given a real name, rather some letter & number designation as if he were merely a disposable product and not a living person.

Quantum of Solace (Bluray): Solid Bond flick that just doesn't stand out in any way. Nothing wrong with it, just not on the level of a Casino Royale or a Skyfall...

"The Fast and the Furious" franchise is another perfect example of what he's talking about. One of highest grossing movie franchises of all time and they keep making sequel after sequel (and spin-offs), but those movies aren't very good (imo).

A friend of mine wanted to go see Fast and Furious back in like 2010. I don't even remember if it was 4/5/6/7 or whatever. I was stone cold sober but I had difficulty even paying attention to what was happening on the screen. People talking. Drive cars. Shooting. Drive cars. Talking. Movie over.
