Crazy.
A twitter account that started tweeting #EndTheShutdown claims to be a conservative old man in Texas. They called someone a "semiflow" as an insult. That is very weird English so a twitter user who investigates extremists as her dayjob it did some digging. Turns out if you run that through google translate that actually is a Russian slang for a half-breed

I don't get that? Why does Russia care? What do they have to gain by that? Unless it's to prove a large portion of Americans are gullible idiots that care more about what some anonymous troll posts on the internet than scientific research... ...Well, I guess I answered it by asking the question...
In other news: people setting fire to cell phone towers over there yet? First one went up in Belgium over the weekend. About 2 dozen already went up in the UK because 5G is EEEEVVVVIIIILLLL!!! Fun fact: the tower they set on fire in Belgium didn't even have 5G infrastructure on it, lol. I also don't think they realise yet that destroying cell phone towers is eventually going to mean their phones won't work anymore, so who wins that game?

Russian Troll Farms work to spread dissent and conflict in other countries. People have known about this since at least the mid 2000s. Way before Trump came on the scene as anything more then a reality TV host. However now it is a partisan thing and even acknowledging troll farms exist is seen as a "leftist" position. Here in the US right wing talk radio show hosts have even said these troll farms don't exist. Thankfully no burnt up cell towers in East Coast USA yet.

China has the govt/state run troll farms as well. Also, they have hundreds (if not thousands) of cyber-warfare personnel/hackers attempting to infiltrate western govt's intelligence data daily. Actually, it was during the Obama presidency that they successfully hacked govt computers and acquired info on our undercover agents, which led to the assassination of dozens of them around the world. It might have even been top secret info contained in the emails that Hillary lost. They didn't reveal exactly how the leak occurred, just that it did. If an incident like this were to happen under a Republican president, it would be front page news and more people would know about it.

Punching people in the face isn't all they've done. They've stormed the Portland mayor's office in violent rage and making threats of violence, blocked traffic, assaulted elderly people (just for being old boomers?). I'm of the opinion that people shouldn't try to rationalize or underplay any sort of violence. That's a slippery slope because it opens the door to escalation and retaliation.

Most churches out there have stopped normal services and gone completely to livestreaming, those that are still having big gatherings are not being wise. I think the outbreak in New Orleans is also due to church services there still going on like normal, not to mention the spring breakers who also didn't listen. Sadly many members of my extended family are big Trump supporters and they have bought into the idiotic "Christianity is persecuted in America" narrative. I had no idea this was the case till I moved across the country to the same city. They are already saying on facebook "The churches should close voluntarily but the government shouldn't force them" because like small government or something. They aren't very bright. I asked my cousin "Should the government ever have the right to close anything?" So far I haven't heard back. According to one of my family members we basically live in the Soviet Union now. At one point the Soviet Union was rounding up church leaders and executing them and destroying churches. They think coronavirus lockdown is like that. In the last 10 years this is all I have seen Christianity accomplish in the USA: 1)Spend millions of dollars protesting gay marriage despite the massive amount of Christians who say they want "small government" and the amount of homeless people and struggling families they could have helped with the money 2)Fight better birth control and abortion rights. Even tho those things lead to less poverty, crime, welfare, etc. 3)85%+ of Evangelicals voted for Trump a lying narcissistic playboy who hasn't shown even the most passing interest in Christianity after saying Bill Clinton was unfit to serve due to his morals. 4)Protest for their silly right to have services in the middle of a fucking pandemic and turn it into a political thing again. I'm trying to guess what their next move is going to be. I dunno, start a nuclear war? Just for fun? It wouldn't surprise me. I can't speak for others, but the church I go to (non denominational) did listen to the local government and closed. As far as I know, they weren't forced to but did so voluntarily to protect people. I don't know how it is in other places, but here the churches are a big part of the communities and contribute a lot, they've provided food and other essentials to over 1,000,000 people since all of this started, also before all this they donated $2,000,000 to pay off medical debts for lots of people locally. Something that also surprised me is that even the Jehovah's Witnesses (which I know a few people who are) have stopped doing their normal thing and gone to livestreaming only. That group is known for being extremely fundamentalist and not listening to governments too.
As far as Trump goes, I don't know why so many evangelicals out there are so supportive of him and think of him as some kind of messianic figure, the church I go to doesn't think like that and I certainly don't. I was listening to him live on TV when he was suggesting injecting disinfectants into the body and/or blasting the body with UV light, even Fox News headlined an article as saying that calls to poison control centers spiked following him saying that stuff.

It's not all that surprising tho. Most Christians are pretend Christians, much like Trump is a pretend conservative (he might think he is, or he's playing poker... it's reported that he read some other politician's book about how to win over middle America and win elections, then he followed that playbook to a T). lol

Every president has death threats. Not sure how common that happens with presidential nominees (probably fairly common as well, though not as common, I'm guessing). Lots of crazy people out there.

I was just remembering when that story came out about how Trump had supposedly asked about dropping a nuclear bomb into a hurricane, and that everyone in the room was speechless. Now Trump is asking about injecting disinfectants and exposing the inside of the human body to UV light, I think it's very likely he really did ask about dropping nukes in hurricanes.

Now Trump is asking about injecting disinfectants and exposing the inside of the human body to UV light, I think it's very likely he really did ask about dropping nukes in hurricanes. He followed up by saying it was sarcasm. Even if it was sarcasm, it shows how out of touch and lacking in people skills he is. It's not unusual for sheltered elites to say goofy things though. Hillary gave goofy, sarcastic answers when asked tough questions. Obama sometimes gave sarcastic responses too. However, Obama had enough charisma that you could tell when he was joking. abcnews.go.com/Politics/hillary-clinton-jokes-wiping-email-server-cloth/story?id=33165517Top secret intelligence leaks are no laughing matter either. But there you have it. A Democrat making tasteless jokes. See, that's why I believe it's an out of touch elitist thing. i.e. "I'm up on a pedestal, so I can say or do what I damn well please" attitude.

According to the WHO, Ebola has an average 50% mortality rate, even greater than the dreaded small pox or spanish flu. The main reason Ebola hasn't been a catastrophe (well, in 1st world countries with modern utilities infrastructure and relatively clean water) is that it hasn't gone airborne (yet).

The actual controversy regarding social media and free speech is when they censor/delete content that they disagree with for petty (non-legality) reasons or they get butt-hurt when they hear it (yet, doesn't break any laws), such as your example about Youtube deleting any videos and/or comments that even mention the word anorexia. YouTube doesn't delete anything with anorexia in it. It just demonetizes it as to not be promoting pro-ana stuff. In the last 2 years I heard from Republicans with Net Neutrality the government has no right at all to tell ISPs what to do because of "small government" and "free enterprise". I have also heard with Coronavirus lockdown the government has absolutely no right to tell the churches to close down as that is tyrany. Now because Twitter is fact checking Trump, not deleting his tweets, not censoring him in anyway, just fact checking Trump all the sudden the government has all these rights to tell private companies what to do. It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad.
