Of course, it's a strategic military move letting the Turks have their way, since the U.S. relies heavily on Turkish air bases. Situations like this, having to turn our back on one ally to appease another ally, is another reason military involvement should be a last resort and defensive only.
I was on another now long dead forum from 1997-2003 and I watched them spend years criticizing Bill Clinton for making the military "the policemen of the world" and saying "US troops should only be used when we are attacked Pearl Harbor style".
Fast forward to Dubya being in the White House and gearing up for the war in Iraq. I posted quotes from US military people saying the war was a big mistake and was promptly told those people were "fucking faggots" and "pussies"

Interesting what a difference a few years makes.
I worked in a call center while that was going on and got to speak with soldiers, some of them by satellite phone while they were stationed in Iraq. I asked one what if the WMD's were a lie and we're fighting for the wrong reasons. He said he hoped not because, if so, they'd be fighting in vain. A lot of has to do with morale also. The environment & climate over there was depressing enough. Oh yeah, that guy was cussing a lot, but not in anger. His tone was cool, so I knew. He apologized and said that's just how military guys talk to each other.
Dubya campaigned on the U.S. not being policemen of the world. He lied and I didn't vote for him a 2nd time. The Bush's and Clinton's had similar policies on most issues, other than a few social issues. Their families are good friends in real life. lol
I'm getting the strong feeling it's another 4 years of trump. How on Earth the DNC didn't take the last four years to build a credible candidate up that could speak to the nation, I'll have no idea. It wouldn't have been hard to find someone who would easily take the presidency, and instead we're left with two old out of touch rich fucks that could care less about the people who are forced to vote for them.

The DNC and whoever's pulling strings from the shadows want Biden because he's easy to control. It's about maintaining the status quo and continue funneling resources in the direction they desire.
January 22: Trump on Coronavirus “We have it totally under control”!
January 24: Trump on Coronavirus “It will all work out well”!
January 30: Trump on Coronavirus “We have it very well under control, and I think its going to have a very good ending. So that I can assure you”!
February 2: Trump on Coronavirus “Well, we pretty much shut it down coming in from China, but we did shut it down!” No clue whatsoever of the severity of what’s coming.
February 10: On Fox News Trump says without evidence that the coronavirus "dies with the hotter weather” "You know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat
February 24: Trump tweeted another baselessly claims: "The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA.”
February 25: Trump falsely claims : you may ask about the coronavirus, which is very well under control in our country. We have very few people with it, and the people that have it are … getting better. They’re ALL getting better! Obviously he doesn’t care for those who died from it. (Like captured soldiers)
February 26: Trump wrongly says the coronavirus "is a flu"
February 26: Trump baselessly predicts the number of US cases is "going very substantially down" to "close to zero”
February 26: Trump wrongly says the flu death rate is "much higher" than Dr. Sanjay Gupta said. Coronavirus has 10X death rate compared to flu. If 60K die from flu then 600K will die from Coronavirus!
February 27: Trump baselessly said: "It's going to disappear. One day -- it's like a miracle -- it will disappear.
February 28: Trump said at a rally: Coronavirus is a democratic” Hoax”. No, it was a warning he did not listen to as usual. It’s always all about him.
March 2: Trump falsely claims "nobody knew" the number of US flu deaths, nope he’s the only one that doesn’t know as usual.
March 2: Trump says a vaccine is coming "relatively soon” Trump did not mention that CDC had told him earlier that day that a vaccine was "a year to a year and a half" away.
March 5: Trump wrongly claims the virus only hit the US "three weeks ago” Trump was informed of a confirmed case on January 21(6 weeks prior). He lied.
March 5: World Health Organization (WHO) based on data collected around the world stated the global mortality rate for coronavirus at 3.4%. Trump says :”I think the 3.4 % is really a false number, this is just my “Hunch”! (Hunch over Facts in Trumps world)
March 6: As the number of cases and deaths in Italy rises, Trump says “I hear the numbers getting much better in Italy” Another Lie.
March 6: Trump falsely claims anybody can get tested if they want. That wasn't true. There were an insufficient number of tests available, as Pence said the day prior, and Americans could not get tested simply because they wanted to get tested. "You may not get a test unless a doctor or public health official prescribes a test,"
March 6: Trump baselessly muses that "maybe" the coronavirus improved US jobs numbers, Trump never thinks in terms of people and families losing lives… just numbers to boost his ego.
March 11: Trump TV speech wrongly states Insurance companies will pay for patients Coronavirus treatment. Next day Insurance Coalition corrected Trump and said they will pay ONLY for Co-payments ,NOT Treatment. Big Difference!
March 11: Trump TV speech wrongly states his Travel Ban to Europe will “apply to the tremendous amount of trade and large”. Next day white House Officials corrected Trump misinformation and said” Travel ban will NOT include trade!”. Trumps can’t even read a Teleprompter correctly.
March 11: Trump’s Ban to Europe does NOT include Britain and Scotland, were there are more confirmed coronavirus cases than in some European countries. Trump owns Golf Resorts in Britain and Scotland, I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.
It could be Darwin (weak immune system due to genetics) or poor health. Poor cardiovascular health appears to affect survivability, because I've read about a few cases where ppl w/ C-19 died of cardiac arrest.
There could be other factors that contributed to his initial exposure to C-10. Of course, these are unknowns, but we can speculate...
Greed - telling his flock everything's going to fine, to persuade them to continue showing up every Sunday and pay tithes. One or more of his flock infected with C-19 shows up and passes the virus on to him. Sloth - poor diet and lack of exercise, contributing to poor cardio health, making him more vulnerable to infections. Pride/arrogance - Thinking that he knows better than health professionals. Or that he's "without sin" so God always has his back (divine protection). Then not following the proper social distancing, hand washing, etc. because he's so deluded by his BS.

The claim: The coronavirus outbreak in the United States is the result of a coordinated effort against President Donald Trump.
In a March 10 episode of the podcast “The NutriMedical Report,” commentator Josh Bernstein claimed the spread of COVID-19 in the United States was the result of a conspiracy between the Democratic Party and Chinese government.
“I believe that because Russia didn’t work, and Ukraine didn’t work, and impeachment didn’t work, they are so hell-bent on destroying this country (and) this president to gain back power that they probably worked with the Chinese government, and they devised this plan,” Bernstein said.
...
During the episode, Bernstein also claimed Democrats and the Chinese government used the “medical deep state” to spread the virus among the American public to “scare the living daylights out of everybody to shut down the economy, to shut down the markets and to stop the Trump rallies.”
The view that political opponents of Trump are using the coronavirus pandemic for partisan ends has been echoed elsewhere in the media as well as by the president and his allies. The explicit claim that Democratic Party officials conspired with a foreign government – specifically, Beijing – to engineer a pandemic for political gain is, however, not supported by any available facts.
Most churches out there have stopped normal services and gone completely to livestreaming, those that are still having big gatherings are not being wise. I think the outbreak in New Orleans is also due to church services there still going on like normal, not to mention the spring breakers who also didn't listen.

Sadly many members of my extended family are big Trump supporters and they have bought into the idiotic "Christianity is persecuted in America" narrative. I had no idea this was the case till I moved across the country to the same city.
They are already saying on facebook "The churches should close voluntarily but the government shouldn't force them" because like small government or something. They aren't very bright.
I asked my cousin "Should the government ever have the right to close anything?" So far I haven't heard back.
According to one of my family members we basically live in the Soviet Union now. At one point the Soviet Union was rounding up church leaders and executing them and destroying churches. They think coronavirus lockdown is like that.
In the last 10 years this is all I have seen Christianity accomplish in the USA:
1)Spend millions of dollars protesting gay marriage despite the massive amount of Christians who say they want "small government" and the amount of homeless people and struggling families they could have helped with the money
2)Fight better birth control and abortion rights. Even tho those things lead to less poverty, crime, welfare, etc.
3)85%+ of Evangelicals voted for Trump a lying narcissistic playboy who hasn't shown even the most passing interest in Christianity after saying Bill Clinton was unfit to serve due to his morals.
4)Protest for their silly right to have services in the middle of a fucking pandemic and turn it into a political thing again.
I'm trying to guess what their next move is going to be. I dunno, start a nuclear war? Just for fun? It wouldn't surprise me.
To me there's nothing scarier than a religious fundamentalist. Once you remove common sense and replace it with 'god said so' it's basically over...
Having seen plenty of stuff about hardcore American christians, they scare me just as much as any muslim fundamentalist. They're the ones being singled out lately, but I see no difference between them and orthodox jews for example. Their beliefs are also crazy scary and extremely sketchy. Hindus too, if you go hardcore enough, they're all brainwashed to the point of just being scary...

Dallas is full of people from many religious backgrounds... Christians, Hindus, Muslims, etc. It has the fastest growing population and it's probably the city with the largest immigrant population in the U.S. There are a number of mosques in the Dallas area. Yet, not many people going about committing acts of violence in the name of their religions. No Muslim no-go zones or religious affiliated street gangs, unlike some of your cities in the EU. My theory is that the state & local govt's in bible belt states disregard the PC touchy-feelz garbage (identity politics) and aren't afraid to give equal punishment to anyone violating the law. Including physical... for instance, if you were to go out waving guns in public areas in these Jesus states, the cops would likely cap your ass (regardless of race, gender, religion). Therefore, religious nutters tend not to go out and try stupid shit in these areas, unless they have a death wish.

At any rate, Communism still holds 1st place (by a long shot) for the most deaths (out of any ideology) and that won't be changing any time soon. Get over it.

I appreciate the push-back though. I read more on these topics and learn (or re-learn) some very interesting things. For instance, I totally forgot that Lee Harvey Oswald was a Marxist.
Also, Texas and Tennessee (a state where I used to live and a state I live in now), both scary red b'Jebus states (oooooh!), have tighter gun control laws than many of the blue/r states. States such as Oregon, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Maryland, Delaware, Maine allow open carry (of firearms) without a permit. That's crazy! Then you have deep red Florida not allowing open carry at all (ironically, it's the state with the highest or one of the highest crime rates). I've said it before (about other similar bias/nonsense) and I'll say it again... where is the media reporting on this? hah.
I believe some of the chart is dated though, because I read that Washington no longer allows open carry throughout the entire state without permit (depends on the local jurisdiction?) or something along those lines..

Claiming victory because "Antifa" didn't show up. It seems everything involving direct action from the right these days is justified by opposing "Antifa". Is there anything this "Antifa" CAN'T do...
