I've just been making a brew in the breakroom and heard a newsreader say that Trump has claimed The Media are "poisoning peoples minds" against him... he's 100% correct... in that they're reporting the retarded/heinous things that he says and does.
The fact he's gotten where he is and has the level of support he does is frankly fucking sad... as Tom Hanks said recently:

My thought process: Oh the only candidate that the Democrats could find in hopes to beat a reality show TV celebrity failed miserably. Maybe this is just the wakeup call they need to get their shit in order and platform on relevant topics. "Trump is a racist KKK anti-human orange oompa loompa!" Hillary is an extremely unpopular person. She has non of Bill's charm and likability. The dems should have run a full field of candidates not just her vs Sanders. To beat a populist you need another populist. The dems should have rallied behind Sanders and his old man rage - that resonated with the people more than Hillary's collection of pantsuits. When it comes to elections policies don't matter, only charisma. |

One can only hope they get their shit together. It's not healthy to let an extreme portion of one party make all of the decisions without any checks and balances. Most of the topics being discussed across the country are quite relevant, though. Our President is blocking entry for those fleeing terrorism, wanting to block entry based on religion, selecting a supreme court justice based solely on whether they think abortion should be illegal, building another wall (segments where possible) and making us pay for it, not understanding that a tariff on Mexican products mean US taxpayers would be paying for his wall twice, insulting other heads of state via Twitter, insulting anyone he doesn't agree with on Twitter, picking many cabinet members who are unqualified or have ties to extreme conspiracy or white nationalist organizations (Rick Perry had no idea his job involved the nuclear program.), believing climate change is a conspiracy, buying into the anti-vaccine autism bullshit, having many conflicts of interest around the world, ruling on the DAPL which he has financial investment in, being able to pick and choose which news organizations are legit based on who writes good things about him. The guy is incredibly ignorant and behaves like an eighth grader. He can't talk to anyone without reminding them how many people like him, and how it's not fair that everyone criticizes him. He can't help but lie every other sentence. He throws tantrums whenever he doesn't get his way. After stating he knows way more than any of our intelligence agencies, he met with the CIA, and told them maybe we'll have another opportunity to invade Iraq and finally take their oil, then reminded them how bad the media is. I could go on, but surely you can understand the outrage? |
