That is impressive (actually watched the whole thing) but I got to thinking, a clever enough thief could probably find that blue wire that is not like the others and bypass it if they really wanted to. Still is impressive though.

I could never drive around with that in my car if I did the work myself. I would be too paranoid that my own work wasn't good enough and I would end up dead in the water on the side of the road somewhere.

Still is impressive though. True, it's not full proof. It's just an added layer of security. Seems like it could still be effective at deterring thieves tho... Because when the kill switch is active, the alternator still turns over. That's probably enough to fool most thieves into thinking something's wrong with the car (maintenance issue), in which case they won't even bother to check the wiring and instead move on to the next target.

If you're in the boonies, I wouldn't trust the wiring method he used regardless of who did the work. Using those spade connectors and crimping the wire, the vibration of the car running (over time) might eventually cause one of the wires to come loose. Perhaps unlikely, but it's very possible. Twisting, crimping, and soldering the wiring (and still use the heat shrink) is the more reliable method.

True enough, most all thieves won't even bother with it. I put a hose clamp on my truck's tailgate so it can't be lifted out easily and it's never been stolen. Truck tailgates are one of the most-stolen things out there when it comes to vehicles, very easy to unlatch it and lift it out in just seconds.

Back in the day one of my friends put two really nice 15" subs in his truck, he actually had them bolted to the frame from under the truck so you couldn't just snatch them.
He went into a friends house to hang and was there for less then an hour, when he came out he saw his window broken and pry marks all over the sub case. They couldn't pry them out so they just stabbed the woofers a bunch. Buncha savages.
I used to have a 12" in my old SUV but I get too paranoid going to movies and such I won't do it anymore.

I've thought about getting subs, my truck's double cab and there's some storage space behind the rear seats that can be gutted to accommodate something like this: www.ebay.com/itm/2005-2011-Toyota-Tacoma-Double-Cab-10-x-2-Sealed-Subwoofer-Box-/191274960780Next thing I get will probably be a brushguard and foglights though, the stock sound system is decent enough. Sounds even better now that they've added Dolby Atmos to the Galaxy S8, Spotify sounds great with it enabled over Bluetooth.
