^Oh yeah they gave away CoH 2 for free on Steam a while back, I think a lot of people grabbed it then.
The first CoH still remains my favorite RTS of all-time, the original campaign is top-notch but the campaigns from the expansions were kinda middling, the last British mission was especially tedious and boring. Tiger Ace was an awesome campaign though.

Last night before bed I decided to see how the original GLQuake from 1996 would run. It comes with the Quake remaster. Clicked on it, saw the logo popup.....the my fans went full blast, then my mouse got super laggy.
Let it set like that for over a minute. Ctrl+alt+del not working. Had to hit the reset button. First time I've hit the reset button on my new PC.
Yeah......gonna have to figure out how to fix that if I want to benchmark it.
Somewhere I have a chart of how GLQuake runs on different computers I upgraded over the years. I can't remember many specific scores off the top of my head, but I do remember on my Pentium 100 the OG software engine getting 13.5 FPS in a timedemo at 320x200 I think. a 3dfx Voodoo 1 got 25 fps at 640x480 with the same CPU.
I will need to track down the file with all that info at some point.

I am enjoying Jedi Survivor, the graphics are outstanding and the gameplay is fun, just like the first game. Also there have been a lot of people complaining about the performance but it runs great on my system. Could help that I have 32 gigs of RAM instead of 16, this is one of the biggest games I have ever seen. Seems like what people are complaining mostly about are microstutters, I have noticed the framerate drops while a new area is loading in real-time, but it doesn't last long and the framerate goes back up. Been playing for about 6 hours now and have no complaints about the performance yet.
Also reportedly this game runs better on CPU's with bigger caches, which I think my CPU has.
*edit* lol was remembering when I almost broke my Ryzen 7 3800X, with AMD socket CPU's they can be pulled out of the socket if care isn't taken, because the thermal paste forms a seal. isn't a problem for Intel CPU's because they are secured down with that bracket, AMD CPU's didn't have that until their newer CPU's. Been thinking about getting a Ryzen 7 5800X3D before it's too late.
Didn't think it would ever happen to me but it did, the trick is to twist the CPU cooler back and forth gently until the seal breaks, then remove it. Must've spent hours making sure all the pins were straight again, thankfully none broke off.

Holy shit I'm glad I did NOT buy Dragons Dogma 2, people are going nuts. You have to pay for DLC just to change your characters voice or make a new character.

Holy shit I'm glad I did NOT buy Dragons Dogma 2, people are going nuts. You have to pay for DLC just to change your characters voice or make a new character. I know it sucks, but they do the DLC and monetization shit because it's fucking expensive to make a AAA game these days. You could say, well, it's Capcom and they can afford to eat the costs. But at the end of the day, their goal is to make money on every project, else why bother. I usually just wait a year or two on these AAA games, after they release a complete edition that includes all DLC.

Luckily the community has already stepped up. The $2 DLC to change your appearance is moved to the first merchant in the game with a mod. It looks like DD2 supports frame generation but its disabled, a modder enabled it. Some people are enjoying the doubled framerate, others are getting crashes. Getting a lifetime membership at Nexusmods was a good decision. www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma2

So this is probably why a lot of people are having performance issues with Jedi Survivor, can't say I've seen a game use beyond 16 gigs of RAM before let alone 22+ gigs.
I remember back when I got my CPU, thought it probably wouldn't be a bad idea to go ahead and get double the RAM too. Looks like it's paid off 3 or 4 years later.
The game is buttery smooth for me, very few FPS drops.
*edit* and found a part where it's not solid 60fps anymore with drops to 39fps. Not bad but when it happens, the GPU usage goes down so this does seem to be an optimization issue. Went into settings and found that raytracing was turned back on, turned it back off and now it's a solid 60fps again, guess it could be said it's the raytracing in this game that's badly optimized. That frame generation mod might work with this game too, probably might look at it later. There's also the possibility that it's just the 10 gigs of VRAM on this card being exceeded.
lol just now in the game, I was fighting this raider guy and a battledroid from higher up was shooting down and throwing grenades at me. One of his grenades killed the raider (who was his ally) and made him go over a cliff, I thought that was hilarious. It was one of those "roger roger" battledroids from the prequel movies.

I've made it pretty far into FF7 Remake. It has settings for 30, 60, or 120 FPS. I downloaded a mod that lets you uncap the framerate. I noticed it was only using 55-65% of my GPU and getting around 130 fps, however in some rooms it would use 99% of the GPU and get nearly 300 FPS.
I read that DXVK takes better advantage of GPU hardware and I was curious how other HDR methods would look, so I downloaded a special version of DXVK made for HDR and some ReShade shaders.
After getting all of that setup..................game is using 55-65% GPU most of the time...lol
Went back to DX12 and built in HDR. I noticed in the DXVK HDR lamps were white, in the built in HDR they are yellow, this might be because I am not configuring it right or pressing the right button.
I'm in a Discord server for HDR now, one of the best AutoHDR methods is Lilium Shaders, the author Lilium actually hangs out in that Discord servers and they answered some of my questions so that was cool.

The story in FF7 Remake is good so far, you get to a point where the big bad is planning a terrorist attack they are going to blame on your party, literally everyone you know or care about is going to die if you don't hurry to get back an stop it.
........so you and your companions keep stopping to talk over and over and over talking about how you "better hurry" if you want to save everyone. Then you stop for 5 minutes to listen to a wounded person, then you stop to talk to a little kid for 5 more minutes.
The lack of urgency in saving everyone you know was pretty funny.

I had said before the campaign of CoH 3 was middling but after playing more, I really got into it. Wasn't expecting the turn-based element but there are still RTS battles in between, and the stuff earned during the turn-based part is available during the RTS parts (units, abilities, etc). So far I think it's a great CoH game, feels very updated. I think this game is even on the PS5 and XBox.
*edit*
Ok so that was just the Italy campaign (Allies), there's now an Africa campaign (Axis) with RTS missions. Not sure if it will stay RTS or change to the turn-based thing like the other campaign, guess I'll find out. So far the missions are in desert terrain which looks great, and is a nice addition to map variety. The 2nd game added snow with realism, like your troops have trouble walking through it, and they can also freeze to death if they aren't taken care of.
One of my favorite mechanics in these games is being able to have your troops pick up enemy weapons.

I was just looking at CyberPunk mods on Nexusmods and stumbled on this. Looks like it might be a must install for some people. It looks to improve quality and performance for Ray Tracing/Path Tracing, there is actually a version of the mod that enables some Path Tracing features inside Ray Tracing, so if your GPU can't handle Path Tracing you still get some of the visual quality from it www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/10490?tab=filesIts pretty complicated but the author includes detailed instructions with the downloads which is nice. This video covers it. Running pretty well for him on his AMD GPU. The maximum quality "Cinematic" preset lowers his FPS by 67% compared to stock Path Tracing, yeesh. Like he says in the video those numbers only apply to his particular videocard.

I just had the weirdest thing happen in CyberPunk. I decided to finish the story. I was playing through one of the endings and I got to a point where you have to sneak. I knocked a guy out, threw his body down, then went around a corner and knocked someone out, then triggered the next section.
A conversation starts and I turn around and the first person I knocked out had fire coming out of their eyes..........I stopped and looked like wtf. It went away after about 3 seconds. Then I noticed I was stuck walking crouched with my pistol out. Its been a few years since I finished CyberPunk the first time so I don't remember this part at all.
Anyway I go to the next objective and look at some cameras and it says "To interact you must set the body down"..........wtf? What body. I'm not holding anything.
I remember you press Q to set a body down, and my character proceeds to throw nothing on the ground and start moving normally again.
That was strange.

One time while playing, all of these pedestrians walking around suddenly had glowing yellow eyes, and then it looked like yellow triangle-shaped beams started coming from everyone's eyes. Should've taken a screenshot or 2, but it creeped me out to the point where I reloaded the game. Haven't seen that happen since.

I got a braindance sent to my apartment. I loaded it up and everything was black. Like all the lights were turned out, I could see the vague outlines of people but impossible to watch. Not sure what caused that. First time I have noticed anything like that on my new PC and no clue what mod is causing it.
Would be cool to see the Bloody Ritual cyberpsycho mission with everything maxed, that was one of the coolest looking missions in the game and I imagine it looks amazing with Path Tracing on.

Well shit. Just finished Cyberpunk again, went through all the credits: {CLICK FOR SPOILER}I thought Songbird might send me a message or......something. Nope. Its like Phantom Liberty never happened.
Debating if I want to reload my save right where you can choose to help Songbird or betray her. Thing is my character is a bit older and weaker so would take a bit to get used too.

Sega's always been a cool company. Versus Nintendo who makes obscene amounts of money, yet still sues the pants off of virtually everyone. Nintendo's business practices just seem so lame and unnecessary. Not that I condone piracy, because i do try to pay for retro game titles when they're available to purchase. I'm mostly talking about Abandonware that's not even available for sale.

Logged onto World of Tanks for the first time in 2-3 years? I got rewarded for being a veteran, been playing since 2012. Got $1,500,000, a free tank which is like Tier 6, and a ton of other stuff including 3 months of free premium so that was nice.
I remember reading WoT was making $450 MILLION dollars a year. Crazy. I have dropped about $150 total on it over the years I think.

So after finishing Cyberpunk I went back through my old savegames and reloaded the spot in the DLC where you make the choice that leads to one of the two endings. Was shocked how fast the story diverged. I went from level 60 to level 55, not that huge of a drop. However my armor was on like 940 / 1500. I remember after that save I redid my Cyberware specifically to get better armor and hit the cap. 900/1500 vs 1500/1500 is a huge difference. Also I felt really really stupid. There is a Cyberware that acts as a healing item, I figured I didn't need it, I forgot it skips the healing animation which is absolutely huge. It means you can skip healing as a melee person. Even against the last boss I had to stop to heal, with that Cyberware you don't. Sucked losing one of the best pistols in the game by rolling back as well. The other choice really does feel like a horror game, the first choice I made had hints of horror but was nowhere near as horror focused as the other choice. Obviously took a lot of influence from Amnesia and especially Alien Isolation. {CLICK FOR SPOILER}They Cerberus robot would absolutely rip the Alien from the Alien movies apart. Not even a contest. Come to think the whole world of Cyberpunk feels more advanced then the Alien world besides their spaceships.
I also appreciated the name of the questline.
I watched a video on "stuff you might have missed in the Phantom Liberty DLC ending" and holy crap I missed a ton of stuff my first time finishing it. The developers really packed the ending full of stuff. To be fair the whole time you are in a huge rush so I didn't stop to search for items. I just tried to get to the end as quickly as possible.

Yeah that part where you side with Songbird instead of Reed was really good I thought. Both paths were great. Kinda feels like the one where you side with Songbird instead is the true ending, because it lets you resume the old game and finish it that way. I think the ending where V goes with the Nomads is the best one.
{CLICK FOR SPOILER} Also if a female V and romanced Judy, she goes with V and the Nomads too. Also one thing, I wish there was an ending option where V just gets cured and Johnny gets to stick around as a digital ghost in his head.

I already finished The Outer Worlds back when it launched, haven't thought much of it since. Dunno what DLC they added. I grabbed it on Epic. Thief, while not a 1/10 game is nowhere near as good as Thief 1-3, Thief 3 had some very annoying issues that have largely been fixed by the community with The Sneaky Mod, the biggest sin of Thief 3 is the first 2 games had absolutely massive sprawling levels while due to the OG XBox memory limitations and using the Unreal engine they had to split the missions into 2 or 3 sections. It completely breaks immersion having to walk into the dumb glowing portals. The Sneaky Mod gets rid of these loading zones completely, AI will even chase you down the hallways. I was crazy disappointment with Thief 4, it took a huge influence from Dishonored, ironic since Dishonored was going to be a Thief game but they couldn't secure the rights so made their own world but in the Victorian era. Thief The Black Parade, a free mod, is better in every way then Thief 4: www.moddb.com/mods/thief-the-black-paradeOh yeah, I'm getting near the end of the DLC in Cyberpunk: {CLICK FOR SPOILER}I have avoided massive spoilers besides reading the rewards you get. I almost missed a blueprint for the best gun in the game but happened to double back and check a table.
There is a sequence where I am like "I bet that robot is going to come down out of the ceiling as soon as I click this, I'm going to go explore."
I went down the hall, and used a code I found earlier and looted a few rooms. Figured as long as I didn't trigger the room I left earlier, no robot.
Nope. I was looking at a terminal and the fucking robot falls right out of the ceiling. Its VERY Alien Isolation. I've finish Alien Isolation 2.5 times. This section of the DLC is making me want to play it again.

One thing that always annoyed me is that they didn't put grenades in it. Yeah I don't remember much about it, besides the fact that the NPCs just stood there. I did the "secret ending" in Cyberpunk. I mean its not really secret since everyone knows about it now. {CLICK FOR SPOILER}I went and sat with Johnny at the spot it said and nothing happened. I had 75% relationship with him. I guess its glitchy.
I am using the mod that gives you the console. Apparently ONE conversation in the entire game determines if you can do the secret ending or not. I used the console to set the conversation again. Stepped away for 10 minutes. Came back. Nothing.
So I picked the suicide option THEN Johnny offered the secret ending.
It was fun, very difficult but fun. The first time against Smasher I got him to 30%, got cocky and got up in his face. Died to an explosion. Doh. I got rid of the Cyberware the lets you survive a death.
Second time I fought him I rushed his goons he summons when he is low on health. Attacked them all with finishers, with my build finishers really buff me plus I triggered the Fury state not sure the chance of that but that is a huge buff. Ripped smasher apart with that.
Honestly, I think the game looks better with Path/Ray Tracing off. The latency is better and fps is WAY higher, plus DLAA is amazing anti-aliasing and can easily run it. Also I felt really dumb, I was halfway through the end battle when I realized I never upgraded the gun I got from the DLC.

^Oh yeah if you are talking about the ending I think you're talking about, that's also a great ending.
{CLICK FOR SPOILER} I think it's that conversation earlier on in the game when that Grayson guy tells where the resting place of Johnny's body is out in those oil fields. Have to pick the right options during that conversation with Johnny out there, something along the lines of telling Johnny "you fucked up" and then "this is your last chance." Then during that conversation on the rooftop, the option for that path opens up.

Yeah thats it. Rather then wait and wait I just used the console to make sure the right variable was set. Oh yeah I felt kinda like a dick {CLICK FOR SPOILER}I completely forgot you could save Takemura, the mission where they break in and he dies is the first story mission I played after a long break from CyberPunk. I just ran out of the door. Then way later when the ending was playing I realized he wasn't there. My first playthrough with QuickHacks back in like 2021 I actually rescued him and did the Arasaka ending so he visited me in the spacestation
