Tried this out last night. Sadly it looks like it doesn't work with all Doom mods yet. Bunch of videos of it on YouTube:
Its interesting when I was reading the readme it said "DLSS2 / FSR" and I was like "Why not use DLSS3?"
Got it installed and it actually let me select DLSS3 AND Frame Generation........Frame Generation........in DOOM.....lol.
It has the Voxel Mod built in. Set everything to max. Frame Generation ON and DLAA..........holy shit my 4080 Super was crying. 320 watts sustained getting like 64 FPS.
Set it to DLSS Quality and ran a lot better, looks pretty good.

Looks pretty incredible, I remember trying out Quake II RTX on my 3080 and it was pretty amazing too. One game I would really like to see raytracing in is KCD, there is one mod I found but I'm not sure if it actually does it or not, seems like just an ENB preset:
*edit* lol it's funny in KCD, you have to have a lit torch while walking around a town at night. If you don't, the guards walk up and fine or threaten to fine you for walking around without a torch.

Completed it a few times back in the day. Ah, what the hell, here it is: That reminds me of this old CD I have somewhere with Quake 1 on it, but it needed a special key or a crack to unlock the full game, otherwise it was just a demo. One of my friends left it at my house a long ago when I was in middle school, there was a key to unlock it but I don't have it anymore unfortunately. Been thinking about giving it back to him but it's been a long time since then, it's likely he doesn't even remember it.
I remember it also having some other games on it, hopefully will find it. Have the case but not the CD, hopefully it's in one of my books.

There are keygens online to unlock those CDs, depending on the CD some have Quake and Doom/Heretic/Hexen. After the code system was so badly cracked they never used it again

At this point you're better off just getting the 'remastered' Quakes instead of bothering with the old disc versions...

At this point you're better off just getting the 'remastered' Quakes instead of bothering with the old disc versions... The Quake 1 remaster comes with a shitload of content. Some of it are two new episodes, Dimension of the Past and Dimension of the Machine. Past is maps very similar to what id would have made back in 1996 with the limits of computers at the time, very good. Machine is completely crazy high end giant maps, people say its absolutely amazing, one of the best Quake mission packs of all time. I've only started one of the maps and its huge and cool but I haven't even finished one level yet.

I finished the first episode of Legacy of Rust in Doom.
One of the missions got crazy abstract, I found the exit and realize I never used the yellow key. Turns out right near the entrance was a yellow door I completely forgot about it. Behind it was the replacement for the BFG and a nice surprise.
Not a fan of the gun replacements TBH. The flamethrower is OK I guess but not the new BFG.
Solid level design.

They didn't do much to the graphics otherwise but the architecture and level designs of those levels is top notch. Quake 2's are even better. The added lighting FX make that old ass game look way better even without updating the textures themselves...

I started Dimension of the Machine, reminded me how much I HATE the Quake 1 super shotgun, its just so weak in comparison to Doom 2, Quake 2, Quake 3........pretty much EVERY super shotgun in every FPS ever is better then the Quake super shotgun. Wondered if there was a mod I could use, did some googling didn't find anything. Decided to mod it myself. I literally wanted to change one line. Can't be that hard and I made my own Quake mods back in the 90s. You have to compile the .qc files into a progs.dat. Luckily the Dimension of the Machine source code was put on Github: github.com/id-Software/quake-rerelease-qcDownloaded a modern 64 bit compiler, and a .pak viewer So all I did was go to weapons and double the amount of pellets it shoots from 14 to 28, and increase the kickback from shooting it a bit. Then compiled it. Got a new progs.dat, used the .pak viewer to delete the old progs.dat and replaced it. Fired up Quake and presto. It works fine.

Kinda curious about Black Myth Wukong, it's getting really good reviews.
There's also a Wukong character in LoL, he was one of my favorites to play, his decoy ability (he turns invisible but leaves a decoy of himself in place for a few seconds) is just great. The funny thing, it's also possible to just stand in place and the enemy a lot of times will assume it's a decoy when it's not.

The Callisto Protocol looks good. It actually doesn't support DLSS natively, just FSR2. It supports HDR natively First thing I did was go to Nexusmods and sure enough there is a mod to turn FSR into DLSS: www.nexusmods.com/callistoprotocol/mods/18 Got it all setup and turned on the debug flag and it works fine. It came out in 2022 so I figured I could force DLAA. The game doesn't support Frame Generation so I just used Loessless Scaling. I play a bit and the 75 FOV is giving me a headache. I google and their are multiple FOV fixes but they are old at this point and one is Steam only, I'm using the free Epic version. Lame. First time I have played a game in a long time without a working FOV mod.

I decided to hop on STALKER CoP real quick with everything maxed just to see how it looks with RTX HDR. I remember thinking my 2070 Super would finally be the card that can do 8xSGSSAA with STALKER.........it wasn't fast enough. RTX HDR and SGSSAA don't work together and personally I would take RTX HDR any day of the week. Anyway, OpenXRay has nightly releases, as soon as 5 days ago: github.com/OpenXRay/xray-16/releasesIt has added a ton of stuff, and even has an OpenGL renderer. It appears many of the devs are Russian so its hard to read their documentation I installed the latest version and went to "Enhanced Visuals ( high )" They added a ton of graphics options. If you get your helmet damaged it looks worse. Not sure how I feel about that. The "Master Gold" release is for regular players.

I finished Legacy of Rust last night. Then today CIVVIE posted his review:
He went with the "offical" port while I used GZDoom......turns out GZDoom's latest release doesn't actually fully support it unless you download the nightly version.
The last two missions are the most difficult "official" Doom missions I have played. I don't want to say they are the hardest because I have played a LOT of Doom custom maps some of which were absolutely brutal, but still very hard.

Not sure if it is the "Final" Final update but just in time for Halloween Silent Hill 2 Enhanced Edition dropped a huge update: It would take forever to list everything it changes. The big one is 60 fps cutscenes to match the 60 fps gameplay. One thing I think is cool is it has actual Xbox controller buttons in game(if you pick them, or PS5) and you can either kick or stomp an enemy by holding attack or tapping attack. The very last of graphics features that were in the PS2 version not present in PC are now in PC. They added resolution scaling so you can just go to 200% resolution scaling and have excellent AA without worrying about the Nvidia control panel or ReShade like they did in the early releases. They fixed so much stuff that now EE is way above every other version of the game. I just tested it with Lossless Scaling. Looking great at 2x, smooth 120 fps. enhanced.townofsilenthill.com/SH2/

Oh yeah what is really cool about SH2 Enhanced Edition, I haven't touched it in forever, I went into the folder and launched "SH2EESetup.exe" it said it was out of date and needed to be updated, it updated itself. Then it asked if I wanted to update all the packages, I said yes and it downloaded all the new features. Just had to hit launch at the end.

Got home from work, 11 gig patch for Baldurs Gate 3. Took a while to install. Now the game had a built in mod browser like the new Doom release.
Time to actually start it. So weird I last play Baldurs Gate 2 back 24 years ago in college

Look at the size of these patch notes. Ridiculous: baldursgate3.game/news/patch-7-now-live_121They have more fixes coming down the pipe but they signaled this is the last of the "big" patches and they aren't doing anymore events around BG3

Finished Sigil 1 finally after all the years it has been out. I'm in the middle of Sigil 2 now. Sigil 2 is a lot more difficult then the first part on Ultra Violence. John Romero places secrets in a way you feel like "oh duh" when you find one. I'm not sure if I found the secret level in Sigil 1, I am sure I found the secret level in Sigil 2 already. It was funny how I stumbled onto the secret level, hust found a secret BFG very early: {CLICK FOR SPOILER}Then I noticed across from where I got the BFG was like a pit with something in it. There wasn't really a way to strafe run and jumping doesn't work in Sigil 2.
Then I realized if you turned away from the pit, faced the wall and fired a rocket at point blank range that would propel you back.
Shot the rocket, I fly backwards and bam, level ends and onto the secret level. Fun.

In FO76 they added these things called Shelters a while back that are underground spaces you can build up separate from the map. Finally decided to check em out and ended up building this up over a few weeks or so. *edit* having trouble linking images for some reason so I'll just attach: Would take more screenshots but the place is huge, would result in a lot of images. Also this place is pretty well hidden, someone would have to be keen on exploring in order to find the entrance. There's also a room with sleeper pods in the back (which also act as resting points), guess I got the idea from Vault 31 in the Fallout show.
*edit* This is really impressive, I can kinda see how this was accomplished but it was probably very time consuming. Not even sure where to get most of the decorations and items in this.
here's a longer video from the guy who did it:
