I finally bit the bullet and got Battlegrounds. Watched a ton of it on twitch so I got the general idea. My first game ever I got shit for guns but I did find a motorcycle. I was riding along and some guy was on foot, he sprayed in my direction and I ran him down for my first kill ever lol. Looted his corpse and he had level 3 armor and an upgraded m16. Score! And so it begins... haha Message me on steam if you want to duo or squad up sometime. |

I took my time finishing BOTW, but completed it this weekend. Warthunder sounds compelling, I'd love to find a good multi-player dogfight game that does it right.

Sure. Robotov has it as well and we BSed a bit about it tonight. So far I have been full solo just figuring it out. Yeah, solo is the best way to get your bearings and learn. If you want to really get some good experience killing then try and land in the areas with military loot. They will be very populated, but if you come out on top you will be completely geared out and will get plenty of battle experience. Also it's not a bad idea to prioritize getting a vehicle over looting sometimes. Depending on the planes path, you could drive far out and loot entire bases/cities to yourself. |

I had someone dead to rites laying on the ground in front of me and I shot 3 arrows at him and nothing. I set the meters higher on my 4x scope it didn't seem to make much difference. |

How far away was he? Crossbow has a huge drop-off after maybe 50m (maybe less?). Best for silent takedowns within 20-30m or so. And always go for the head shot. edit: Just got a rank 4 finish with 7 kills. Landed straight in the middle of pochinki and got 6 kills there before I had to leave for the 3rd or so circle. Kind of screwed myself going at the end and was left out in the open with no real cover. |

If anyone is on the fence on Battlegrounds my opinion is it is a fun game but still so into early access that it is frustrating so you may want to hold off a few months.
I have 30 hours clocked on it now. Not enough to where I am an expert but enough that I am not a total noob. Basically it has the worst gun handling of any game I have ever played. I know this is due to its early access status but basically right now the gun handling is a bigger threat then the enemy players.
One you load up any other FPS you immediately notice how bad it was in PUBG. I know this will be fixed in time but it isn't fixed as of right now.

Still playing Fallout 4 with that Dread ENB mod, along with the trees/grass mods. It really made it feel like a whole new game. When you're exploring, instead of seeing barren land, there are lush forests. I can't even recognize most areas of the map anymore. The trees mod (Commonwealth Conifers Redux) came with a huge performance hit, the mod author recommended another one called Regrowth Overhaul. I'll probably try it.
*edit* and, they both run about the same. Regrowth adds a ton of trees and grass, perhaps too much. Conifers Redux looks a lot better IMO, also suits the Dread ENB mod better.

Came closer then I ever have to winning.
Was down to 5 people left. Circle got smaller. I killed some guy in a building and decided to loot him....................big mistake. Got shot in the back. 3 people left. If I had just spun 180 I had a good chance. Bleh.
Still haven't won a match.

I'm still going strong with buggy ass laggy ass Battlegrounds.
Was just playing a match. Got fully upgraded level 3 armor and a fully upgraded Vector(best SMG in the game and IMO the best short range gun) and BAM! Host closed the connection. game over. lol.

Happened to me in a squad match. 8 people left, 3 in my squad and 2 other squads with 2 and 3 people, and nobody knew where we were. 2 other squads started to engage each other so we snuck up behind the 3 man squad just as they were finishing with the 2 people and seconds before we were going to engage and bring home that chicken dinner the connection crapped out.

So my love-hate relationship with this game continues. Had a good thing and a bad thing.
Good Thing:
I beat someone down with a pan today.
Bad Thing:
I snuck up on someone while holding the autoshotgun. I fired once and hit him straight in the back................then the lag kicked in....when the lag let up I was dead on the ground.........from a pistol. Bleh.

New laptop got here. Goddamn. Small bump in CPU but going from the 960m to the 1070 is like night and day. PUBG and everything else is much much smoother. Loving gsync.

I've been playing a lot of Ghost Recon: Wildlands recently and was actually able to join a couple of good co-op sessions with folks who actually talked to me and played the game strategically. I kept getting so many random groups mixed with kids and people that spoke another language. I'm also trying to wrap up the main story line for Witcher 3. I love that I'm 55+ hours into this game, about to finish the main story line, i think, and I still have hardly scratched the surface on side missions and Contracts.

So since I upgraded I decided to play Doom. It ran ok on my old system if I dialed it down but I held off so I could experience it in its full glory.
I made it like 5 hours in and quit. When it loaded it said my savegame was "DEV MODE" then wouldn't load..........lol.
Never used the console or any cheats. I guess since its a good ole Bethesda game it corrupts your save files randomly.
Luckily the fix is to set "devmode_enable 1" in the console, then load your game. That makes it so you can't get achievement but I have never really given a shit about achievements in any game.

Decided to load up STALKER CoP with the atmosphere/aresenal mod and set it to max.
I have NEVER had a computer that ran at a solid 60 fps with all advanced settings dragged to the right. Keep in mind I don't just mean the "max" preset. I mean ALL sliders dragged over.
I set this and imagine my surprise when my 1070 was running at a solid 75 FPS at 1080 and according to MSI Afterburner only using 30% of my GPU power.
Decided to see if I could max it out.
I used Nvidia Inspector and forced SGSSAA with transparency. This forces every single blade of grass to to have 4x supersampling.
Loaded up the game and damn I have never seen Stalker looks so solid. No aliasing anywhere...............but 35 fps.
Almost a 10 year old game and STILL can't really max it out. Maybe in 5 more years

I cannot believe I pulled this out of my ass. I had no armor till like the last 3 minutes of the game. I checked like 20 buildings. No luck. Finally had to pull some off someones dead body
