I beat Horizon Zero Dawn a couple weeks ago, loved every minute of if, and can't seem to find something new that's enjoyable to play. I fired up GTA V to finish where I left off and just can't seem to get back into it. Sad to even say that even the PC version of GTA V graphically looks dull and bland compared to Zero Dawn on the PS4 Pro.... I guess HDR really does make a difference. I liked the first Life is Strange, bought the new one on Steam today, and....yuk....instant refund.... www.playstation.com/en-us/games/horizon-zero-dawn-ps4/the-frozen-wilds-dlc/

Not into online gaming unless it's racing.

www.greenmangaming.com has Cuphead for 20% off if you use coupon code 20CUPHEAD, comes to $16 instead of $20. I got an email with a voucher for 25% off (makes the game $15) but wasn't a code that can be shared. If you're signed up with GreenManGaming though, you probably have the same email.

I'm aware of the release date. It's just that you seem to have established (in your own mind at least) that there aren't any games currently available worth playing. My point is, at least you have something to look forward to (more Horizon Zero Dawn). Here's a racing game to be released in a few weeks. www.gran-turismo.com/us/

I wonder if the AI in that improved at all. I stuck with (the seasonal events in) 5 and 6 for a long time but finally the complete lack of any opponent AI made me quit playing. Every seasonal challenge always was the same: overtake this long line of cars within x amount of laps. It was just a time trial with moving obstacles. That's not what racing is...

Divinity 2 Original Sin is getting insane reviews with pretty much every reviewer giving a 9/10 or 10/10 and calling it one of the best RPGs of all time. Someone even said the combat is like a "fantasy XCOM" which sold me right away. I still haven't bought it tho. I have this thing about paying full price for games. store.steampowered.com/app/435150/Divinity_Original_Sin_2/

Sounds like they really stuck to the same formula (grind until you have the car and/or upgrades to win the race) all these years. GT 1 & 2 were the same. If it's any consolation, the game will have online multiplayer.

I have this thing about paying full price for games. store.steampowered.com/app/435150/Divinity_Original_Sin_2/I played the first one (Divinity Original Sin) and felt like it was overrated. Didn't care for the writing/dialogue or cartoony graphics. However, they made an "Enchanced" re-release (free of charge), which I haven't played and it supposedly improved some of the voices & dialogue. The battle sequences are loosely similar to XCOM, in that it's turn-based and tactical. But if you expect a XCOM clone with a fantasy spin, you might be disappointed. Overall, the game is more of a RPG (character creation & building, dialogue & choices, exploration, puzzle-solving). Gameplay isn't as straight-forward as XCOM. Various intricacies of RPG inspired gameplay (spell combos, melee skills, character combinations) make the gameplay more tedious than XCOM. For example, in battles, one character's move can set up special attacks or spells for the next character/s attacks, etc.

I've been considering this game - Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun. Looks like a fun tactical stealth game without the RPG fluff. Gameplay is real-time though, not turn-based. Reviews say it plays well with a controller. www.mimimi-productions.de/shadow_tactics_micro/

Honestly, if you're looking for an RPG, I'd suggest giving "Pillars of Eternity" a try. The game was developed by Obsidian Entertainment (same as KotOR 2), so the writing is probably significantly better than Divinity OS 1 & 2.
I think people go nuts over Divinity OS because the depth of gameplay is unparalleled in RPG's. But it's that depth that also makes it more tedious to play and less fun, imho.

I bought Pillars of Eternity on sale, only played the first few minutes but what I played was very good so far.
Speaking of KotOR 2, they upgraded it for free on Steam a while back with controller and widescreen support. Works with the Restored Content mod too.

Yeah, it's great to see that this developer is still around. Good writing is important in RPG's. Personally, I can't get into an RPG if the writing is mediocre. I see that they're already working on Pillars of Eternity 2. eternity.obsidian.net/

I downloaded Fortnite Battle Royal. A lot like PUBG but with building. Got 4 kills my first game. Its fun and costs nothing.

I tried Pillars, only played a couple of hours, didn't really grab me. I'm curious. What sucked about it exactly? Was the writing bad? I only played Divinity Original Sin for about 30 minutes. To be more specific about the dialogue/writing, it was too Disneyesque, in a cheesy sort of way - trying to be funny & cute resulting in practically zero immersion. I didn't have to play it for long to know it wasn't for me. I haven't played Divinity OS 2. Maybe the writing & store improved in the sequel (judging by the screenshots, the graphics certainly did). I just didn't see any mention of its story in the Steam reviews I read, so I have no reason to think this aspect of the game might've improved over the 1st one. Eventually, when the game is 75% off on Steam, I might give it try.

I got an email about that, might buy it. If I do buy it, I'd rather play it on a PS4 controller though, I only have an Xbox One controller at the moment. *edit* I pre-ordered Cuphead on GreenManGaming for $15, just got the key this morning. Played it for nearly a half-hour, I think it's very good and the creators of this game definitely accomplished what they set out to do. It was first shown in 2014 but had been in development since 2010, took 7 years for this game to be made. I think it's because they actually hand drew all the animations and backgrounds.

Been spending some time playing Chrono Trigger on my DS. Good game, first time playing on DS. It has the FMV that were added to the playstation version years ago so that's cool. I really like playing RPG's on DS because the second screen can really be utilized as the world map, give commands in battle, etc all while leaving the top screen for action only. Few changes from SNES version, tonics are now potions, revives are now called Athenian Water, several other weapon name changes.

I also played Divinity 1 Enhanced and was underwhelmed. I had trouble getting hooked in. I just never quite cared about the world, the characters or the story. The dialogue was a bit cheese, over acted I suppose. Combat was fine though. Laid out like Baldurs Gate but turn based.

Just bought Tekken 7, only 1 day left on the 40% discount on HB so I went for it.

So I streamed Metroid: Zero Mission on twitch like a week ago.
Been wanting to play more Metroid, I kept hearing that AM2R was rock solid, it is a remake of Metroid 2 for the original gameboy but with modern graphics and gameplay features. Apparently the dude worked on it for like 10 years. I was pleasantly surprised that I just plugged in my 360 controller and everything worked including rumble.
With a bit more polish I would 100% believe this was an official Nintendo Metroid game, its no wonder it got a cease and desist from Nintendo.
I'd recommend AM2R if you have any interest in the Metroid series.
