The major downside to Trump losing is we go back to letting China screw us over (with the WTO giving them a pass on polluting as much as they want, pegging their currency, China govt subsidizing every single industry w/ 50% govt ownership and setting artificially low prices (temporarily) to eliminate foreign competition, the worst/most prolific IP theft in the history of humanity, and continued horrific workers & human rights abuses). Then, back here in the U.S., it's back to jobless recoveries, the media pretending the economy is fine and their guys in DC are doing the bestest job ever, while millions struggle to find employment.
It's unfortunate there's no ideal candidate out there, someone that knows how to run an economy and simultaneously understands that the health care system needs an overhaul.

Corona virus has been a major boon for consumer spending and not just at the grocery chains. Perusing Bestbuy.com today and I see products sold out (like most Nintendo Switch consoles and special edition games). Also, the Microsoft store has Xbox One consoles on sale and few of the bundles and controllers are sold out. These items weren't selling out before C-19 pandemic that supposedly has people thinking that the world is ending.
I might have been mistaken about the mass hysteria. If people really thought we're in for a great recession/depression, would they really be blowing tons of money on entertainment products..
Edit: Appears it's a not a local phenomenon either, since resellers are scalping Switches at marked up prices. I literally couldn't find any going for retail price at Amazon.

I haven't watched it all the way but this documentary is basically about how Trump dropped the ball on China:

Speaking of things being unavailable. Because barbers/hair salons have been forced to close, for the moment it's very hard to get a hold of electrical trimmers over here, lol, just about every webshop is sold out...

What do think of the recent riots in Italy and Italians demanding that their govt leave the EU? Supposedly, they're frustrated because EU partners have denied them aid and other countries around the world (China being just one of them) are supplying aid.

I started shaving my head a while ago. I like it a lot now. I never have to worry about how my hair looks. It takes like 1 minute of upkeep a day running over my head with a razor in the shower.

Starting late last year, I've done buzz cuts with electric clippers once every few weeks. Minimal upkeep and saves money not going to the barber. I've had more compliments (on my short hair) since not going to barber, so it's a good change all around.

I'm finding some kind of amusement in all those religious people contracting and dying from the virus because they insist on going to churches and religious gatherings. All over the world this is happening, not just the US. Good, fuck'em, the less religious nutcases the better. Keep gathering and keep praying...

There's something called the "Darwin awards" where "awards" are given for the people who do the stupidest things and die. That's what this is, on a global scale.

You know, back in Jesus' time, they didn't have big buildings where people gathered to worship. The "church" referred to the body of believers, not some building. imo, modern religion has twisted its meaning, for the sake of gathering people in large groups in order to increase tithing.
Even if the pastors and church-goers were to argue that gathering in large groups in cramped quarters isn't testing God (to use his power for divine intervention or whatever), it is tempting fate by defying logic & reason.

I realize Europe isn't perfect and their are plenty of idiots over there but its really pathetic how intertwined religion and government is here This was my Congressmen for most of my life in Alaska: www.adn.com/opinions/2020/04/04/the-beer-virus-pandemic-will-color-youngs-legacy/He is walking back his "beer virus" bullshit now and even denying things he said on camera, that isn't the worst thing tho. I am sure you have heard of Jerry Falwell, Billy Graham, Pat Robertson. They are nationally famous. In Alaska there is a guy very similar to them but only famous in Alaska named Jerry Prevo. He only recently retired. When he retired my congressmen was on stage literally fucking crying saying "JERRY PREVO LED ME TO JESUS HALLELUJAH!" its absolutely pathetic, Prevo would tell people how to vote then load them up on buses and have them driven to polling places. He did this for years. Republicans had to grovel at his feet to get his approval. Also he owned the largest private residence in Alaska and his own private jet all tax free.

Its ironic that so many of the "guns and freedom" crowd are also usually Christians since religion was one of the first boots on your neck. Tithing was not optional. It was a tax. They took attendance at church and there were punishments for missing. Apostasy was punishable by death similar to the Muslim countries today. Who was responsible for getting rid of this? Evil liberals. of course. lol.

Do you mean John Calvin who contributed to the Protestant Reformation, which brought about an end to the practice of "indulgences" by the Catholic church? The founding fathers of the U.S. set a new govt to escape the rule of monarchies and churches. I doubt you meant those guys though, since they're the ones responsible for the 2nd Amendment.

We are talking about changes over hundreds of years in Europe and then the US. Calvinism is hardly liberal by modern standards and the protestants were every bit as intolerant as the Catholics before them. The founding fathers were not Xianity guys especially not Thomas Jefferson and conservative Christians have tried to rewrite history that to fit their narrative. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_views_of_Thomas_JeffersonAlso the second amendment has nothing to do with a discussion of religion at all.

According to the above, the number of deaths due to human ideology: Communism (atheists): 94m Fascism: 28m Democracy: 15m Catholicism: 3m I was going to say what about Queen Elizabeth I of Spain and the Spanish Inquisition, but I forgot she was Catholic, not Protestant. I guess the death toll due to Protestants was something under 1m and therefore not included (because stats are displayed in millions). www.themurky.com/wow/the-10-most-evil-women-rulers-in-history/

Don't get me wrong, guys. I don't think Catholicism was any less evil (at least, back in the dark ages and for hundreds of years after). I'm merely quoting the stats to illustrate that a broad range of human ideologies can be evil. Usually, this is the case when power-hungry leaders who control the resources and means to wage war are evil. A likely reason that the Catholic church of old didn't do more damage (compared to Communism or Fascism) is because their reign over Europe occurred prior to the invention of modern warfare and weapons. But that was more or less built into their system of rule because their ideology held back the advancement of science & technology.

Imagine how advanced we might be by now if humanity had skipped the hundreds of years of theocratic rule by Catholicism and the dark ages. One could argue that the Catholic church merely filled the power void that resulted from the dark ages. Regardless, the two things went hand in hand and I wouldn't doubt if it resulted in a negative feedback loop that made the dark ages period last much longer. historythings.com/5-things-that-actually-caused-the-dark-ages/

What's your guys professional opinion on the Corona Virus? Anyone else having fun yet? Since all these pandemics seem to stem from China, should all the countries just band together and nuke them out, eliminate the problem at the source? Fuck it, I say we do it...lol.
Many of the countries neighboring China actually have a more positive view of the U.S. than China. You wouldn't know this if you didn't talk to their people directly though because the media has their own phony narrative. China has territorial disputes and border issues with most of them, because they are a greedy expansionist power. Fact. Any ChiComm sympathizer who wants to question me on this can google it themselves before posting inane comments. Even Vietnam, a communist country itself, trusts the U.S. over China. HK protester: "China is asshole!" lol However, China has been busy lately giving out aid to countries worst hit by the virus (such as Italy) while pushing a global propaganda campaign shifting blame (via blatant lies in their media) to Italy and others (see one of my earlier posts w/ link to the article). It's outrageous!

These guys discuss the religion 'problem' in western societies. The guest explains why our socialist govt's aren't sustainable on the current trajectory. In a nut shell, they say religious ppl with traditional values (who also tend to remain poor & require more govt assistance) and brought in via mass immigration, vastly out-breed the secular long-time citizens.
Also, they go into some of the economic effects of all this, which might explain why the EU has declined aid to its own member (Italy) during this pandemic. I can only speculate, since Cop missed or ignored the question earlier and I don't know any other Europeans to ask their opinion.

“Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen; all know how to die; but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith” - Winston Churchill

I'm not a huge gun buff myself, but I know the basics of firearms safety and handling a gun (since I have friends and family that are into guns). Nobody's raiding my apartment yet for my stash of 20 rolls of TP and I doubt they ever will. I haven't even looked at guns once during this whole crisis. Cracks me up tho that there are liberals rushing about to buy guns and getting frustrated & irate about the gun control laws slowing their purchases. lol
