While I generally agree with all the criticisms above, and totally rather all the movies followed the way things were done in the original movies - the Disney movies were more entertaining than the 3 prequels that had too much CGI to be taken seriously as well as dumb things like jar jar and a child Vader flying spaceships and worst was the bad acting of teenage Vader with his stupid backtalk.
Casual fans will like the Disney movies because they don't remember the lore and subtleties of the original movies, and because the Disney movies are better than the childish prequels. It's what Disney is trying to do is create a new generation of hardcore fans, but indeed Disney is failing at that because it is the hardcore fans of old that dominate the market now - who knows in 20 years, but for now Disney has failed.
For me, I hated the prequels, my favourites are the original 3 movies for it's subtle perfections like the acting and consistency in it's lore and storylines - and also it's not the matrix style of unbelievable fight scenes and shoutouts that's taken over movies now, I can imagine a future like the original Star Wars thousands of years later or millions or whatever.
So while all the same social justice force feeding and inconsistent lore really really annoy me, I still enjoyed watching the Disney movies - while I just hate episode 1 and 2.
