AFAIK, it was a 5-year deal. That's about the average half-life of a console generation... a long time in terms of video games.

Unfortunately, Disney stripped canon status from "Old Republic" era Star Wars, even before denying Bioware the rights to do another KotOR game. gamerant.com/star-wars-old-republic-canon/They say Disney wants a clean slate with the SW universe (so that they can do pretty much whatever they want with SW outside of the original movie trilogy). As such, it's unlikely we'll get another KotOR game as long as Disney's behind the wheel. It seems they're more interested in turning SW into a media for delivering SJW content, rather than pleasing fans.

Obsidian was actually beginning work on KotOR III before Disney shut down Lucasarts in 2013, they had some concept art.
Lucasarts was founded by George Lucas himself in 1982.

This is worth a watch if you're a fan of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) or Admiral Ackbar (Tim Rose). Both actors cried on set of SW: The Last Jedi..

The best part TLJ was when it ended. It was terrible
Solo was not-terrible and actually enjoyable. Probably the first Star Wars movie since the original trilogy which was majorly enjoyable.

Brie Larson's a good actress, I think her academy award for Room was deserved. But still, I am not sure if that is "great" news or not.

She was good in Room, but she seems wooden with a flat personality in other movies. I only recall seeing her in two other movies though. I'm not impressed with what I'm seeing about the upcoming Star Wars movie. Pretty sure I'm going to skip "The Rise of Skywalker" at the theater and wait for home video. I won't likely enjoy the story, but some of the effects can be entertaining for one viewing.

It's funny that Disney tried to blame Star Wars fans for their blunders, then turned around and fired directors. I'm cautiously optimistic for Ep 9, I think it's good that JJ Abrams took over. I saw B-Wings in the trailer, they were supposed to feature more than they did in Return of the Jedi but didn't due to budget and limited SFX at the time. That right there tells me that JJ Abrams knows Star Wars and cares. The Ghost from Star Wars Rebels is in the trailer too, it was also in Rogue One.

Yeah, it started off pretty decent with JJ's movie, even though it was copy & paste of Ep IV and lacked imagination. Admittedly, "Ruin" Johnson (nickname given by "Overlord DVD") has mangled the plot consistency, outright forgetting major plot points. For example, Luke didn't give up hope and desire to be in total isolation for the remainder of his life... in the first movie, he left a map to his location! Luke premeditated the whole plan allowing himself to be found. Also, Ruin turned Snoke into a generic baddie with no backstory. The character's only there to serve as an antagonist and nothing more. Ruin killed him off too, so now JJ would have to do some major backtracking and clever writing if he decides to patch the plot holes surrounding this character.

I really wish Rey would have joined with Kylo last movie and they would have taken the series in some crazy new direction. Already got my ticket tho. Seeing it in 3D. Going Dec 20th leaving work early.

A woman criticizes Kathleen Kennedy on public tv. Oh noes! It takes a strong willed woman to overcome female in-group preference and publicly admit when another woman is fu*king up, especially with the "future is female" narrative being pushed so heavily throughout corporate/media and the education system. This lady gets it... She knows it has nothing to do with Kathleen Kennedy being a woman, and everything to do with KK's (mis)handling of the franchise, resulting in lackluster SW movies.

SW: Rise of Skywalker - Doomcock comments on the latest leaks & spoilers.
Personally, I wasn't planning on seeing it theaters anyway, so I don't mind a few spoilers.

I watched the clip they released. My first thought was that it felt like more forced lame humor like Ep 8 had.

I watched the clip they released. My first thought was that it felt like more forced lame humor like Ep 8 had. I've never considered myself to be a hardcore fan of Star Wars. I'm more of a casual fan. But I can't help being both fascinated and sickened by how badly Disney has been fu*king up Star Wars. The worst part is seeing how they ruined the old characters. They shat on the original roles and actors in the worst ways possible (lousy scripts, mischaracterization/disregarding their true personalities & motivations, meaningless and nonsensical deaths). Also, writers & directors disrespecting and disregarding feedback the actors gave during filming. I dare say, the original actors were the only ones involved in the new trilogy who had an emotional investment in those roles and expressed real love/appreciation for the fans. Everybody else was in it for the money, political posturing, and scoring SJW points.

I bought my ticket the day they went on sale. Leaving work early on the 20th to see it. Dunno if it will be good or not.
I'm not a raging Star Wars fan but I like it. Funny when my family got a VHS player we got Return of the Jedi before the other two. I had seen Return of the Jedi a bunch of times before I ever saw the original Star Wars or Empire Strikes Back.

I remember you mentioning that before. I'm not ragging on anyone for watching the movies, nor suggesting they not go & see it. I'm mostly just venting here. Today, I watched a few clips (on YT) of the prequel trilogy, showing Anakin's progression and conversion to the dark side. I have to say that that (the plot, script and acting) was cinematic genius compared to the new Disney trilogy. The lightsaber battles (in the prequels) were immensely superior as well.

Rather that start a new thread, I'll ask here. Did anyone else ever have a moment where they realized that Obi-Wan Kenobi negotiated with Han Solo like a true Jedi, as he was totally up-front about what Han would be risking? He could have left out the part about "we'd like to avoid any Imperial entanglements".

Chronological order isn't that important though. I thought it was nice you'd get to see characters again at the beginning of their journey after you've already grown to know them throughout the series, especially the Clone Troopers that you, randomly, see from being cadets to rookies to veterans and eventually arc troopers. Some of those characters feature in the first season right up to the end.
I heard they're going to do a spin-off of a group of characters that was introduced in the last season: the bad batch.

Seeing the whole story where all the Jedi and Clone Troopers are fighting together makes the Order 66 scene in episode III that much more heartbreaking.
