That's where I got most of the info regarding the quality of a movie from  User reviews don't paint such a quick and easy picture. You could tell a lot more from a movie just looking at the titles on the message board... Also: who's going to explain the meaning of an ending or just something important in the movie if there are no more boards to find that answer quickly? |

I think its less amount money and more about hassle. The amount of trolls and such on IMDB was really high and you didn't have to go far to find death threats and such. |

Probably. It's like the opinion function underneath articles on newspaper sites that always turn into racist shouting matches in which the illiterate seem to thrive...
Online trolling is too easy to do and it takes far too much effort to undo the effects... ...unless you remove the entire feature that makes the trolling possible...
