Beat the game I bought it for - there is no replay value in a quick time event single player story based game unlike say, a racing game. But I did enjoy it while it lasted. I got another game, Shadow of the Beast which is based on the original 1989 Amiga game and beat it (it was a very short game, but I also enjoyed it while it lasted). But as of now, no other PS4 exclusives interest me. The next exclusive that has my interest won't be out until the end of 2017, maybe even early 2018. So now I foresee the PS4 just sitting around collecting dust like my Xbox 360 does. I'm wondering if I should just get my full refund back for the PS4 (I have until Feb 9th to return it) and just buy another one later if a PS4 exclusive comes out that I want to play and just keep returning the PS4 after completing that exclusive game that I want to play maybe once a year that has no replay value after completing it so that there's no actual money out of pocket for the PS4 hardware and I'm just paying for the games and "borrowing" the PS4? Seems like the smart thing to do financially - keep that $400.00 that the PS4 Pro cost in my pocket and just borrow another brand new one for free for 30 days when I need one.
Yea, it's kind of shady but, fuck the world. I got kidnapped out of work to do jury duty and lost tons of wages and food off my table when the judge is making $167,000 a year. They allow you to return it, I didn't make up the rules that can be abused and it's not my doing to make games exclusive on inferior hardware to try to force you to buy that inferior hardware so I have no morals with getting a refund for the console after using it. If it even had a good selection of apps I might keep it for a back up system. But only one music app- Spotify? Nah... I got in on the $7 a month for life early access to Google music....not going to switch now and pay more and when even a smart TV has more apps you kinda just expect a modern day entertainment device that's connected to the internet to have a plethero of apps to pick and choose from. The PS4 has like nothing for apps... I did download a bunch of game demos but nothing caught my attention. I'd hate to return it and then just a week later come across another exclusive game I want to play on it but the day after my return period ends the drone I want will be back in stock and it costs $1000.00 and the money I spent of the PS4 was kinda the money I was saving for the drone (DJI Mavic Pro) so I dunno..... I think the 4k drone with a 4 mile range will be a lot more fun than a PS4 sitting there doing nothing when I have a top notch gaming PC already. Fuck exclusive titles!

I would say keep it. It seems like a hassle to keep returning it and buying it every time you want to check out a new game. There are few other exclusive ps4 games you could check out as well. Bloodborne is a game I would love to play but is only available on the PS4. The Last Guardian looks pretty interesting as well. The Last of Us 2 is coming eventually and that will definitely be worth checking out. I'm sure there are others but those are a few that I would think you can't play anywhere else that would make it worthwhile to keep the PS4.

Why do they have to be PS4 exclusives? Just play any game you like on it.

"Fuck exclusive titles!"
When considering which console to buy (PS4/XO) this didn't even come into the equation; for me it was hardware specs & price that I looked at... with a little "what do the small number of people I know IRL own so I can borrow/swap games".

I think the only exclusive I have is Uncharted 4 - never played any of the previous ones - it's very good/fun and looks brilliant but I must have only got through about half of it before going back to Fallout 4 full-time... It's just another game in the ever increasing backlog which I foolishly keep adding to.

Surely there are games that are on consoles (any of them), but not on PC, that can warrant the ownership of a console. To be honest, I don't care what you decide either way, it's up to you, but all I can say is: I bought my PS3 back in the day just for Gran Turismo 5 and it took me quite a while before I got anything else for it. But once I started looking around the PS-store, I always came across cheap games I wouldn't mind playing on it, both retro and new stuff. Stuff I probably would never play on PC, but were more suited for consoles, like, in my case: old arcade games.

Depends on your budget and what you can afford. Your choice of course. But I vote the same as the other guys, if you can afford the PS4 Pro and you think you'll want more games for it eventually, might as well keep it. Sure, $400 is a lot for a console, but not much at all compare to the price of a PC. imo, consoles are bargain gaming, even a console at $400. Many (if not most) games are ported from console to PC, so the console versions will quite often play better or so they say. My advice... Look at the games on your wishlist, then consider sale price and reviews (such as though on Metacritic), before deciding on the PC or console version. Reviews will often tell you when a game has a shitty PC port and is better purchased for a console. Playstation store has a big sale going on right now. "The Heavy Rain™ & BEYOND: Two Souls™ Collection" is on sale, and that's 2 other games not available on Steam/PC. store.playstation.com/#!/en-us/games/the-heavy-rain-beyond-two-souls-collection/cid=UP9000-CUSA02533_00-BEYONDHEAVYRAINU

I noticed that Slacker has been playing Star Wars Battlefront on PSN quite a lot. A true slacker... he abandoned the original Slackercentral forums, yet he has time for console/peasant gaming. heheh... I'll send him a note linking to this thread and maybe he'll connect with some of you guys on PSN (if he hasn't done so already). I realize some of you might not have converted to peasant gaming at that time, way back when we shared our PSN handles on the old forums.

I'm actually considering getting a PS4 Pro instead of upgrading my PC this year. I've been using the same gaming PC since 2012, still very happy with it and there's lots of games on the PS4 I want to play.

I sent Slacker a note on PSN with a link to these forums, inviting him to post here.

I'd let Slacker, CotmWeasel, LastShogun know you joined too, if they want to share their PSN handles. Keep in mind though, online multiplayer for PS4 requires a PS Plus membership. On amazon.com, a 12 month membership sells for $60. You can do 1 month or 3 month membership too (if you want to try it out first), but 12 month membership is the best value. PS Plus membership isn't bad though, as they give 2 free games per month and discount on many games (however, i think you lose the free games if you ever cancel your membership).

Guys, there are a number of games available (or soon to be available) on PS4 and not currently on PC.
These are just a few I've looked at recently... Gravity Rush 2, Final Fantasy XV, God of War III (remake/remastered), Kingdom Hearts HD II.8, Dragon Quest Builders, Odin Sphere Leifthrasir (remake/remastered), Ratchet & Clank, The King of Fighters XIV, The Last of Us (remastered), Horizon Zero Dawn (new release next month), Journey. Not to mention dozens (perhaps hundreds) of classics ported from PS2/PS3 to PS4.
Whether you like any of these games or not is matter of personal preference. But many of them have good reviews.

Steam is great. It has a slick UI and downloads are much faster than PSN. By far, most of the games I own are on Steam.
Honestly, I signed up for Playstation Plus for the 2 free games per month, not the online gaming features. imo, the free games make it a good value (with the 1-year subscription, that is... it costs twice as much if you pay for it month to month).
