These have been in my steam library for a while so I decided to give them a go. I liked the first one a lot, too many feels near the end. Second one I thought was even better than the first. Tons more feels. Honestly it's the first game I've ever played that had me tearing up near the end. They are completely independent of the TV series, though there have been a couple inconsequential cameos. If you're a fan of point and click adventures with a bit more action then this will be enjoyable. Really the best description is a choose your own adventure interactive story. You can make decisions that other group members will remember and react to later. Season 2 pulls your save file from Season 1 so even smaller decisions from the first one crop up in Season 2 from time to time. I recommend them both.

I played Part 1 for a few hours and lost interest. Need to try it again.

I enjoyed Telltale's The Walking Dead games, the end of the first season almost made me cry, probably the only time a videogame has ever successfully pulled my heartstrings. The second season is also really good, there's some big choices at the end but unfortunately, those choices don't really matter in season 3. Season 3 (aka A New Frontier) is still very good, hopefully the next 3 episodes will be better.
Telltale's Game of Thrones game is pretty good as well, especially if you like the show. There's actually a few actors from the show who reprise their respective roles in the game. Haven't played their Batman or Borderlands game but The Wolf Among Us is good.
I also enjoyed their Back to the Future game, it kinda reminded me of if they'd made a Back to the Future 4, though it did have some crappy puzzles I didn't care for. Christopher Lloyd actually voices the Doc in the game, also Claudia Wells does the voice of Jennifer, which she played the role of her in the original movie. Michael J Fox doesn't voice Marty but he does make a cameo in an episode as one of Marty's ancestors.
They're also working on a Guardians of the Galaxy game.
If you like these kind of games, Life is Strange is also worth checking out, the first episode is free now.

Yeah, I'm waiting for all the episodes before playing 3. Maybe catch it in a humble bundle like I did for Season 1&2.
The 400 days DLC for season 1 was pretty cool also, more so after seeing the effects and people in Season 2.
I actually already own Back to the Future, Game of Thrones, and Sam and Max, haven't played them though. I never played the old Sam and Max adventure games, but I've always heard good things. Speaking of point and clicks I wish I'd played by now... Grim Fandango.

Oh yeah there's a character from the comic and TV show that appears in season 3 of the game, I won't spoil who it is but it seems like he'll definitely be a major character.
There's also a Telltale game based on Michonne but I haven't played that one. I wouldn't be surprised if their Michonne character appears in season 3 too.

Is it Negan? Prepare for more 20 minut speeches then.

It's not Negan, though a character similar to him (or maybe similar to The Governor) appears as an antagonist in season 2, voiced by Michael Madsen who did a great job. Also a bad group similar to The Saviors is in season 3 of the game.
Glenn and Hershel appear briefly in season 1 but they haven't been shown again so far. Early in the season Glenn ends up leaving to Atlanta, which is where Glenn in the show meets Rick. Also in the game, Hershel has a son named Shawn who dies during the events of the first episode, in the show his son Shawn is among the walkers locked in the barn. In the game, he dies in a way that he would come back as a walker too.
So even though the game has a completely different story from the show, there might actually be some connections.

Yeah, I saw him in one of the previews for season 3. Pretty excited to see him, he's one of my favorite comic book characters and I like his TV character as well.

In A New Frontier you play as a new character, not Clementine, also 2 years have passed. I think it's possible future episode(s) may be from Clementine's point of view though. They did a great job even though she's another character from the player-character's point of view, but she's definitely a bit more cold and ruthless than last season.
