^I had gotten pretty far on the first game, but one day I went back to play it and found that somehow my game is further back than where I'd left off. Kinda put me off but I do plan on finishing it someday, it is a good game.

Tomorrow is the day! W00t! Save $10 and get it from cdkeys but might have to wait till night to get the key (they've always been poor on day one releases for me..had to wait nearly two days for my key before) or pay an extra $10 from Steam and get it right away and be able to refund after installing and playing it?

Wasn't it originally 3/31? Might be mistaken but if it was, that's nice of them to bump it to a sooner date.

Ok, took the chance on CD Keys because the site said "In Stock" this time and got the Steam activation key right away. I was just reading on the Steam forums that pre-loading is sometimes slower than just downloading it when it releases because of the slow decryption process so I don't know if I want to pre-load or not. Looks like a 96GB download... I'm anxious to see how my 3080Ti OC handles it at 4k....will this force me into a 4090? Well tomorrow if the weather was nice I was going to go to Home Depot and buy supplies to build new steps... Hemorrhaging money around every corner lol. I might at least pick up a PS5 controller to play it with all the fancy trigger feedback (even though I sort of already own one, but it's at my friends house).

This game was released over two years ago on PS5. See, that's the difference between Xbox and PS. If you want to play Xbox "exclusives" on PC, there's pretty much no wait (vs years for PS). store.steampowered.com/app/1716740/Starfield/

All the PS users swore to their life that their exclusives would never in a million years come to the PC. I almost feel like I had a hand in it, back when Sony had official PS forums I complained relentlessly about not having their games like Zero Dawn on the PC to be able to play in high quality and high framerate instead of miserable input lag and slow eye watering framerates and next thing you know, Zero Dawn is their first exclusive released onto the PC lol. I literally fell out of my chair when I seen Zero Dawn available on Steam I thought that I was dreaming I was like no way in hell lol.

Actually was thinking about pre-ordering but might wait until I finish the first one. If you haven't finished the first one by now, it's honestly probably not your cup of tea. If I start a game and don't finish it to completion I rarely if ever return to finish it. I've never finished a GTA game, best I've done is about 75%. My only exception that I can think of starting, putting it down for a while then picking it back up to completion is Jedi Fallen Order.

Wanna know what's even more hyperbolic? The skyrocketing cost of PC's and PC components, especially gpu's. Jokes aside, the reason for more so-called "exclusives" coming to PC is that PC (market) has outgrown consoles.. Gaming consumers have voted and said they don't give a shit about gpu prices. imo, alot of it has to do with gaming becoming an increasingly online activity and being interwoven with social platforms (Twitch, Discord, etc) - therefore people want faster frames to stay competitive (and probably more bragging rights too, in many cases).

If it makes you feel any better, I haven't finished RDR 2 either.

Well the game is running good enough to where I don't feel the urge to get a 4090 now. I'm not even using any DLSS/upscaling. I'm running at full native 4k with DLAA with Gsync and it's looking good and playing smooth enough. If you ever play this I found turning down sharpening in game helps with eliminating jaggy'ish edges and pixel crawling...I don't know how to really explain it but turning the sharpening all the way down looks the best to me and at native 4k it still looks sharp as hell.

Some person on Reddit told me Horizon Forbidden West has broken HDR that maxes out at 300 nits. With a fix from Nexusmods it has full range. I've only played like 30 minutes max of the first game. I'll finish it eventually www.nexusmods.com/horizonforbiddenwest/mods/10

But how does a top porting company like Nixxes fudge something so major as the HDR? It reminds of the nvidia Detonator days where every other driver none of the color sliders would work.

I also heard that disabling "Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling" in windows display settings helps this game run smoother.

I also heard that disabling "Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling" in windows display settings helps this game run smoother. I know that feature is needed for other games so I would test that before I leave it off.
