It has reached a stopping point for many reasons, a small part also related to lack of resources to properly maintain. The most prominent reason being the toxic behavior exhibited by so many, where the behavior has not changed in the least and actually gotten worse over the past year. I do appreciate everyone who has ever put so much into the site, with their time, effort, devotion, and passion over the years. It wouldn't have been possible without them. Beyond3D is now closed."

Damn. I wonder what the behavior was? I know one of the reasons Evil Avatar closed is how far removed it was from our early 2000s heyday on the forums. People went from being "Libertarian" to full on Trump facism, like every post about video games was the culture wars in the comments. I tried to read the comments a few times and gave up it was such a cesspit

I used to read the HardOCP forums as well but moved on when they refused to benchmark videocards at the same resolution, plus the staff there were douchbags. Other hardware sites felt far more adult and professional.

One place I remember hanging around a lot was the official forums for Counter-Strike, it's probably still there but not sure about if the same people would still be there.
lol I remember one time this dude posted a picture of him and his friend on a rollercoaster, he looked very enthused but his friend was clenching the seats in front of him, looking like he was about to pass a kidney stone. It turned into a huge thing where both faces got photoshopped into lots of pictures, which was hilarious. *edit* and nope was wrong, looks like the official forums on counter-strike.net no longer exist.
