Epic games even pulled it off their own store and shut down all the master servers. Crazy I won't be able to randomly jump online and pwn newbs in UT anymore. UT is what made Epic Games. WTF is this world coming to?

Local multiplayer is fun. Online, you find toxic ppl and cheaters.

Arena shooters are a dead genre, they are not very n00b friendly and the community moved on a long time ago. Quake Champions is still around but last I checked its player count was low.
Did you try Fortnite? The Zero Build mode is fun. I hate the building.

Local multiplayer is fun. Around the time of Quake 2-3, UT and the early builds of Counterstrike we were having regular LAN parties. Pack up the entire PC, 17"-19"CRT screen included, meet up with a bunch of guys in the back room of some bar or community center and kill each other all day long. I never enjoyed the online experience quite as much. |

In UT2004.ini and ut2004-win64.ini replace these two lines: MasterServerList=(Address="ut2004master1.epicgames.com",Port=28902) MasterServerList=(Address="ut2004master2.epicgames.com",Port=28902) with MasterServerList=(Address="utmaster.openspy.net",Port=28902) Play game as normal. Finally got to play the game for the first time on cable internet with a 8 to 12ms ping.  |

I haven't played UT in over a decade. I remember back in 2003-04 I ran into one of my old clan members in my college parking lot and I actually had just bought Unreal 2004. I thought UT2k4 was going to be my new addiction, I stopped playing it in less then a month. Went back to CS.
Will always love this track tho

I actually liked the new one that was unreleased/alpha or whatever. I really don't want to have to play 2004 to get my "few times a year" UT fix but it's better than nothing.
