imo, this is arguably the biggest discovery in Biology since Watson & Crick's discovery of DNA, considering the implications. Life being able to survive inside of rock for billions of years means that life could travel on an asteroid for billions of years, between star systems, and seed itself across the galaxy. An asteroid of sufficient size could shield the bacteria from cosmic radiation and we already know that there are bacteria with high resistance to radiation (in space).

]I can't believe I watched that entire video. I've always found the speed running community fascinating but I don't have the patience to play the same map 10,000 times. I would rather go to the gym or go bike then do that. I know some of the pros like Fatal1ty back in the day would watch the speed running community closely for any sort of trick to traverse the levels faster and get powerups quicker. Anything to get a "2% advantage"

I've read nothing about the Joker sequel. I'm guessing Lady Gaga's character isn't actually real and just an imaginary friend of his?

I haven't seen the sequel, but I'm aware that much of the first movie supposedly took place in his head and its up to the viewer to figure out (Arthur's) reality vs imagination/lunacy. That's one of the reasons it scored so big w/ audiences despite the relatively modest budget - they didn't hand-hold the audience, something that seems almost a lost art in Hollywood.

Haven't heard much about Joker 2 but I do know they've been hyping up Lady Gaga being in it. Kinda doubt they would make her character just imaginary, but that is possible.

Bringing up Hannibal Lecter over and over isn't creepy at all It's ultra cringe rather than creepy, imo. I think there's a case to be made that Hannibal Lecter is (very) dark humor. One of my uncles said so (about the sequel) and I kinda agree, given how many times Hannibal Lecter scenes have been made parody of by other actors in movies and such. I know Jim Carrey's done this at least once or twice.

This looks awesome. Somehow I missed that Voxel Doom was complete for Doom 2 almost a year ago:

All that work and the only thing you really notice it on are the corpses or when he freezes the scene and walks around the monsters. In motion it all just looks the same because the monster-animations still only have them walk in 8 directions despite now being fully 3D. Still, I applaud the effort...

Since this video its been updated more, in addition to the monsters the walls/floors all have parallax so they are 3D. It looks really good.

Graphics cards weren't designed around or optimized for Voxels, so building a voxel-based game is a bigger software engineering challenge. They likely code it in C++ to optimize performance and that's a harder programming language to code in, requiring you to build more of your own custom code.

Ukraine was supposed to lose in 2 days but Russia couldn't pull it off. Russia has a history of terrible war performance. WW1 especially
