Ukraine was supposed to lose in 2 days but Russia couldn't pull it off. Russia has a history of terrible war performance. WW1 especially Russia fought on the side of the Allies in WWI and, historically speaking, it's counted as a victory for them too. Remember Microsoft lost their anti-trust case. Then the Republicans won and Bush made the whole thing go away quietly. If Trump wins nothing will happen to Google. EDIT: Actually Trumps Supreme Court is going to make sure nothing happens to any business and will invalidate any lower ruling. |

yeah, Microsoft was split up in the EU, but the monopoly continued here in the US.
Google needs to be broken up badly. It's a dangerous game, allowing corporations to grow so massive & powerful, to the point they have powerful influence over govt. If left unchecked, they could usurp power from govt and, in many ways, they already have (being the primary source for information that ppl go to and controlling peoples' speech and freedom of expression).

It makes sense after you consider that Russia is a nuclear power, with offensive nuclear weapons, and Putin openly admitting that they'll resort to nukes (likely, small yield, tactical nukes) before giving up territory. Ukraine currently has zero nuclear deterents, so Ukraine has a very strategic reason to capture it. i.e. Ukraine controlling a Russian nuclear power plant in itself would be a nuclear deterent. So it actually does make a fair amount of sense if that's one of their targets.

When a company can afford to build superfluous structures (like the Nintendo Museum) and not bat an eye, you know they're raking it in hand over fist.
Granted, it's pocket change compared to the six man-made islands that Google built (one shaped for each letter in GOOGLE). They're probably conducting what would be illegal AI experiments (building a Skynet-like AI) and who knows what else on these islands, outside of government jurisdictions. Google really should be taxed more or broken up into separate companies.
