I picked me up a nice used 2010 Kawasaki KFX450R fuel injected race quad (they only made these from 2008 to 2014 and Yamaha is the only manufacture who currently makes race sport ATVs brand new). The 1998 Yamaha Blaster's bottom barrel suspension was killing me and they aren't very powerful either, basically an entry level budget ATV. The nitrogen gas charged shocks on the newer race ATV is soooooo good, it rides so plush like a Cadillac and roots and bumps that would buck and bounce me around on the Blaster I don't even notice that I'm riding over anything on this quad - it just floats over stuff like it's not even there. The fuel injected 450cc 4-stroke motor has instant on power delivery with zero throttle lag and at full throttle you only spend a split second in a gear before shifting into the next roost slinging gear - it's basically the Porsche 911 of ATVs. The all-aluminum frame on this thing is the lightest frame ever put on an ATV and looks beefy as hell. I can't wait for some better weather to take it over to PA with my friend to the big coal pits with all the hill climbs....hopefully two weekends from now it's supposed to hit a high of 50f (only 18f this weekend) and hopefully the 60% chance of rain will hold out.

Nice! I just today accepted a job making over $10,000 a year more then my last job. I have a few things I want to buy to celebrate. I want a new Macbook Air M2 since my Air is from 2017 and getting slow even for casual browsing AND it isn't getting anymore security updates. It looks like Apple is releasing a new fancy 15 inch Macbook Air in a couple months so that is tempting.

So I went to the local tech pawnshop to look at the M1 Macs. They had a 2020 Macbook Pro 2020 M1 for $600 and I talked him down to $500 since it has body damage but it turns out besides the body damage it wouldn't connect to Wifi, needs a new Wifi card so fuck that. I went home Today I went back, they had a pink 2020 Macbook Air M1 but it had no OS installed. I guess the pink ones are the least popular but I couldn't care less about color. It kept getting stuck trying to install the OS. The they found a dark gray 2020 Macbook Air M1 that only had 12 cycles on the battery. They tried to tell me it was $675 but I pointed out last night they said $500 so they let me take it for that. I was thinking of getting one of the new fancy 2023 15" Macbook Airs when they release in March but eh. For light web browsing/travel I don't need something that fancy.
