I won't be able to play it since it's going to be a PS5 exclusive, at least for a few years. Oh well....back to searching on the PC for something interesting...may the force be with me...

Dayz doesn't look like my cup of tea. Tried the Doom demo when it first came out and didn't care for it. In fact, I don't recall ever enjoying any iD software game before.

I was going to buy a new computer to play GTA5, didn't happen. Then Doom, didn't happen. Still using the same computer because they're too expensive now and it's better if I wait a little longer.

They're not too expensive, you're just too poor, cupcake. Anyway, the game in question is now out but....I'm pretty sure I'll resist playing on a ghey 30fps console so hopefully it will get released on the PC by the time I'm on a RTX 23980123098230982309821Ti OC 732197231GB.

Something I've never understood is when a next gen console is released, and it's priced higher than the previous gen (but still only in the hundreds of $'s range), people all over complain about it being too expensive. Conversely, in the world of PC gaming, when a full rig or even a graphics card is priced in the thousands of $'s, many of those same people call you poor if you complain about those prices.

GTA V is a great game but I got so burned out on it, I think I did pretty much everything there is to do in it.
I'm glad I waited so long to play RDR 2, looking forward to playing more.

I tried to force myself to play through GTA5 because its such an iconic game but I made it 35% though the story and burned out. Too boring.

There's also GTA Online, it's fun, but last time I played there were too many hackers. Not even cheaters who were looking to gain an unfair advantage, just people intentionally disrupting the game for everyone by throwing money at random players until Rockstar banned them after being flagged for having an impossible amount of funds. There was another hack where there were suddenly a bunch of random world objects around your character. The hackers would get banned from the server, but then another hacker would join the game and start doing the same stuff again. It was probably bots.
Also last I heard, Rockstar didn't really care about it.
It might be better now, but I uninstalled the game to free up space and don't really feel like reinstalling it.

This video kind of exemplifies what I'm talking about. When a console goes up price by $30 - 50, people all over the world shit themselves. Not so with hundreds/thousands price increases for PC or PC parts purchases. Obviously, Sony has to raise prices because inflation is insane right now. Also, Sony probably needs the money to pay for chip manufacturing facilities they plan on building in Japan (to have a long-term plan and ability to overcome the issue of extended China C19 lockdowns have in creating these global chip shortages).

That's exactly why I don't play any online games anymore and I was one who was legit without a hack made it into the top 5 in UT2004 worldwide deathmatch stats. Way too many idiots and assholes. Not to mention I hate lag and my home internet still sucks (new cable has been ran but the telco is suing them over telephone pole rights so its currently in limbo) lol. Give me a good offline single player game...fuck online gaming and fuck the scumbag human race...bunch of corrupted & cheating bastiges lol.

Because poor people buy consoles and can barely afford them...probably fast food/retail workers paying top dollar rents with no money to spare. The people like me buying a RTX 3080 Ti can afford to buy multiple flagship videocards and $50 isn't even a squirt of piss to us lol. In fact, I can go through $70 an hour in my Seadoo personal watercraft. There's your answer - the average console gamer is on a super strict budget with a low paying job, the average PC master race have paying jobs.

Except that you can have a paying job and still be poor. It's called having debt (credit cards, loans, medical bills, etc). The whole US system is built around debt traps and turning people into wage slaves. It eventually ensnares most Americans. If you don't behave like the extremely wealthy and amass a horde of wealth, it can be very difficult to escape the debt trap. btw, if you have a family, 9/10 they'll consume the majority of your disposable income. I've seen it happen/happening many times over.

I used to be into PC gaming back when it had more unique lineup of games not available on consoles. Nowadays, most PC games are available on console. While I do own tons of games on Steam, I'm just a casual gamer and don't really care all that much about having the best graphics or highest frames, so I don't feel an urge to spend thousands of $'s on the best gfx cards.

I can't play racing games without a billion fps at 4k HDR maxed to the maximus graphics settings, input lag will jerk you off hehe. I'm not kidding either...one of the MXGP games I could beat the AI on the hardest setting by miles on the PC but I kept crashing in the corners on the PS4 Pro because of the billion milli's of input lag plus 30fps sucked putty nutz on the eyes. Luv my 3080Ti OC + 42" 120Hz LG C2 Oled....it's better than sex with an ole smelly hagged out twat littered with toilet paper scrap cling-ons. You know what I'm talking about.

30fps in a racing game sucks and I think most people would agree. But, at the same time, 60fps is good enough for most people and the next gen consoles (PS5, Xbox Series X) can provide that (even if not always at the highest fidelity they offer - 4K and whatnot, depending on the game). Supposedly, Microsoft did a really good job with the latest Forza game and it runs smooth (and looks decent) on the Series S. Obviously tho, they had to sacrifice graphics quality compared to running it on the Series X.
Of course, higher fps and lower lag when gaming on a master race PC does offer a superior experience, especially in certain types of games (fighting games or FPS). I understand why it's important to serious gamers and if it makes you happy, go for it.

These days (as far as I know), Xbox games are also on PC at the same time and there's no exclusivity just for Xbox anymore. Not the same story with Playstation, but it seems that they do put their games on PC eventually. Sony's games on PC are optimized extremely well too, I couldn't believe how well games like Days Gone, Death Stranding, and even Horizon Zero Dawn ran on my GTX 1070.
But yeah, I think the cost of PC gaming is higher than it's ever been these days. Still, if you have the $$$ for it, I think PC gaming is the way to go.

It might actually be a good idea to upgrade your gfx card soon, since the chip stocks are getting hammered. digital.fidelity.com/prgw/digital/research/quote?symbol=NVDAI believe that's happening because it's looking like a China invasion of Taiwan is growing more likely with each passing day. They're saying that China has the greatest military build-up (amassing around/encircling Taiwan) of any country since WWII. Also, in today's news, China flew a military drone (or drones?) into Taiwan's airspace, Taiwan fired multiple warning shots, the drone wouldn't leave, then Taiwan shot it down. If China invades, Taiwan chip production for the high-end vid cards could come to a screeching halt, and then the only way to upgrade would be to pay thousands to scalpers.

I'm actually running an RTX 3080 now. It's overkill for 1440p, but that's okay, it will give more future-proofing in the long run. I actually have it underclocked right now so it doesn't use as much power. I've never bought a flagship graphics card before, I've always gone for the one just under that at most. This thing is a beast. I might upgrade to the new AMD Ryzen (socket AM5) when it comes out, but it's a big maybe. If I do get one, it will probably be the R7 7700X and I'll probably go with a mini ITX board and case this time. Still, a big maybe. The CPU I have now is the R7 3800X and it's complete overkill, doesn't seem to even bottleneck the 3080 at all. *edit* Okay I take that back, I have bought flagship graphics cards before, but a LONG time ago. I had a Voodoo 5 5500 and a Radeon 9800 Pro. Those were both flagship products of their time.

That looks like a great controller, I use my Xbox One controller for everything. Here's one from 8bitdo apparently modeled after the Xbox One controller. However, it bests the Xbox controller with "Hall effect sensing" joysticks. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B9BGJVLL/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1Rich at ReviewTechUSA reviewed a portable gaming device with the "Hall effect" type of joystick and he had nothing but good things to say about it (the "Hall effect sensing" sticks, specifically). It uses magnetic sensors and is contactless, which gives it a better feel and it supposedly outlasts standard type analog sticks.

I have an SN30 (the older/discontinued one that actually looks like an SNES controller) and an SN30 Pro from 8bitdo, both are outstanding products. Great company.
Been playing every game with the SN30 Pro, it feels great. I feel like using a smaller controller is better on my wrists too, seems like wrists are more idle when using a larger controller with grips. I think idle wrists while pushing buttons or typing can contribute to developing carpal tunnel syndrome.
I'm glad they fixed the analog sticks on the new SN30 Pro, I remember they used to get stuck on the old version which kept me from buying one.

I haven't thought about it before, but that's an interesting observation. As far as avoiding carpal tunnel from typing on a keyboard, wrists straight and fingers curved down at about a 90 degree angle or as much as possible. A smaller controller (for preventing carpal tunnel) makes sense, since your fingers wouldn't have to be as extended.
If you watched Star Trek:TNG, the character "Data" would always type with the proper form. lol I don't know if the actor, Brent Spiner, was a computer geek or if the screenwriters were smart enough to know that an android would perform most tasks consistently & accurately, wrote that in purposefully, and coached Brent to type that way.
