Those prices have come down a little but it's still ridiculous.

I'm still playing my PS Vita. I'm having fun...
Although I now do regret not buying a new PC last year. I'll have to hope this 10 year old one survives another year...

Not so much just the price, but the fact that you can only buy them through scalpers. I remember a time when you could go to any local mall to a Electronics Boutique or Babbages and pick up a Geforce II GTS or Voodoo 3/5 and now you can't even get a video card from the specialty stores like Newegg or Microcenter... Heck for many years you could buy flagship cards in store at Best buy....

I bought my GTX 1070 FE, and then later my GTX 2080 FE, at Best Buy, and then even later, like a fool, showed up at Best Buy on the day that the RTX 3080 was released, thinking that Best Buy would have them in store, and that demand would be about the same as always.
More hilarity at my expense ensued when I got home, and settled in to decide which one I would buy online.
"The horror, the horror", lol.
I bought my Voodoo 5 from a Staples. It was locked away in a glass display case, looking so precious. "Must have the precious!", lol.
As I've mentioned, I much later ended up buying a CyberPowerPC which I configured to have a RTX 3080, though they wouldn't specify which kind anyone would get. I think I came out pretty well, with this.

The huge uptick in demand (for gizmos, games, toys that guys like) likely some correlation with the red pill i.e. men dropping out of modern dating/relationships because it's a shitshow these days and, instead, investing more time pursuing hobbies & spending their monies elsewhere.
I understand that many blue pilled ppl think if it doesn't come straight from the media, then it's conspiracy or radical nonsense. But I'd say no, not here. The stats back up the red pill on this. Marriage and birth rates are at the lowest point in recorded history. When far fewer men are preoccupied with women consuming their time & resources, they spend their time & resources elsewhere.

I don't know about the part about tech products being cheaper because of the cheap/slave labor though. I think it's mostly done to pad profits (because prices really aren't that cheap considering how little $ goes into the labor). Delivering more affordable products to consumers is the least of corporations' concerns, at least, as long as the demand is there.

Sony made quality handheld consoles. Unlike the competition, the analog sticks on their handhelds and controllers don't start drifting after little to moderate use.
