Want visual quality? You must except shit response times...
Has anyone noticed that no matter which route with display tech you go these days there's always some major trade off in one aspect or another? Like all these new HDR gaming monitors aren't really bright enough to do proper HDR and in most cases don't look much different from SDR. Or to have good response times of a gaming monitor you have to accept edge light bleed, grey blacks, poor colors, etc... Then you look into some OLED TV that Linus is shilling as the ultimate gaming TV, 120Hz, fast response times, perfect blacks, and everything else, but then the caveats.... color accuracy is shit when in fast response time "gaming mode" and to have good color you're fucked with shit response times not to mention yet again another image "burn-in" tech... It's like...when is decent display tech that performs in all aspects without all the wonky trade-offs going to come to fruition?
My 75" HDR 4k TV looks breathtakingly awesome and has decent blacks with local dimming but is laggy as fuck and too slow for gaming unless you're playing some snail paced slow walking simulator like Until Dawn. My 27" Asus gaming monitor is fast as fuck but looks like crap in comparison....(back light bleed, grey blacks, etc...) I just want to take my TV and gaming monitor and cram them together into something that excels in all aspects with no trade offs, is that too much to ask? They keep coming out with new shit and it's the same rehash of trade offs over and over again with minimal advancement. It's like why worry about 240Hz+ when other issues don't get resolved?
