KOTOR might be too campy for movies, but it'd still be an improvement over the most recent trilogy. My last gf, from a couple of years ago, wanted to go see TLJ (because she's Vietnamese and a Vietnamese actress starred in the film... her reasoning). TLJ was her first exposure to Star Wars and, after we left the theater, she said she didn't like it. Unfortunately, Disney Star Wars was the first Star Wars that millions of people watched and, apparently, it didn't create many new fans (unlike the original trilogy). I didn't like it either and my interest in Star Wars isn't near what it used to be, even as just a casual fan. Mission accomplished, Disney. You've successfully "killed the past" and turned people off of Star Wars. Supposedly, there's tons of content (novels, comics, fan-made content) that was excellent and Disney de-canonized it (without even looking at it) as soon as they acquired the IP. They probably wanted to wipe the slate clean (just in case the old content didn't fit the new woke agenda & narrative). lol

I'd love to see a KotOR movie but if they were to follow the story of the first game, many would already know the plot twist, which it was one of the best plot twists ever.
But that's really cool that they made Revan canon.

But that's really coll that they made Revan canon. I still suspect that Kylo was loosely based on Revan, because some of his force powers were copied from KOTOR (Stasis and fear/insanity... both of which he used on Poe and, the latter, attempted on Rey). Edit: Actually, he might have attempted stasis on Rey too, but couldn't hold her for long. Not sure. It's been a while since I've seen the first Disney SW movie.

Ren always did remind me of Revan too, his mask and robes. Also his followers were called "Knights of Ren" which is similar to what Revan's followers were called (Revanites).

Minor spoilers for KOTOR2 but something I noticed from Rise of Skywalker {CLICK FOR SPOILER}Rey is a Palpatine but went light and Kylo is a Skywalker but went dark. Also Jedi "fall" all the time.
This is why the common folk in KOTOR2 refer to the whole conflict as the Jedi Civil War. What the fuck is the difference at the end of the day if they switch sides so easily?

I was thinking about how badly the new Star Wars trilogy lines up story-wise, especially going from ep8 to ep9. Either way they went with ep9, it was either going to piss off critics or fans. I'm just glad they decided to piss off critics instead of fans this time. There was one thing they did that created a huge plot hole though. {CLICK FOR SPOILER} Luke giving Rey his old X-Wing was one of my favorite parts, except that his X-Wing was not even intact in the last movie. This is further evidenced by the fact that Luke had to force project himself across space to confront Kylo Ren in the last movie. So if the X-Wing was intact and operational, why didn't Luke just use it to get to where Kylo Ren was in the first place? Instead he used the force to project himself which ended up killing him. It's possible that his X-Wing was somehow repaired, but if that's the case then why was it still in the water?

The main issue with these movies was the story and lack of continuity. So I can't put most of the blame on the directors. It's not even Rian Johnson's fault, as bad as Ep8 was, because he didn't write the story and he was compelled to follow KK's creative direction (because she's already fired many directors on various film projects at that point)! Also, imo, KK's writing team should have been diverse (not more diverse, but at least somewhat diverse). They were all white females (and mostly recent high school grads, from the look of 'em). lol If she had included one or two men, minorities, and at least one uber scifi nerd who knows Star Wars backwards & forward, then maybe the trilogy would have more structure and continuity from one film to the next.

There's good news though. KK's contract is up in 2021. Disney already announced that they want to take the next SW trilogy in a new direction and KK will have no creative input in the next trilogy. Evidently, the first Disney SW trilogy didn't make as money as the execs at Disney hoped. As the saying goes, money talks. Kennedy actually came out and apologized for how she handled the franchise, probably hoping that Disney will change their minds.
