So, the first episode dropped. Barely 40 minutes as opposed to the expected 60 minute runtime. Western inspired look and locations, but still fitting within the SW universe I'd say. I certainly didn't hate it and I can't say I was very hyped for it. Best things for me: all the little Star Wars details and all the practical make-up and creatures. It didn't go nuts with the CGI, which was nice.
I'll reserve any comments on the plot for when there's some more of it to discuss but at the end I got Clone Wars-movie flashbacks. If you saw the episode, you'll know what I mean...

I watched it a second time, with the kid. The bit with the IG-88 droid is pretty fun.

In that episode that droid was referred to as IG-11, I don't think it's IG-88 from TESB. Appears to be the same type though, some kind of assassin droid. {CLICK FOR SPOILER} Baby Yoda is awesome.

So here's a theory I have that may very well be complete bullshit but hear me out: I think the Mandalorian might turn out to be a woman. I know he's supposedly being played by a male actor but either that guy has a weird walk or there's more going on because when he walks, it's definately somewhat of a female stride. They're also making a whole point of a Mandalorian never removing his helmet so that's an easy way to hide your identity. Leia used a voice modulator before as well, so that explains the voice...
People also insist on calling him Mando, which I've guessed is just short for Mandalorian and not actually his name, but subconsciously it keeps imprinting MAN(do) in your mind. And I'm not saying a man would kill a baby on sight, but that might also explain that whole dynamic a little...
So far there's also been a complete lack of females in the series (some of those Jawas might've been, I don't know them that well) and if the times are anything to go by, that's not going to fly anymore...

Chapter 3 was great, best episode so far. *edit* As for the shortage of female characters, Gina Carano is going to be in it at some point. Also (might be a spoiler) {CLICK FOR SPOILER} the Mandalorian blacksmith is a woman.

How bad was episode 4? Straight up stupid episode in every conceivable way. There was so much that annoyed me in that episode, too much to list. I can't believe they used the exact same 'villagers defending themselves with sticks'-bit they used in Army of Darkness. Like literally the same 3 movements, but there it was done comedically, here they meant it...

I agree, Episode 4 was the weakest so far, felt like a pointless filler episode.

This is one of the few shows I’ve really enjoyed and wanted to watch on my own accord in the last 5 years. The only other that comes to mind is The Expanse. Luckily Season 4 is about to drop!

Latast episode was pretty good although I have to say it's got a lot to do with nostalgia again. Mos Eisley, speeder bikes, sand people and banthas and dewbacks.
Is it just me or did that guy that hired the Mandalorian sound EXACTLY like Hayden Christensen? At times I was trying to figure out if it was him or not. Turned out not to be him, but you could've fooled me...

I watched all 5 episodes tonight pretty decent so far. I'm just glad to see the Mandalorians getting some recognition outside of the Kotor games:

The whole story about the Jedi/Mandalorian war was very interesting, but I think that was part of the canon that Disney got rid of.

There's also some Mandalorian episodes in Clone Wars. But I do seem to remember they had no problems taking off their helmets in that though.

I thought it was good, although it was another episode that didn't really go anywhere or advance the story/plot anymore. I think there's only 2 episodes left for this season, I hope it doesn't end the same way as the last several episodes. That one Twi'lek character (Xi'an) was very annoying.

That was Natalia Tena, English actress. She was in some of the Harry Potter movies and also in an episode of Black Mirror (White Christmas). The annoying thing was how she kept doing that cat hiss thing, it got old fast.

While the episode in and of itself was pretty decent, it annoys me they're just doing the standalone episodes thing, just like the cartoon series. I hope that's not par for the course when they start launching the Marvel series. And here's Loki doing a heist-episode, and this is the Loki trapped in a small space-episode, here Loki encounters a character from his past that we haven't seen before and won't see again having an adventure,... you know where I'm going with this...

I woke up at exactly 3:00am this morning (Friday) and that happens to be exactly when The Mandalorian episodes premiere.
Still 25 minutes to go but it's another great episode so far. *edit* Yep, another great episode. Also it was directed by Taika Waititi.

In typical Disney money-grabbing fashion, they launched Disney+ here in Belgium earlier this week but they're still releasing the Mandalorian Season 1 episodes one episode at a time so you have to pay for at least 2 months if you want to watch all of them, lol.

They released them weekly here in the US as well. I do kinda wish it was like Netflix though, where they release all of the episodes at the same time.
If it makes you feel any better, there are shows from Europe that get delayed releases here in the US. I still want to watch seasons 5 and 6 of Friday Night Dinner.

Season 2 premiere on Friday, can't wait. I think the first season's episodes were released some time around 3-4am, hopefully it will be the same for S2.

New episode was good.
{CLICK FOR SPOILER} The story involved these villagers on Tatooine banding together with the Sand People to lure a Krayt Dragon out of its cave and kill it using buried explosives. Will probably sound familiar to anyone who has played KotOR.

Guess they're going to keep doing this episodic thing, with a villain of the week, and only a loose thread throughout the series. That being said, I did kinda love this episode, because of all the fan-service details, like the podracer engined speeder. I only just found out that mechanic woman is the one that does the voice of the cat in Bojack Horseman. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it.
