If you maggots are talking about streaming games fuck that shit! Tried it before and fuck that input lag and having to rely on a net connection to play a streamed compressed video! Games are starting to get a little too reliant and intertwined with the internet! Fuck... it almost makes me want to go back to the Amiga/C64/Apple IIc/NES/Saturn/N64/PS1 where you just put the fucking game/disc in and it works... no hours of downloading patches and updates and being so reliant on the internet! Heck where I live the net is actually going backwards! I had 10mbit (paid for 10, could only be provisioned for 8) and now the fastest that they offer is only 3mbit! And you want to force me to rely fully on a net connection to play not even multiplayer games when we can't even get broadband to everyone in supposedly the best and richest country in the world? Yea sounds fucking dumb! Some of the Youtuber gaming channels say they have 1gb (up & down) fiber connections and the streaming game services are still laggy as shit. Google's Stadia will have some feature involving AI algorithms that learn a gamer's control input patterns to predict button presses. It sounds like the mediocre Robocop movie that came out a few years ago, where Murphy/Robocop had the illusion of control even though it was really a cpu/AI controlling his movements.

Well it was inevitable that one day games would start going to streaming just like movies. I guess one plus is, we won't have to worry so much about hardware requirements anymore.

Which is ironic because consumer PC's are more than capable of keeping up with (actually, outpacing) the software. Streaming content is like the golden goose for these companies because it makes piracy much more difficult (if not impossible) and creates perpetual revenue streams. Instead of only making purchases when you have the time & money and are in the mood for a new game, you pay reliably every month.

I tried Gears 5 and on Ultra it might just have the best shadows I have ever seen in a video game. Its hard to describe why there is a certain way the light fills the scene especially from a flashlight. The gameplay tho is VERY on rails. Its almost like those old arcade games with the guns where you just shot and the game drove.
There has been a huge backlash against Gears 5 in some circles but I haven't played enough of the series to even have an opinion on that drama.

I used to play the first one with friends a lot, the multiplayer is still one of the best I've ever played, the singleplayer was also great. I remember GoW 1 actually being pretty bar-raising.

So pay attention to the quests in Outer Worlds, I started a quest yesterday morning and went to a different planet to finish it. The quest required me to bring items back to the original NPC. I forgot that part and sold 2/3 of the items to a person on the new planet. I could have spent time going back to a previous save but eh. Ended up getting less money, there was a chance to override but it required like 85 persuasion and my skill is only in the 60s right now.

Yeah I've had to refer to quest notes a lot to know what to do, where to go and who to talk to. No botched quests yet.

I had been wanting to check out this game, looked interesting to me. It's available on Xbox Game Pass now: store.steampowered.com/app/414340/Hellblade_Senuas_Sacrifice/So far I think it's very good, it looks great and has a very spooky and intense atmosphere, great game for Halloween. There's puzzles you have to figure out and some melee combat, also without spoiling too much, the main character has limited life throughout the game and once it runs out there's permadeath. The game does autosave but once the main character dies, all progress is lost and you have to start from the beginning again. The beginning was very long and drawn out, but it looks very good. The "voices" do get kind of repetitive. If I had to describe it, I'd say it kinda reminds me of those new Tomb Raider games with schizophrenia mixed in.

I just now got my Spotify Premium code, good up through May 2020. Funny I have never subscribed to Spotify, Apple Music, etc. Just got set in my ways. I doubt anything will get me to give up having my local music tho

I've been using Spotify for most of this year, I am happy with it. I have been able to find songs on Youtube Music that I couldn't find on Spotify so there's that to consider and there's also Pandora. You can get all of them for free but they each have their own drawbacks.

I saw that. It keeps telling me my subscription's about to end and to renew it but when I click the link, the page never loads up after I log in.

One cool thing I found out is on Xbox Gamepass if you have the app on your phone and your PC is on you can install games on your PC from your phone.

Xbox Game Pass has been problematic for me lately, first it kept trying to install updates but kept failing which made it impossible to play certain games, which included The Outer Worlds. I restarted a few times and logged out and back into the Xbox app a few times and somehow that made it work. Then another problem arose where some games I've had installed and played are not working anymore, like Descenders. I uninstalled and tried to reinstall it but it keeps getting an error when install gets to 100%. Guess I'll try logging out and back in and restarting again.

I tried that Hellblade game but didn't make it very far I need to go back and finish. I'm still paying for it its cheap enough I don't mind it at all.

I hadn't looked at Xbox Game Pass in a while, they have Wolfenstein Youngblood. I didn't really want to buy it after reading reviews but I'm definitely gonna try it on XGP.
*edit* Yep just like they said in the reviews, it's a co-op only game but labeled as a singleplayer game. I can't find a way of playing the game solo, the only options in the main menu are to host or join a game. I uninstalled it for now.
