I got a notification to update Java but when it came up, it recommended to uninstall it since it hadn't been used in 6 months. I know a while back they reported there being severe security vulnerabilities with Java. I don't think I've ever seen a program recommend to uninstall itself though, that was interesting.
I did uninstall it.

I hate Java with a passion simply because it adds to my workload.
Back in the day when I was doing medical IT the only version of java that worked for a certain program required by the state was 5 years old. Think of all the security vulnerabilities on those computers running software that obsolete.

Yeah I work in IT and none of the apps we use go through Java, thankfully.
