Can't seem to keep up with Youtube videos that I want to watch - my watch later playlist has like 250+ videos on it and I currently have like 20 tabs open with Youtube videos that I know if I add them to my watch later playlist I'll never watch them since the backlog is too big already and I'll lose interest by the time I got to them. Never have time to even start to look at Netflix and I'm a subscriber. When I log onto Facebook I literally can never get to the end of my newsfeed, all the posts from friends, all the posts from groups I belong to, etc....it never ends. All the information that I want at my finger tips is there. What friend is eating what for what meal today... Who's kid has a broken leg... That chronic complainer, what are they complaining about now... I have video games that I bought several years ago that I haven't even started, same with movies. Everyone that I know personally thinks I'm good with computers and tech in general, but I feel like I struggle to keep my knowledge of everything up to snuff. Playing an online game and trying to stay competitive in it when it's you vs the world is really taxing... And then trying to keep up with all my hobbies.... It's like AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! SYSTEM OVERLOAD!!!!!!!
Anyone else feel the same way that we're in an information and entertainment overload era?

Absolutely - no question about it. It's probably a good idea for many ppl to scale it down a notch and dedicate a couple of days a week to avoiding technology (like Spielberg suggested through the main protagonist in the movie "Ready Player One"). lol
It's good for your health too. Studies have shown that spending a few hours a week surrounding yourself with greenery (going to the park, etc.) lowers your blood pressure.

Just impose limits for yourself. You don't have to see and play everything. Just ask yourself: "Do I really, really want to know what this person is showing me?" If the answer is no, just skip it, after a while you won't even miss it anymore. I feel this is especially true for Facebook and youtube. I stick to a few certain internet entertainment providers, like Kevin Smith, Redlettermedia, Zero Punctuation, Racingfail and the Angry Video Game Nerd (and the movies he reviews) so there's enough time left for watching actual movies (and series), which I feel deserve my attention more than just regular people spouting bullshit on youtube.
I don't (really) do Facebook and use no other form of social media because in the end, I don't feel like I'm missing much.
I don't need to see every new movie and series just because they're easily available nowadays. More and more I find myself selecting them beforehand and only going for the ones that really interest me. Sure, I might miss some good ones but overall I have enough experience by now to be a pretty good judge of whether or not something might be for me or not so I rarely feel like I've wasted my time. I don't need to see anything based on yound adult literature anymore, have seen enough (jumpscare) ghost movies, don't bother with just about any American CGI animated movies, etc

With so much new stuff out there its been difficult to keep up on everything. When I was a teen I watched movies constantly but now I have a million hour backlog. I see 10% of what is new. Doesn't help that I find superheros boring and every new movie is about superheros it seems.
For years I meant to go back and play Oblivion with a ton of mods. I spent a good long while getting it modded. Put about 2 hours into the game and got distracted.
I have been a huge fan of the Thief series since the original demo in 1998(side note the 20 year anniversary is November 30th and a bunch of anniversary missions are being released on ttlg.com). There are dozens and dozens of fan missions I have never played. Every couple years I will play 1 or 2 but that isn't enough to make a dent. Not even counting The Dark Mod which isn't Thief proper but is basically the same thing made with the Doom 3 engine.

The amount of user created content out in the world is completely insane. I'm not sure how anyone could realistically believe they can keep up with it. A few years back I remember reading that there are thousands of hours worth of video loaded into YouTube each day. There is no way you can fit even a small percentage of new content in every day. Just live your life, what other people are doing isn't as important as what life you're living for yourself.

Another relevant question we should consider asking ourselves... "why do I choose to try & consume so much content?" (to the point it becomes info overload).
imo, this vid offers a likely explanation ("FOMO" i.e. the fear of missing out) for many people.
You can see this phenomenon particularly when you consider how people consume (and are consumed by/addicted to) social media.
