So for years I have said "I will play Alan Wake someday"
I just bought it on Steam. Since I have been streaming on Twitch I decided its my next game. The PC port is widely praised as being excellent.
Anyone played it?
I am wondering if I should go Xbox 360 controller or keyboard/mouse.

Alan Wake is an anagram of Weak Anal.

I was doing OK in the game but then I got stuck. I'm just not that good at running and combat at the same time, while toggling through my inventory. The game is nice looking, and pretty clever and inventive. You'll probably have a blast.

I was really surprised when they put Alan Wake on PC, I had never played it before it suddenly appeared Steam. It's funny too, because I remember the developer saying they would NEVER port it to PC. I found it to be similar to the first 2 Max Payne games (same developer), plus it has some puzzles. I thought the story is pretty good, very paranormal/supernatural themed with mystery and suspense. They made a sequel called Alan Wake's American Nightmare, also good but I haven't finished it.
I do remember when it was first released on Steam, it had very positive feedback and made a lot more money than expected.

I watched some of it when it was streaming, it was a pretty good quality stream. I haven't played Alan Wake again after I beat it but I thought it was a very good game.

Overall it was an OK game. Not amazing. Was fun. The ending was very sudden. Maybe the DLC explains it more but I have no burning desire to play it

I liked the whole theme of it, haven't seen many (if any) games like it but there's really no replay value.
Life is Strange was pretty good too, not the same kind of game but also supernatural themed and it gets pretty dark.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is also worth playing.
