Anyone emptying their wallet? My entire wish list went on sale. It's mostly nostalgia stuff though like Baldur's Gate 2 remaster or the Final Fantasy library. For a change I'm not that motivated to dump a bunch of cash. Hard to when I still have stuff like the entire Bioshock trilogy to play

I bought rust and streets of rogue. Also bought fallout 4 a few weeks ago when it went on sale for $20. Probably won't buy any other games, still spending a lot of time on PUBG.

I kinda wanna check out Rust but I dunno how many of these "survival FPS" I really need.

All I've bought so far is Telltale's Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and System Shock 1 Enhanced Edition.
I'm considering a few of these:
Axiom Verge Pillars of Eternity Attack on Titan Witcher 3 DLC Prey
and hopefully Tekken 7 will go on sale for Christmas, that one's at the top of my wishlist.

So far I've only picked up Rise of the Tomb Raider 20th Anniversary Edition (got all that DLC yo) but I feel like I'll be buying quite a bit more. My entire wishlist is on sale as well so we'll see how that goes. I am interested in Stories Untold, looks to be quite unique game play wise. Also thinking of picking up Sniper Elite 4 and Poly Bridge.
edit: just picked up Poly Bridge and also saw that Stalker:Call of Pripyat is only $5 so I grabbed that one up as well. Never played Stalker but I've heard the praises on here as well as the glowing Steam reviews.

Played the first episode of Guardians of the Galaxy... It's good. The characters look and sound a little different from their movie counterparts, but it's close enough and the art style looks very much like the movie. I actually got pretty lost in the story, very entertaining with action and heart, even comic relief. Was worried that there'd be too many QTE's and not enough gameplay but there were some pretty good parts that felt plenty action-y. The graphics are also really good. Compared to season 3 of their Walking Dead game, I thought this was way better. I can't help but wonder if this game is the reason why season 3 of TWD ended up being a let-down. There are currently only 2 episodes out, gonna be playing the second one later. Might actually wait until the rest of the episodes are out, or at least episode 3. Hopefully the story and everything will stay good throughout the rest of it.

The base game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I thought was the best overall by far...

Apparently it combines all three games into one.

Haven't even opened Steam yet to see what's on sale. Kinda lost interest. Still have unplayed games from nearly a decade ago. Did buy a few things in the recent PSN sale however, 3 games for a total of €7.

Call of Chernobyl has no plot tho. It is a free roam open world with no story and no end. I would recommend modding ALL of the Stalker games at some point. They really do improve with mods.

Just bought Doom, I played the demo when it came out so I know it's worthy. Thinking of getting Mafia 3, I played the demo and I liked it but some Steam users suggest it goes downhill due to repetition. But by playing intermittently and not obsessing over doing every possible mission I could maybe get around that. Then there are the games that I like to think of myself as being interested in, like Obduction, a spiritual successor to the Myst games. But if I'm honest I admit I just don't want to be that obsessed over solving Myst like puzzles. If there were a built in hint system, maybe. Then again, if UHS has a guide .... but no, not yet. Huh, googling for that shows this though. obduction.gamepedia.com/Walkthrough A poster named upsydaisy said "it's not step by step just a nudge in the right direction". So maybe.

Ugh. So I always like Zombies for Call of Duty. Despite not purchasing a CoD game since the original Black Ops in like 2010 I bought Black Ops 3 specifically for the zombies mode AND I threw down for the Season Pass just so I could get all zombie maps.
I hadn't played it in a really long time and just found out they released a Zombie Pack specifically to support zombie players like myself.
Its $30 but hey I got the Season Pass so I am covered right?
...........WRONG. I am supposed to fork out an additional $30 on top of the $90 I already paid.
Fuck Treyarch and fuck fucking Call of Duty. I will never, ever pay a dime for another one of these shitty CoD games. Ever.

Way ahead of you. I decided I didn't care about modern warfare shooters anymore after Modern Warfare 2 and I can't say I regret that decision.

I have wanted Dishonored 2 since launch but I heard the horror stories about the performance. Since I am on a 1070 now and they have released 4 major patches I took the plunge.
Set everything to ultra and the intro went between 65-75 FPS. Not bad at all. Then I got into the main game and intentionally went to a huge open area overlooking a ton of stuff, dropped to 42 FPS.
Then I went into a small room full of the "blood bugs"......dropped to like 30 fps.......wtf.
Turns out by default all of the bugs and rats and stuff give off shadows and it kills fps something terrible. Turned those shadows off and its smooth sailing now.
I guess they used a heavily modified engine from Rage. It looks good but not as good as the FPS drops would make you think. Doom runs smooth as glass and it is a newer engine from the same people.

Axiom Verge is a solid game. I've played it for almost 16 hours and unlocked 34% of the achievements, so it's not a short game. There's some backtracking in the levels, but it's not excessive. Challenging, but not punishingly difficult. Pretty much the same as Metroid in that regard. It's not perfect though. imo, controls/gameplay aren't on the same level as Metroid or Super Metroid. The game controls more like Bionic Commando (8-bit NES) than Metroid. Overall (graphics, music, story, level design, strange creatures/bosses), it does a good job of capturing the feel of a Metroid game. I'd say that it's an amazing accomplishment (a work of genius even) considering that the entire game was made by one man.

Well, Pillars of Eternity is included with this month's Humble Monthly subscription. I already own it. Let me know if any of you lazy slackers wants this game for free!

Fuck Treyarch and fuck fucking Call of Duty. I will never, ever pay a dime for another one of these shitty CoD games. Ever. To be honest, they've got themselves covered on the marketing & legal side of things (with the naming scheme "Season Pass") - it implies temporary (for a season). I agree with your sentiment though, too pricey of DLC sucks. A decent policy would be something like never allowing the total $ price of DLC to exceed the original new price of a game. But that's just wishful thinking, of course. Yeah, over $90 is too much. Yet, CoD is DLC-lite compared to some other games. Look at the strategy games from Paradox Interactive (such as Europa Universalis IV or Crusader Kings II, each having over $250 worth of DLC on Steam). Another example is "DCS World," with about $900 in DLC on Steam. That level of pricing is obscene for PC gaming software. Yet, many ppl consider it the best/most realistic flight sim currently on PC and, evidently, they pay it. Granted, the DLC's can be had for a fraction of the price if one waits for a Steam sale.

Today, I was browsing the Playstation Store and came across a new Season Pass #7 for the game "DOA5LR". Out of curiosity, I looked up game reviews on Metacritic. I read that the game features mostly female fighters with bewbs and PS3-era graphics (they say it's a direct port of the PS3 game and graphics about the same - not that great). This DLC will set players back by about $75. Such a bargain. lol
