There's too much to explain, but basically some company out there sold all these tickets costing thousands of dollars each to lots of people. They were promised a music festival with luxury accommodations on this private island in the Bahamas, but when they got there, the whole place was not even half-built and there were no bands or artists playing. There also wasn't enough food and water for nearly 2 days. People tried to leave, but all flights back were canceled and they were stranded there. A bunch of Victoria's Secret models and Ja Rule were promoting it, also Ja Rule was organizing a lot of it.

It didn't take long for those hipster yuppies to turn on each other, and start stealing from each other either. I read somewhere that it was originally supposed to take place on this other island that was a lot nicer, but that there was already this native Bahamas music festival going on, which made it impossible. They reportedly tried to ask the authorities of the Bahamas to re-schedule, which of course they refused and pointed out how arrogant and blind they were for asking that. So at the last minute, the ones organizing it tried to move it to another island that wasn't as nice, which is why the whole place was left unfinished and with next to no security. The stands and tents and whatnot were also reportedly blowing over due to lots of wind. There were also a bunch of wild dogs and pigs on the island.

It's funny the official promo is still up, they haven't removed it. Either they are delusional and think this is still gonna happen or they forgot to take it down:
