Bought this a couple weeks ago. Awesome game, too bad it never goes on sale (listed for $30)
Colony building/management game similar to dwarf fortress but a lot more user friendly. I've always liked these type of games so I've been hooked. Listed on steam as being early access but according to the devs:
“The game is already fully playable, balanced, and generally free of bugs. Over 120,000 players have been enjoying it since our Kickstarter in October 2013. However, we want to add more value before calling it done. We're doing Early Access to indicate that we still intend to add more content to the game.”
Anyone else playing this?
A few things that have killed my colonies so far....
I killed a "boomrat" in the middle of my camp, it exploded and set fire to everything in my stockpile and burned my buildings and people to the ground. (my first colony)
Poor defense setup led a raider group to slaughter all my peoples.
Found 5 cryo pods that I opened only to find the inhabitants weren't happy about being woken up and they killed all my people.
Blight wiped out my crops and succumbed to starvation. This happened right after a toxic storm killed everything that lived outside and it gave one of my dudes dementia so he will randomly forget what he's doing and wander around for a bit before coming back to reality.
There are 3 different AI "storytellers" you can choose from when you start and can set the difficulty you would like. I've only tried the basic one so far which gradually makes things tougher with random events etc. There is a chaotic one that I have wanted to try but haven't yet and a chill mode one that lets you focus on just the building and management part without many of the more violent and hindering events.
