That I picked up a brand new 2022 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition fully optioned out this past Monday....
Yea I had my previous truck for 16 years (how many people keep a vehicle for that long lol). I loved the Lightning but it was definitely time to move on and get something newer and more feature filled not to mention more usable (this is my first AWD w00t!)
Key features that made me choose the Ridgeline over other trucks:
-Not too big, not too small. -Full independent suspension. -Under bed trunk. -Exterior truck bed audio
-I like Honda interior style and ergonomics (since my 2017 Civic Si) -Multiple 110v power outlets. Front and back seats have a standard 110v power outlet and so does the bed which will be great for charging my drone batteries while I'm out and about.
-Auto unlocking/locking doors without having to take the key out of your pocket (it even auto-locks and unlocks the under the bed trunk)
-Push button start to where you don't have to take the key out of your pocket
Before my 2017 Civic Si I really didn't care for Honda. I didn't like the first Ridgeline either since it looked like an imitation Avalanche lol. Yes looks count, don't listen to the lies that looks don't matter lol. Anyhow I've been on the hunt for a Ridgeline for the past three years now and glad I took my time to make the jump since the newer body refresh in the front to make it look a little more truck-like and less mini-van looking in the front. I'm very happy with it and it's the most feature filled vehicle that I've ever owned. It has everything from wireless phone charging to multiple driver memory seats, led accent lighting, rear seat climate control, paddle shifters with a 9-speed transmission, the mirrors that automatically tilt down in reverse, power rear window, etc.etc.

That is awesome, I like the Ridgeline, I'd buy one. One of the coolest things I think is the underseat storage in the back, I use a tailgate pad to transport my bike and it would fit perfectly under there when not in use. I really like the new Nissan Frontier also though. Have a Tacoma currently and I'm very happy with it, it's getting old but still very solid. Only things I've had to fix recently have been replacing the battery (heat killed it) and a few headlight/taillight bulbs. The front bulbs on the Tacoma's are super easy to replace, you just open the hood and they're right there.

You Americans and your silly big cars. I was in New York last week and I was totally baffled by what you people consider 'city cars'... The average sedan driving around in NY (not even counting those ludicrous SUVs) are some of the biggest cars driving around over here. We have a Mazda 6 Break as the family car, which is quite a big barge for European cities, is clearly just mid-size over there. I don't think I've seen a dozen 'sensible city cars' driving around, lol.
We were driven to the airpost in a Cadillac Escalade. I don't think I've ever been in a bigger thing that's still classified as a car. They were driving around NY in droves, single occupant, madness.

lol I'm still driving the EX SUV I got in 2017 when my Jeep died. I needed a 4x4 for the winter. Never slid once, its a tank. My mountain bike is an XL and it just barely fits in the back.

I've always driven small cars up until just a few years ago. My last car, a 2004 Acura RSX, I drove for nearly 15 years. Got into a 2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD (4WD) a few years ago. Gas mileage doesn't matter much to me, since I work/ed from home (including pre-pandemic years through today). Also, gas was dirt cheap here (particularly in the south - TN and TX) at the time of purchase. Last winter, in Tennessee (Memphis suburbs), there was a deep snow & ice for about 2 weeks.. hardly any cars on the roads because, apparently, the state didn't have the resources to clear the roads (roads were so bad, even the fast food joints were shut down). Personally, I have experience driving in all conditions, because I have family in the north and lived there many years too. The 4WD 4Runner drives like a tank under bad road conditions. Night & day difference vs driving a small car in the same conditions. In a truck/SUV with 4WD, you can safely navigate the roads w/ deep ice & snow (at reasonable speeds). In a small 2WD car, it's quite treacherous regardless of speed. I don't believe the ground clearance of the RSX could've made it through the piles of ice & snow for those two weeks in TN last winter.

Just a FYI....The Ridgeline is considered a small truck to todays standards....check out a Chevy Trail boss...LOL. Anyway, took the Ridgeline to Wildwood with a female friend and oh was it so comfortable. The Ridgeline is rated as one of the best, if not the best riding truck. It was nice to be able to put all the beach stuff in the bed and have the back seats with the tinted windows to change cloths in. It made a 3 to 4hr drive seem like nothing...so comfortable....love it.

Yeah, I saw a few completely decked out Ford F-150s with heightened suspension and huge tires parked on the streets on NYC as well. Now that's a city car, lol...

My uncle owns a Ridgeline, so I've seen one up close. It is a beautifully engineered truck.
