I played the beginning of RDR2, liked it a lot and can't wait to play more. I played all of the GTA games a lot, never played RDR1 though. *edit* I loaded up Fallout 4 from my old save, I was thinking that only 1 mod (Tinas Cookiepocolypse -AKA DDProd All In One plus Quest) would really matter since it adds new crafting plans to the game (things like support struts and pillars, glass panes, floors, and stackable walls) and I was right. Game loaded right up without missing a beat. Very relieved, I went ahead and created a new save. Will add back the rest of my mods later. Tina's Cookiepocolypse is one of the weirdest and most complex mods I've seen for FO4. When it starts all enemies you kill drop stuff like they do in Borderlands 2 and it also has the Tina character in it, though not the actual voice actress and doesn't look like Tina at all. Enemies also have floating numbers above their heads when you damage them, they die with confetti, and you can't loot them. So if you start this mod on a fresh game you have to be careful doing actual storyline missions that require you to loot a body, this mod actually has potential to break the game's quests. If you keep playing the mod quest, eventually you get access to Tina's bunker/workshop and can disable those the floating numbers, confetti explosions and being able to loot bodies. Also you loot cookies from dead bodies and can use them to buy stuff from her workshop which includes crafting plans mentioned above and there's also special weapons, powerups, and a few other things. I think what mattered is that this mod is 30-something mods all in one.

Been playing GTA5 most of the weekend. The last GTA I finished was GTA3 then Vice City waaaay back in I think 2003/04, I finished both games back to back. I tried to play SA and also GTA4 but I was still burned out on it.
GTA5 I started strong but kinda getting bored of it. According to my savegame I am 25% of the way through the main story but I'm pretty sure I have already experienced everything the gameplay loop has to offer.
Also Trevor is one of the most annoying characters in video games. I already dislike meth heads IRL so playing as one in a game is no very appealing to me.
Another thing that is annoying is cars disappearing out of your garage. Apparently you have to buy a building if you want your cars to stick around. Oh well.

I agree about Trevor, but I found a trick that changes things up as long as I don't think about it too hard. The TV show Miami Vice had an arc of episodes where Crockett suffered from amnesia and took on for real the life he should have been playing undercover, one of being a major drug king pin. And then in A Scanner Darkly we saw Keaneu Reeves character, an undercover cop, doing so much dope (it was called Death, IIRC) that his brain literally starting fracturing between the left and right hemisphere, and his identities as cop, and drug dealer, started getting lived separately. He forgot that he was the drug dealer.
So I play Trevor like a blend of those two.

I played through GTA V once, it's an awesome game all around. However, I tried to play a second time and just couldn't stick with it since I'd pretty much seen all the game has to offer the first time I beat it. I got the ending where: {CLICK FOR SPOILER} everyone lives.

That's funny, I was just looking at that same thing earlier. Yeah it looks cool, I might give it a try. Especially because I've nearly completed everything in the game and there's not much left to do.

I'm hoping there is an ending where: {CLICK FOR SPOILER}Trevor dies cuz seriously fuck Trevor Also since GTA5 has been out for years and year I figured there were good mods. I was right in that there is a hugely popular graphics mod that makes it more "natural". I installed it and IMO it does look a lot better but I noticed a side effect. It makes the nights much darker so its very hard to see without headlights/street lights. Then I got in a mission where you are fighting cops at night and even with my brightness maxed I couldn't see the cops. I failed the mission 3x times because I kept taking shots from the dark. I just skipped that section. Very annoying. Oh well. Still it makes the game look better.

I've never messed with the mods after hearing about people getting banned for using them even in singleplayer. I tried Online but stopped because there's too many hackers and many of them hack just to be disruptive in the game. I remember I was driving and suddenly my view was blocked by what looked like wood texture, I went to 3rd person view and my character had a coffin, toilet, and a bunch of weed plants all over him. I looked it up on Reddit, it was someone hacking. {CLICK FOR SPOILER} Actually, you do have the option to kill Trevor near the end. He deserves it, but I didn't kill him. Did you know the guy he kills at the beginning (Johnny) is the same character you play as in EFLC? I think that scene was even more shocking to me because I knew who he was. I've been testing out my new PC a lot, all of my games run much better and I can max out settings in games that I couldn't before. About to try out RDR2 again, last time I played it was on my old setup.

GTA Online is a lot of fun, last time I played I tried to run over this guy and he took it very personal, came after me shooting. I got out of my car and he ended up stealing it and driving away, eventually I got it back but that was some fun sh*t.
Downloaded Kingdom Come: Deliverance on XGP, I've always wanted to play it. Only played some of the beginning but the graphics are incredible, every setting is turned up as high as it can go and framerate is very acceptable so far. I remember reading somewhere that this game has some of the absolute best visuals ever.

The gameplay loop is just so simple. Rob people, get in a car and drive away. I'm not saying its a bad game by and stretch of the imagination but its kinda the lowest common denominator of video games. I wanna replay Divinity Original Sin 2 again because its so good but giving myself some time off of it.

I was going to play Kingdom Come Deliverance but I have been on a roll finishing old games so I picked Nier Automata back up. My savegame is from September 2018. I had just finished a ton of sidequests. I found out I was actually like 3 hours from the end of play through 1.
Thing with Nier is you have to finish it multiple times to get to the end with different characters. It also has M. Night Shamalmabjkfjbfb style plot twists so you can't really google much about it if you don't want to ruin the story.
The port is eh and even on max graphics settings there are problems with the engine but luckily the community made a mod called FAR that fixes pretty much every single problem with the game.

I tried to install and play Crysis 1 a long time ago off the retail disc I bought in 2007, but it would never run. Installed fine but then couldn't launch it, there would be an error about it being incompatible with this version of Windows (10). I decided to try again today, there must've been an update that fixed the compatibility issue with this game, because it works just fine now. It has aged but still looks very good, I can max out all settings and the framerate is always at max. I remember having some mods that made it look even better, also there's further settings you can adjust and add to the game's config file that I need to find again. Also have Crysis Warhead, will probably be playing that one again as well. Might play all the Crysis games again, I don't think I was able to max out the 3rd one the last time I played but it should be able to now.
*edit* Oh yeah if you install Crysis 1 from the retail disc, make sure to do custom install and unselect PunkBuster, same for GameSpy Comrade on the next screen. These are very old and outdated programs that don't even work anymore, Windows 10 doesn't know how to completely uninstall them correctly. I installed them the first time around, ended up doing a system rollback just to get rid of them and reinstall the game, it was a pain. Also there's a part of the install that says "updating component registration" this part took a long time to get through and then the game itself installed very fast.
For that matter, if ever doing a system rollback in Windows 10 (system restore) it can take a while for it to complete, it took almost 45 minutes to finish on my PC. Was about to hit the reset button thinking it was stuck but then the screen suddenly changed and it finished. Could've caused a huge problem if I hadn't been patient.

I never got anywhere near finishing Crysis 1. I think I downloaded a copy of it to see how it would look on my 8800 GTS when it first came out. I vaguely remember running around invisible on the beach killing people but I couldn't tell you anything about the story.

Also the Crysis people had ambitious plans of becoming the next Epic or Valve and opened offices all over the world. Never worked out that way and they almost went under. Watched a long video about it on youtube. They actually made Hunt Showdown which looks amazing and is very cool especially when playing the night mode. Very dark and tense PvP action. I haven't played it in forever due to all the other games out there but I liked it a lot.

Crysis 1, the story and dialogue is actually pretty corny but the scenery and gameplay is what kept me playing. I remember this one part where you're driving a tank across and that part was great. There's also a part near the end where there's some kind of ice storm or blizzard going on around where the alien ship is, there's also a part where you are in a flying vehicle and there's tornadoes. I heard they had to remove parts of the game from the X360 and PS3 versions. Warhead was good, has some new weapons and the story runs parallel to the first game, follows a different character. 2 and 3 are good but they were definitely a step backwards compared to the first game, especially 2. I remember people got really mad about that and Crytek eventually admitted that the 2nd one was a step backwards from the first game. I think that was a big part of why they fell so hard after that, and their attitude about the whole thing didn't help. There was really no excuse for Crysis 2 to feel like the levels took place inside of a shoe box, especially when games like GTA V were on those same systems back then. Although it was probably EA pressuring them to get a finished game out quickly so they could cash in, and didn't really care about the quality. It was still a good game though. The 3rd game didn't sell well at all. I want to check out Hunt Showdown, I have heard good things about it.
CryEngine is still a pretty amazing engine, Star Citizen was using it until they switched to Amazon Lumberyard, which resulted in a lawsuit from Crytek. Amazon Lumberyard actually is the CryEngine but there was some kind of agreement that Crytek had with Star Citizen's studio that was breached when they switched.

It sounds like they switched to (attempt to) get out of paying licensing fees to Crytek. Some of the game dev platforms actually require developers to give them a share of the profit from game sales (not sure if this applies to CryEngine, you'd have to look it up). That's why some game engines that don't take a cut from game sales, like Unity, are so popular (despite many ppl arguing Unity is an inferior platform).

I want to check out Hunt Showdown, I have heard good things about it. Its unique. Its a horror game (especially at night) set in the south in the 1800s. Low tech weapons and such, a mix of PvE and PvP. I think its either 10 or 12 people who spawn into the map, I got lucky one night and was on fire and I managed to kill I think 9 people on my own, me and my squad mate got out with a shit load of experience. Your character levels up so its a gamble on if you want to go the safe route and leave right away or stay and potentially lose a high level person. Really neat game just got distracted by other things.

I had trouble getting Crysis Warhead to run after installing it, it tried to activate using SecuROM and couldn't reach whatever server it was trying to reach. After several Google searches, I found a solution that said to install patch 1.1 for the game then go to the Bin64 folder and run Crysis64.exe as admin. This worked for me, game started right up and I played some of the beginning.
It does look and run better than Crysis 1, also POM (parallax occlusion mapping) is enabled if you turn everything up all the way. That was a setting that had to be enabled manually in Crysis 1 via the command console, or adding the command line to the config file. Makes objects in the game (mostly the ground) have a raised and more detailed appearance.
*edit*
I got a mod called Crysis Expanded, it added a whole new part of the map to the beginning part. It also enhances the graphics with new textures, better lighting and shading, but there seems to be a bug with it where it freezes when looking back and forth and also the enhanced lighting/shading turns on and off briefly when this happens. I was able to get rid of it by disabling motion blur. I looked it up, these are known bugs with the mod. It's not perfect but it makes the game look a lot more vibrant and it also adds extra vegetation everywhere. Another really annoying bug though, it also made the AI dumber, they seem to have lost the ability to drive vehicles.
I also tried Natural Mod, I might've liked the way that one looked better so I might go back to using it instead.

So I finally got the "real" ending in Nier Automata. There are other endings to unlock but they are mostly fluff it seems and about unlocking new abilities.
I got the first ending at 10 hours, it took 28 hours to get the actual story flushed out.
Solid game and I would recommend it. Some people are calling it one of the greatest games ever and saying it elevates "videogames as an Art Form" I don't know if I would quite go that far.
Basically the gimmick is they roll the credits after a major plot point then you load a new game with your old data. The same thing could be accomplished without showing the credits over and over and forcing you to reload.
One thing I would highly recommend is Visquish. The videos in the game are 30 fps and will sometimes bog down to 20 fps due to the PC port being buggy.
Vidquish will convert all the videos in the game to 60 fps and it really does improve the experience. The only thing that sucks is it takes forever since its single threaded. The game has so many cut-scenes it really is worth it though.

I think I have Nier Automata on my wishlist, I'll pick it up next time it's on sale. Still playing Crysis1. I played some of 2 and 3, one thing I hate is that they removed prone position, you can only crouch. I don't know why they removed that ability, they could have easily integrated it into the crouch button but they didn't. I remember people saying they did this to make the game simpler and also to make multiplayer more fair, but those are very stupid reasons for removing that ability from the game. Also there's stupid un-skipplable tutorials at the beginning of Crysis 2 that are very annoying, it takes control of the game for you and slowly explains how to play the game. It's like they thought that people playing the game would be a bunch of morons who would need their hand held in the game. The 3rd one is much better, unfortunately it sold poorly because 2 was so bad. Crytek tried to blame piracy for their games not making enough money but it was really their own fault.
*edit* Crysis Expanded makes the game look incredible, almost just like it looked in the early trailers of it. Unfortunately, it has bugs and tends to crash. I'm at the part where you have to take out these 3 anti-air sites and every time one explodes, it makes the game crash. It seems like if I plant a C4 charge and then run far away to detonate it without looking at the explosion, it doesn't crash. It also seems to crash while auto-saving sometimes but I don't think there's a way to disable auto saving.

No problem. fyi, if you're still thinking of getting a playstation down the road (PS5), be aware that Sony Corporation of America has gone woke. All of the Playstation games released in NA in the past year or so have been censored, including remakes/remastered games like Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, with content from the original having been removed. Microsoft Xbox (Two?) will likely be the gaming console more geared towards adults.

Nah, tons of sources on the internet confirm what I said and they've become very strict with censorship. They're censoring content (out of remastered games) that was included in the original games as they were originally released in NA. The company itself confirmed this. boundingintocomics.com/2019/04/23/sony-confirms-existence-of-strict-content-censorship-policy-regarding-playstation-4-releases/I've seen where many people are opting for the Nintendo Switch version of certain games that are less censored/more content than the Playstation versions, believe it or not.
