So similar to Frozen I got interested in this because of the controversy: www.theguardian.com/books/2009/sep/30/american-library-association-banned-booksThe Harry Potter series has been criticized for years as being anti-christian. The author has pointed out numerous times it isn't. However His Dark Materials is specifically anti-religion and the author is upfront about it: www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2019/11/can-atheism-animate-great-fantasy/598351/I saw The Golden Composs years and years ago and I honestly don't even remember how it ends or anything about the plot and its based off the same thing. The first episode was typical children's book stuff but it got a lot darker quickly. So far its pretty entertaining. Unlike Harry Potter you don't see people waving wands around casting spells and stuff, at least so far. Its more subtle then that with magic. Its still holding my interest so far.

I started to watch it last night, I'll probably finish up the first episode tonight. Its probably the strangest kids show I've seen. I think its more targeted at people who likes the books as kids not at kids themselves.
