I tried to watch the first Frozen but it just would not hold my interest for shit. As I said before the reason I watched it is for the supposed hidden gay marriage subplot. People say similar things about the 2nd one. You can find hidden subtext in anything if you try hard enough.

Frozen 2(theater cam): Looks better then frozen one. The story is middling as there is no real antagonist. There needs to be some kind of big bad for Elsa to fight with her ice powers or something. My brain has this bad habit of shutting of during the song and dance numbers so I miss out on the lyrics. I hope they make Elsa a lesbian in Frozen 3 just for the massive explosion of drama it would cause. Will make a lot of fun comment sections. Or they could subvert expectations by making her straight, and heads of ppl on the left explode. Either way, there would be massive drama. lol Currently tho, based on what I heard about the 1st two Frozen movies, the subplot surrounding Elsa's character seems to be the "strong & independent woman" or "a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle." It sounds like people are just assuming her sexuality, even though the movies don't give evidence that she has a sexuality. i.e. She might even be asexual. Actually, I've seen a few comments from some ppl claiming to be asexual, so evidently that's a thing these days.

It kinda reminds me of this SNL skit and the ridiculousness of robots having a sexuality. In similar fashion, why would a make believe Disney character necessarily require a sexuality for the movie to have a decent plot?

Starship Troopers (Bluray): The second Verhoeven movie I watched with the kids, after Total Recall (now there's only Robocop left). They seemed to enjoy it. I already know it by heart, being able to quote entire sections, but I gotta say it holds up pretty well FX-wise as well. You wouldn't be able to say it's already 22 years old by now.
Parasite (Download): The Bong Joon-ho movie that won the Palme d'Or this year in Cannes. It was actually pretty good. I went in with not too high an expectation because I can't say what I'd heard of it didn't really made me all that interested but I decided to give it a go based on the strenghts of his earlier work. It certainly wasn't run-of-the-mill or predictable...
Daniel Isn't Real (Download): Surprise hit of the night. I kinda stopped watching most low budget horror movies that show up because I've been disappointed a few times too many recently, so unless something already comes recommended from sources I trust I tend to skip them, unless for some reason it really speaks to me for some reason. This was one of those cases. It just looked trippy. I'm happy to say it turned out to be pretty great and Arnie's kid was really good in it as well. I won't spoil too much of the story, but it's about a guy reconnecting with an imaginary friend he had as a kid. Reminded me a bit of Hellraiser 2 and the first season of Legion. Check it out.
Amsterdamned (Bluray): Probably my favorite Dutch movie. That speedboat chase through the canals holds up incredibly well.

Shazam! - Really liked this one, might be my favorite movie this year, I think it's the best movie to come from DC so far. Watching it again.

Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System - Case 1 (Download) Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System - Case 2 (Download): 1-hour standalone Psycho Pass episodes. There are 3 in total, but I've yet to watch the 3rd. They were OK, I liked the second a lot more than the first. Like a lot of this type of anime these days, it all feels like repurposed Ghost-in-the-Shell stories. The Psycho-Pass aspect doesn't even play that big a role. You could fill in all the roles with the GitS cast and it wouldn't make a difference...
Rambo: Last Blood (Download): First: Who are all these people that supposedly are his family? He's the girl's uncle, so the mother was his sister? But she died, so then who's the old broad? Too many questions. I only really started to like the movie once Rambo got involved with it proper, and the finale of course in all its glorious ultraviolence.
Fire City: End of Days (Download): Movie I would've skipped over just looking at the cover, but the director's name caught my eye: Tom Woodruff Jr., practical FX wizard and most of the aliens you ever saw in the Alien movies. If he makes a movie about creatures, I'm going to check it out... ...and I'm glad that I did. It's a bit of a weird one. It's about demons, living in a run-down tenement, feeding of the misery of the regular people living there until something happens and all the people all of a sudden have no negative feelings anymore, leaving the demons confused and hungry. It's up to one of them to figure out what's going on. Low budget, but not that obvious, with some cool practical make-up work.

I have, a few times actually. I have it on DVD, but it's been a while since I last saw it so that's probably all still on the original SCMB, maybe the previous iteration, but I doubt it. I liked it for it's grittiness and extremely dark humor. Disgusting people doing disgusting stuff.
Creep (Download/DVD): Remember back in the early 2Ks when Hostel created a watershed moment for torture porn and survival horror and quite a few decent to good ones followed in its wake? Case in point: Creep. Franka Potente being hunted by a disfigured killer in the London underground. I always liked it well enough and I still do.
The Cottage (Download/DVD): Another one in the same basic genre except they went for the funny with this one and it takes quite a while before the horror even begins. Up to that point it's just a funny crime caper... ...and then a disfigured farmer shows up and the fun really starts. I need to get this on bluray at one point or another. I also want to show it to the kids without telling them anything about it beforehand.
Kuso (Download): You can stop the search for the most bizarre movie ever made, I've found it. It's not even a Japanese movie, as the title might suggest, it's an American one and it's about... ...I have no idea what it's about... It's a movie that had a bunch of walkouts when it played on Sundance and it's touted as the most disgusting movie ever made. Well, it certainly is disgusting. At first it starts off very arty farty but luckily it gets funnier and crazier as it goes along. It's all small vignettes, a bit like Intergalactic Cable on Rick and Morty, some are live-action, some are weirdly animated ones. One of the people responsible is the guy that did the Salad Fingers flash cartoons, so that might be some indication what you're in for.
Psycho-Pass: Sinners of the System - Case 3 (Download): Episode about a character that left the Psycho Pass agency in the first season so now it has nothing to do with Psycho passes anymore. He's just fucking around with some mercenaries in Tibet. It wasn't bad, none of them were, but except for using characters from Psycho Pass, these 3 movies had little to nothing to do with the series.
Freddy Got Fingered (Download/DVD): I thought about showing this to the kids, but upon rewatching it myself, maybe not just yet. Although, it's just the mentions of oral sex that might make it uncomfortable to watch it with them. The gross stuff I don't care about...

Although, it's just the mentions of oral sex that might make it uncomfortable to watch it with them. The gross stuff I don't care about... A few years ago people were saying this is some kind of brilliant piece of "post-comedy" or "post-cinema". I don't see it. I get he is talking about the movie while making the movie. Its self referential, sadly I didn't find it funny and of course people look down their nose "It isn't SUPPOSED to be funny STUPID!" Meh. Emperors New Clothes...

Space Milkshake (Download): While it had some amusing moments, this low-budget space comedy just wasn't good enough on the whole. I'd hoped for more of a 'Space Station 76' positive surprise, but it never manifested. Too bad.
Castle Rock - Season 2 (Download): This concluded earlier this week. I watched it episode by episode over the past weeks but I could never get into it quite as much as I did season 1. The story just wasn't that compelling. Still, it was better than the last dozen (Fear the) Flopping Dead seasons...

009 - RE: Cyborg 3D (3D Bluray): Cell-shaded CGI anime movie I downloaded a while back and kinda fell in love with so when I stumbled upon a 3D version I didn't even know existed, I just had to have it. Price was acceptable (€18) and I figured a CG movie like this could work great in 3D and I was right about that. Super crisp cell shaded anime was made for 3D. Why aren't there anymore like this?

Ad Astra - Good space movie, kind of reminded me of Interstellar and/or Gravity though not as good as either of those. I didn't see the trailers before seeing it so I went in with no expectations of anything. Overall it was slow-moving and not a whole lot to it, but I still liked it. There was one scene in particular that was my favorite, mentioning it would be a huge spoiler though. {CLICK FOR SPOILER} Moon rover chase scene involving space pirates, I wish there was more stuff like that.

Watchmen - Epi 1-6 (Download): Pretty great. While it's set in a completely different enviroment, I'm still reminded of Westworld for some reason, I think it's got to do with the way the stories are interwoven. It looks great, obviously, and while it rewrites the movie's ending in favor of the comic's ending, it still stays pretty true to the movie as well. Episode 6 was awesome and seemed like a good point to pause before watching the rest...
Basket Case (Bluray): Frank Henenlotter's debut movie, part of a trilogy boxset I bought. I already own all 3 on DVD, but what the hell, right? It's a bonafide cult classic and to be honest, it kind of holds up in all its low budget campiness.
Jackass: Number Two (DVD/Download): With the youngest. I thought he might get a kick out of it, but while he certainly seemed to enjoy the craziness, he didn't think it was quite as funny as I did...

Watchmen - Epi 7-8 (Download): And here I was thinking they couldn't top episode 6 anymore. Like in the movie, the bit with Dr Manhattan was the best part, so episode 8 then. How awesome was that? I loved it...
The Cell (Download/DVD): It's been years since I last saw this. Back then it was just a Seven-clone and not even the best one but since then I've grown to appreciate the visual weirdness it has on display.
Basket Case 2 (Bluray): A bunch of strange creatures in this sequel that's OK but lacks the grittiness of '80s New York from the original.
Hellraiser (Bluray)): The classic, still as great as ever. I still think the second is the best but the original certainly has its charm. Arrow made a great bluray, with a bunch of great extras.

Watchmen 1-9: I watched the first episode a while ago but skipped the rest. Got all caught up today. TBH this show didn't resonate with me till episode 4. I was just of along for the ride. Onto spoilers: {CLICK FOR SPOILER}I don't get why Manhattan let himself be killed. I assume it will be some long thing they will explain in season 2.
Also when Ozymandias was on his prison planet I didn't catch exactly where the jailer came from. I watched 9 episodes in 1 night so I guess I didn't see when they explained that part.

Hellraiser 2: Hellbound (Bluray): While the visual effects don't really hold up in HD, I'm nevertheless a big fan of the depiction of hell in this movie. Storywise not as strong and concise as the first, but those visuals make all the difference for me. I'm now also halfway through the feature length in-depth making-of documentary on the disc of the first movie and I'm also going to watch the one on this disc...
Freaks (Download): Saying anything about this movie is spoiling it, so I'm not going to. I'll just say it was really good and surprising and the less you know about the story the better.
Basket Case 3 (Bluray): Now this is more like it. The same cast of bizarre creatures from the second, but used more and better. Incredibly crazy and funny. I really liked it. I didn't remember it was this insane or I would've rewatched it on DVD years ago...
Night of the Comet (Bluray): Enjoyable '80s end of the world movie I'd only seen on a low bitrate SD rip before buying this Arrow release that's pretty good, but not as good as some of their other HD releases.

Watchmen - Epi 9 (Download): Satisfying conclusion to a great series. Stopping it here would be fine by me but we all know that's probably not going to happen. Still, if they can find a good angle, I'd watch more. They haven't shown Nite Owl yet, so there's a possibility for him to show up still. {CLICK FOR SPOILER}Also when Ozymandias was on his prison planet I didn't catch exactly where the jailer came from. I watched 9 episodes in 1 night so I guess I didn't see when they explained that part. It was just another clone, but Ozy gave him a mask, so he would be ruthless.

Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth (Bluray): Having seen the first 2 movies and about 4 hours of documentaries on the making of those, this 3rd movie is the last one in the Arrow Hellraiser boxset. Don't know why really, there's not much left to tie it to the previous movies: the writer and the FX supervisor, a clip of Kirsty on the TV and a mention of Channard, that's about it. It's not very good either, even Pinhead seems off, his voice isn't as powerful and his make-up is too clean. The nails don't even look as good, much thicker and faker. The new Cenobytes are not even half as interesting as the OG cenobytes either. Didn't like it way back when, still don't like it. I'll watch the making of because it looks like it has the same people in it from the docus on the first movies, but it's only 30 minutes long, so it's probably cut footage from those earlier docs, lol.

X-Men: Days of Future Past 3D (3D Bluray): Already had it in 2D and wasn't planning on getting it in 3D but it was so cheap, I just couldn't pass it up. The 3D was actually better than I remembered, because that's why I didn't bother getting the 3D version before. I saw it in the theatre and wasn't that impressed by it. The movie is pretty great in whatever dimension you look at it...
X-Men: Apocalypse 3D (3D Bluray): This on the other hand was always great in 3D but of the 2 it's the weaker movie. That being said, I still quite like it...

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker(theater 2d): The 3D projector was messed up so I got a ticket for a free movie but still got to watch it. I like it for it was. They obviously scrambled to put something together. Not total shit but not amazing. Now spoilers: {CLICK FOR SPOILER}When they sunk in the underground pit dunno why Rey didn't just use her force powers. I was hoping Rey would take over Palpatines throne like he asked then Kylo would cut her down. That would have been a cool plot twist.
Sadly no. People in other reviews bitching about new characters but they didn't bother me so much.
Kinda got Reylo but not really. KOTOR2 is still best Star Wars.
