BTW I just read something really interesting, it was announced a week or 2 ago that Edward Furlong is returning in the new Terminator movie.
*edit
Turns out he's not actually returning, they're using his face from Terminator 2 in the new one using CGI and a stand in. Not sure why they would announce that. I'm sure James Cameron wanted to get him back but last I saw, Ed Furlong looks like melted ice cream. Also he got into some legal trouble in the past involving drugs and domestic abuse.

We were on vacation the past week but I did manage to see some stuff even though I can't really remember anymore.
Wetlands (Download): The vaginal adventures of a German girl, watched it with the wife, lol. I just put it on and waited for her to notice. I think she ended up enjoying it actually.
The Last Starfighter (Download): Great HD restoration of a classic sci-fi movie. Hope I run into it on bluray for a price someday.
The kids and I also watched several episodes of One Punch Man. That's all I can remember. I'd planned on watching more but just didn't get around to it.

Fuck You All - The Uwe Boll Story (Download): Documentary about Uwe Boll's career. Think of his movies as you will, but you gotta love the guy himself. As good a time as any to repost this picture

The Boys(Amazon Prime): I know it makes me a hypocrite since I've said over and over I am sick of superhero anything but I decided to check this out based off hype. Its a deconstruction/satire of superheroes and its already had some really dark moments only a few episodes in. Really enjoying it so far.

I have that lined up for this weekend... ...if I can manage to stay awake (still trying to get back into night rhythm after 4 weeks vacation in day rhythm)
Game Changers - Inside the Video Game Wars (Download): Documentary about video games in the 70s though 90s. Interesting stuff with a lot of key people from the business giving their take.

The Boys (Download): What if the Justice League were all just assholes? That's basically what the Boys is and I loved it. Watched all 8 episodes in a row and am going to recommend this to everyone I know.

Watched all 8 episodes in a row and am going to recommend this to everyone I know. Yeah I really liked it. Its just edgy enough without going into edgelord territory. I guess the comics are way more fucked up.

That bit with the dolphin was fucked up but funny...
Black Rock Shooter (Download): 50-minute anime, apparently based-on or spun-off of something or other because I sure as hell couldn't tell you what was going on without some sort of insider knowledge. I liked the designs and animation of the fights but without any sort of background into the plot, it's pretty pointless.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu (Download): Meh. Only got it because the kids are into the Pokemon. I never really cared about anything Pokemon but I figured I'd watch it with them. Ryan Reynolds voicing Pikachu certainly was the highlight and ultimately the only reason for me to keep watching. It was all so simple and kiddy-friendly. The only part I really enjoyed was the bit with the mime-pokemon.

Surrogates (Bluray): I've often said that sometimes all you need to rediscover a movie is a new medium. I bought this on bluray and last time I saw it was still on DVD so it's been a while. This high concept scifi is short enough to not outstay its welcome and it almost plays like an episode of Black Mirror.
Extremity (Bluray): This wasn't a very good movie even though this dude also did Last Shift, which was pretty good. It makes little sense and isn't gory enough to keep interest in a different way. There's one really good effect at the end, but too little too late to save the movie. If I had downloaded it instead of buying it blindly, I would never have bought it afterwards.
Kaboom (Download/DVD): Silly and sexy shenanigans by Gregg Araki returning to form after his more serious outing "Mysterious Skin". This is more like "Nowhere" and that's just fine by me.
Bad Biology (Download/DVD): One of the craziest movies ever made, starring a girl with 7 clits and a guy with a concious mutant penis. Check it out is you want to see something fucked up, directed by the king of weird: Frank Henenlotter.

The only part I really enjoyed was the bit with the mime-pokemon. You do realize that Pokemon is a Nintendo IP? True, Nintendo is more family friendly/kid safe than even Disney. However, in a parallel universe (the Shadow Realm or whatever it's called in the Zelda games), Link is a wife beater.

Euphoria Season 1 (HBO): Meh. I'm not into high school shows but decided to give this a chance, season ended last night. Starts out well enough and plenty of fucked up/edgy content (one most fucked up scenes I've seen in a show involves a cam girl and it was laugh out loud funny) however the last half of the season dragged a lot. The finale was very boring and there is no real cliff hanger or anything interesting that happens. Average show at best.

Brightburn (Download): Couldn't make it to the theatre for this one for various reasons but I'll buy the bluray when it's affordable. It's basically a what if-story. What if Superman never got guidance from Jor-El and was a bit of an autistic psychopath? Well, you'd get a bunch of bloody mayhem, which Brightburn is happy to provide.

The Right Stuff (TV): I had never seen this before but now with the festivities surrounding the 50 years since the moon landing, it's one of the movies that played, I recorded it and watched it, it was good. A lot funnier than I had anticipated.

Succession (HBO) - Had been kind of interested in this one, actually pretty good so far, the story is keeping me interested. It's about some media conglomerate that is in financial trouble and the family who runs it.

Short Peace (Download): Collection of anime shorts that all offer something interesting but are hit'n'miss in the animation department. Best of the bunch is the last, in which a bunch of soldiers try to take out a walking tank. Looks neat and has some great action.
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - The Egg of the King (Download): I've been recommended this before but I never felt like looking for it until all 3 episodes recently became available at the same time so I had no mre excuses left. Well, I'm probably not going to buy them afterwards. I'm not a big fan of the designs or the animation and I don't particulary care about knights and medieval crap. This is reasonably enjoyable whenever there's a battle going on but it drops dead whenever there isn't. I'll watch the lot but that's going to be it unless it seriously surprises me in the following parts.
Prospect (Bluray): Low-budget sci-fi western that's surprisingly great. I urge everyone to give it a shot.
Wolf Cop (Bluray): Low-budget horror comedy that's surprisingly decent. Pretty funny and occasional instances of great gore. I rewatched it because I bought the second one, which I'll be watching tonight.
The 60 Million Dollar Man (Download): Silly Stephen Chow comedy that really is incredibly silly from start to finish. There is a plot but it's all over the place and eventually it doesn't matter for everything is sacrificed for silly comedy moments. Did I mention it was silly? But at least I didn't want to turn it off like the movie I tried watching beforehand, called Assassinaut, which I switched of after about 25 minutes, which was at least 15 minutes too late. At first it looked like it might be something but once the kids were introduced it went downhill fast with incredibly bad acting.
Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II - The Battle for Doldrey (Download): Same as the first episode. Enjoyable as long as there is fighting, tedious when they stop. Animation and design still remains the dealbreaker for me, I just don't like the look of it...

Whoops, forgot one:
All the President's Men (TV): I've been enjoying a lot of journalism movies lately but I'd never seen the daddy of them all so when it came on TV, on a commercial free channel, it was too good to pass up. Good movie.

Attack on Titan season 3 (Hulu) - Long overdue watch for me, I enjoyed the first 2 seasons a lot and was looking forward to this one. It starts off slow and there are a lot of politics, but after that it gets really good.

Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III - Descent (Download): Now why wasn't this series like this from the beginning? Starts normal enough and then they descent literally into hell. Fucked up looking demons ans some good old hentai tentacle fucking are the order of the day. Shame this 3rd installment isn't really stand-alone because I really want to keep this one but I don't want to trwatch the others.
Another Wolf Cop (Bluray): More of the same so if you loved the first, you'll still love this. I had no idea Kevin Smith played a role in this movie so imagine my surprise when he shows up all of a sudden. More gore and more fucked up than the first with some wonderful rubber creature FX, among which a big talking penis creature. WINNING!
Russian Doll (Download): What if you stretched Groundhog Day over 8 25-minute episodes? You'll see Natasha Lyonne smoke a whole bunch of cigarettes and die a lot. Actually, it was pretty good.

Toy Story 4 (theater): I saw the other 3 in the theater so I figured I would catch this one before it stops showing. I walked in and then a group of about 25 kids walked in. oh boy let me guess they are going to talk in the theater the whole time oh joy. Wasn't a big deal they didn't make a peep.
I liked it. Good way to close the story.
Also I did some reading up before I went since its been 9 years since I saw a Toy Story. It was originally a lot darker and Disney almost cancelled it:

Idiocracy (Download/DVD): I feel we've come one step closer to this becoming reality with Trump as president of the US.
Robot Carnival (Download): Anime anthology from the late '80s that reminded me a lot of Heavy Metal, only with Japanese synth music instead of hard rock. All the stories revolve around robots in some form or other and as usual are hit'n'miss. Starts off really strong but has a very slow middle part and luckily picks up a bit near the end. Extremely little dialogue, first subtitle is 20 minutes in and after that segment it's gone again for a long time. I think some segments could have done with a little more explanation because as it stands it's sometimes little more than animated eyecandy.
Fast Color (Download): Came recommended by Marc Bernardin, the other guy in Kevin Smith's Fatman on Batman/Fatman Beyond podcasts, and it was pretty good indeed. It's about a woman with some sort of power trying to make her way home. Reminded me of Midnight Special in the way everything is kept pretty vague at first and you discover what's going on without too much exposition.

The Descent (Bluray): I watched this with the kids, lol. I wanted to see their reaction when the window jumpscare happened... ...they jumped. Then the movie slows down and right when you start thinking: "Is this all there is to it, some women in a cave?", all hell breaks loose, lol. The youngest one really dug it. I'd forgotten just how gory it actually is in the later parts, lol.
Preacher - Season 2 (Bluray): With the new season having started, it was time to rewatch the other ones. I've seen season 1 plenty of times by now so in the interest of saving some time, I decided to skip that even though it's the best of the bunch. This one is still more fucked up than most things you see on television.
Once upon a Time in Hollywood (Theatre): Usually just about every big movie gets a synchronised worldwide release nowadays so it was disappointing we had to wait 2 weeks to be able to see the new Tarantino, but it finally dropped and I went to see it. It was good. I think Dicaprio is going to be in the running for another Oscar™, hell, he should be. The movie is vintage Tarantino and the most Pulp Fiction since Pulp Fiction.
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (Bluray): Still funny. I saw Daniel Ricciardo do the thing with his hands in an interview not too long ago. He's a funny dude.
Preacher - Season 3 (Bluray): This season starts off a bit slower but increases in craziness as it reaches the final episodes. It's also a bit shorter than the second season, which certainly helps because you feel they stay too long in the same place in that second season.

Brawl in Cell Block 99 (Download): The Redlettermedia guys did a review of Bone Tomahawk, which reminded me I still had to see S. Craig Zahler's other movies. This one was first. This dude needs to learn to cut stuff. This movie is well over 2 hours and I'm pretty sure it could be almost 30 minutes shorter and you wouldn't notice. Like Bone Tomahawk, everything in the beginning is the setup for a very brutal and gory finale.
Dragged Across Concrete (Download): Again, this does not need to be 2 hours and 40 minutes long. This is one where you really start to notice the length. It's all pretty good, but I think it could be great, if it was a bit more tidied up.

Humans who chose to remain in the Matrix are seeing the takeover of their world by Neo-Nazis, and it turns out that there's a connection between them and people in the real, newly liberated, world, as humanity strives to adjust and a society gets formed.
Lots of leather will be worn, both in and out of the Matrix.
As part of the co-existence treaty with the machines, Neo can't just go all "Superman" in the Matrix, and he and Trinity have to go undercover and work subtly to change the path that the Matrix is on, as it starts deviating from being locked into the late 90s.
Think Man in the High Castle meets Inception, meets The Matrix, and Neo and Trinity wage a back and forth battle for the soul of the Matrix that has an impact on events back in the real world. In order to save their world in time, they must alter the timeline of The Matrix.
So a little bit like the TV show Continuum as well.
That's the rumor, or at least that's the rumor that I'm starting here, lol.

Legion - Season 1 (Bluray): A visually interesting and intricate puzzle with tons of awesome moments. Rewatched this because season 3 recently completed and I'm going through the previous seasons again to freshen up and because I really wanted to as well. This was the surprise hit for me a few years ago, making mutants interesting again.

As far as the new plot and the movie being like "Inception" movie, I'm guessing the "real world" in the Matrix was just another layer of the matrix and there's a true real world not yet revealed. That could explain how Neo gets his eyes/sight back. This seems the only way to go with the story, because it would be very limiting to continue the story with a blind Neo.

Mazinger SKL (Download): 3-part anime of the giant mecha Mazinger. Not as pretty as the more recent Mazinger Z but the action was plentiful and the story was simple enough to follow even if you don't really know anything about about the classic series that's been around since the '70s, which is nice because I've discovered a lot of these spinoff or sequels to classic anime properties aren't always as accessible to newbies.
The Empire of Corpses (Download): Steampunk anime set in the late 1800s that treats revived human corpses as robots. It's about the search for a soul. It has all these literary and historical figures in it but apart from the good visuals, I found it just a bit too anime, especially in the finale which goes a bit nuts with the steampunk technology. Sadly, not interesting enough to ever wanna rewatch...

I'd love for them to introduce some of the KOTOR2 type stuff into Star Wars. This kinda has that vibe.
