In the U.S., it can take that long just to build a small section of highway. I've read a recent article on this topic and how the U.S. has a huge infrastructure problem because it takes way too long to build things (and at too high of cost), vs many smaller nations & economies that build things quickly & efficiently. Then they pointed out Japan (despite being a larger, 1st world economy w/ high wages) doesn't have the infrastructure problem. Evidently, it's a U.S. phenomenon/problem. In its conclusion, the article blamed lower productivity compared to the past. Yeah, they actually mention that we once did have a golden age where shit got built quickly and solidly, which I found surprising (that they admitted this, due to the conclusions that this leads to). The obvious elephant in the room they didn't mention.. our increasing reliance on foreign, low cost labor for construction projects. Officially, construction wages are decent and about the same as Japan (and it can be true for individual workers, but we're talking averages here). Unofficially, much of the labor (especially in the southern states) is comprised of illegal immigrants who are being paid off the books (which translates to average wages looking higher than they actually are in the real world, not just on the books). I don't have any problem with immigrants coming here and working these jobs. More power to them. The real problem is with the state/govt and businesses who want to keep it hush-hush (even going so far as to shame and mis-label anyone as racist who dares talk about it) so that they can profit tremendously from cheap labor doing dangerous jobs. It's not even the workers fault for lower productivity, imo, since many of them don't speak English (naturally, it takes longer to communicate and relay what needs to get done). What bugs me is how they take advantage of undocumented immigrants, who aren't legally protected by workers rights laws and mostly lack the ability to speak up for themselves (due to language barriers), so that the billionaire tycoons can underpay them for dangerous jobs.

The ones hiring all these illegals and offshoring jobs are the (mostly) Republican businessmen. Some blame also goes to the Clintons with NAFTA but the tycoons were the ones advocating for it. On reddit and 4chan and elsewhere you see people blaming "soyboy cucks" and 20 year old SJW girls with green hair and a nose ring.....while simultaneously saying those people need to get jobs. Can't have both at once.

Can't have both at once. I'm not on those sites, but I've heard bad things and know to not bother with them. I don't even bother with comment sections on Youtube anymore because there's too much hate (coming from all sides) and it generates feelings of disgust. thegrio.com/2020/05/31/utah-man-bow-arrow-protesters/It seems that some peoples' IQ's are so low that they don't understand the basic premise... if you go looking for trouble, you'll probably find it.

ROFLWUT? Is that real? Did they actually just use a shot from a movie or is the MSNBC shot a mock-up?

Perhaps there's a lesson to be learned here. Big government (with power concentrated in the hands of a few or one) is all fine & dandy until the people you don't want in power get in power... then use that power in ways you don't like.
