I've hardly been playing any videogames whatsoever since I took up MTB'ing. I'll definitely play Cyberpunk 2077 when that comes out though, it looks great. Looks very much like Deus Ex. Hopefully it won't end up being Epic Games Store exclusive like a few other games I wanted this year. Also getting kind of tired of games being Epic Games Store exclusive, PC has always been its own platform but now these multiple storefronts are splitting the PC platform itself into multiple platforms. I was gonna buy Control on Steam but that one too is exclusive on Epic for 1 year. Guess I'll just have to wait until next year. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with Epic Games Store, it's just that I want to play games on Steam because it has in-home streaming for smart TV's in other rooms and as far as I can tell, no other of Steam's competitors have that yet. I read that Epic's working on some kind of streaming service for their store, but it doesn't mention if that means the games themselves will stream over the internet, or if that includes in-home streaming like Steam has. I was thinking of buying Control for the PS4. It received excellent reviews. However, some of the customer reviews said the performance is bad on PS4 and wait for the PC version. I think Sony plans on retiring the PS4 soon anyway because rumors say they will announce PS5 early 2020 and probably release in late 2020.

Yeah it's fun and getting me into shape too. I had been sick for a long time, always getting heartburn and always had a lack of energy. I went to the doctor and got treatment for what was wrong (ended up being an eroded esophagus but part of it was also psychological). That along with quitting smoking at the beginning of this year definitely helped. One day I woke up and felt completely better, like lightning struck me in my sleep and restored my spirit. I've been full of energy ever since, been jogging or biking almost every day of the week. I think I'm in better shape than I have ever been in my life. There's some fun trails around Dallas, the association in charge of them does a great job of maintaining them and keeping them safe: www.dorba.org - my favorite trail so far is Sister Grove, it looks and smells the nicest, very rural area that is far from city limits. I'm still definitely a beginner, but if I ever get good enough I don't think I'd mind traveling to other mountain bike trails some day. I heard there's some good ones in AR and OK. Nice! Yeah getting into exercise is always a good idea. Lifting weights and then biking for cardio is great. Its so much more fun then a treadmill. I'm spoiled having spent so many years biking in Alaska, its second to none in June/July. Also I think you said you tried Higan the SNES emulator and the Xbox One controller didn't work? My Xbox 360 controller died on me so I picked up the Xbox One controller. BSNES is basically the same thing as Higan and made by the same dude but it has more features for video and such whereas Higan is more bare bones. Has been a huge update to BSNES that adds a lot of new features like 1080p mode7 scaling and a built in cheat code library. Anyway my Xbox One controller works flawlessly with it bsnes.byuu.org/

I've been watching lots of MTB videos on youtube lately, seems like the further towards the mountains you go, the more scenic the trails are. There are not really any trails like that around here that I've seen, you have to drive a ways to get to decent/good ones. I'm sure there are some really good ones to the west, like at Big Bend National Park. There's another park in Glen Rose, TX called Dinosaur Valley that has a mountain bike trail. We used to go to the park as a family when I was a kid, it's a very scenic place and there's lots of fossilized dinosaur tracks and bones in places. I've heard their MTB trail is very rocky and recommended only for advanced riders. I eventually got my Xbox One controller working in Higan, there was a checkbox in the settings that had to be checked. I'll check out BSNES too, it sounds good. I have Snes9x EX+ on my phone, I use it along with my 8bitdo SNES controller via bluetooth, I've played a few games at work on slow days. Great thing to travel with too.

I have a pretty powerful gaming PC now, I don't think I'll need to upgrade anything in it for a while.

Finished Blood and Wine tonight and with that finally done with Witcher 3 besides sidequests. Game is finally off my damn backlog.
I got the bad ending a few days ago and I went back and got the good ending.
Not sure if I am gonna go back and do all the sidequests or not.
Very good game but the weak point is Geralt.

People call Blood and Wine the best DLC ever for any game. It is good but I don't know about best ever. One major plot hole that annoys me: {CLICK FOR SPOILER}I refuse to believe an ancient vampire like Dettlaff would act like a heart broken Emo 15 year old cuz some girl ghosts him. Give me a fucking break. Ancient all powerful magic creature goes insane over a bad breakup? Just no.

"Video games are the culprit. This guy could've had a perfectly normal life if not for violent video games." - public service message brought to you by the mainstream media and your elected officials (Rethugs and Demrats) in D.C.

That sounds like a good deal but they are Microsoft Store games and IIRC there are technical issues with them such as Vsync not working and limited video options. I could be talking out of my ass its been a long time since I read about it.

From a random comment online : And people bitch about the Epic Store being clunky, yeesh. SquareEnix is clunky & instrusive like that with FinalFantasy online games. You have to set up a SE account and somehow link it with PSN, Steam, etc. in order to get their online games up & running.

I never actually finished Bioshock 2 and I hear Minerva's Den is amazing:
Just saw it was on sale for $2.50 so I picked it up.

Don't ever play a drinking game where you have to drink when she gets called "Kid" in an episode of Dark Matter!
More Trivia: Dark Matter used to have her crawl around the conduits of ships and space stations a lot. Partly because her size made her the best candidate, but I have to think it was a tip of the hat to Bioshock 2, and Minerva's Den.

Loooong ass weekend and then a looong work day today. Finally getting time to relax.
So I fired up Batman Arkham City and realized I have actually played one of these games before but like 5+ years ago and never got very far. I torrented one I think just to check it out and then got distracted.
Realized Akham Asylum is the first in the series not city. Debating if I want to go back and start over on the first one or just stick with the middle one.
Happy to see it can easily be modded to having a good FOV and run at a solid 100 fps.

I think I beat Arkham Asylum. I played Arkham City but it would always put me to sleep although I thought it was a very good game (open world games tend to make me sleepy even if I am enjoying them). If you like that one, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and its sequel Shadow of War are very similar.

I bought GG Shinobi for $2 last week (digital download sale for the Nintendo 3DS). Surprisingly good platformer from the 8-bit era, originally on the Sega Game Gear (portable). The difficulty is high, but not punishingly so. As far as game-play & difficulty are concerned, it's damn near 2D side-scrolling perfection. imo, you don't start to fully appreciate it though until after you've beaten one stage and unlock one of the bonus ninjas (alternate playable character w/ different abilities).
Ironically, I beat the first stage last evening and Sega Lord X just published this video.

Finished the main quest of Arkham City, I was shocked how short it was after long ass Witcher 3. I might go back and do the sidequests not sure. I launched Arkham Knight and the graphics are way better. I remember it being so buggy at launch they pulled it off the market, came a long way.

I've been stuck at home because I cracked some ribs last time I went MTBing. I thought it was worse than it was, the first day after I got a 101 fever and got very drowsy, ended up sleeping all day. Also had crackly breathing on and off. I was afraid I had damaged some internal organs but I went to the doctor and got some Xrays, they said everything's fine and that I just need to recover now. Probably won't be able to ride for another 1-2 weeks. They also gave me a shitload of pain killers and muscle relaxers. Good time to try out some of these games I haven't played yet though. I've been looking at Middle-earth: Shadow of War. The biggest reason I haven't played this one yet is because I didn't have enough disk space to install it (takes up over 100 gigs). But now since I do, I might actually give it a try. I really enjoyed the one before it (Shadow of Morder), very fun game. It's too bad Epic is bribing publishers into not putting their games on Steam, the only effect that will have on me is that I won't be buying those games. I've already saved about $200 this year by passing on Epic Games Store.

I think part of it is having commuters who ride in the city and from that they transfer their hatred to all bikers even ones who only stick to the trails. Where I lived in Arizona I actually crashed once because some asshole put rocks around a blind corner and I hit them, luckily I just scraped up my arm. There used to be video of some fat dude intentionally putting rocks on a trail but I can't find it. You know, there's a trail around here I frequent and one time someone had put a huge branch right in the middle of the trail. I was still able to navigate over it, but I kept thinking that I thought someone had actually put it there intentionally. I moved it out of the way. Around here, 99% of the people I've come across on the trails are nice and show common courtesy. I've only had one incident where people were rude, it was these 3 fat women in spandex who refused to move on the trail, I had to go off of it to get around them. They were also saying stuff under their breath towards me and my bike, like they were afraid to actually say it to me. I could be wrong though, it's possible they were in fact admiring me and my bike. But that's horrible, what that Colorado Springs woman did, putting traps on the trail. It's ironic that one of the people hurt was an elderly man, that woman is also elderly. She probably set those traps thinking it would only hurt young people. The way I fell, I was going into a turn fast and put too much on my brakes. When I felt the bike start flipping over, time actually seemed to slow down for a moment before I hit the ground. There were some g-forces in that crash too. Also recently in Arlington (about an hour drive from here), a man was killed on a trail called River Legacy. There's not much info but it says he was going fast and crashed into a tree, when he fell he got impaled on a stump or branch on the ground. I was thinking that the way I fell, this could have easily happened to me if there'd been stuff like that on the ground. Thankfully, it was a smooth part of the trail.

I pulled them out and he was like "Dude that is a really nice bike" was back when I first got my Trek Superfly 5. Another day I was riding home in the bike lane, I was as far to the right as I could physically go, this woman pulls her car up so her tires are in the bike lane looks at me and gives me a weird look shakes her arms and her head at me and speeds off. She was about 300 pounds and looked like she was wearing a Muumuu or something. God I wish she would have pulled over and started shit with me it would have been a ton of fun to go off on her.

I think they're just mad that they can't ride a bike.
I used to be annoyed towards bike riders in the city, but since I took up biking myself, I see it differently now.

That's western society and privilege for you. It's same reason fat and/or ugly feminists get triggered so easily about gender and such, because they know they're ugly and can't compete with other females in the sexual marketplace. Basically, it's easier to for them to get triggered at every little thing other people are doing instead of looking at themselves (and do a little introspection about their own flaws). Or they're just lazy fucks, because losing weight requires work, and subsequently they mock others (out of spite) who do the work.

Been streaming Arkham Knight off and on. Technically it is a very impressive game, that said it feels like its too much. Its like a pizza with 40 toppings or cake with way too much frosting. It forces you into World of Tanks/GTA style battles just to progress the story. You have batman driving around smashing his tank into everything and even sections where you tear down walls of buildings with your tank. A bit over the top.
I prefer the more laid back style of Arkham City
