I don't do much gaming anymore due to outrageous work hours but I've actually been craving a new Star Wars game that wasn't stupid-assed multiplayer based (I loathe multiplayer only based games). It's normally against my religion to pre-purchase a game but you can pre-load it and I have a slow connection so I might just pre-purchase it tonight and start preloading it. Anyone else interested in this game?

I haven't read much about it. If you want a Star Wars game and you haven't played it I recommend KOTOR2 with the Restored content mod. Easily my favorite Star Wars thing ever.

Dark Forces and its sequel Jedi Knight are probably still my favorite Star Wars games of all time.

I don't feel like playing a game from 1972! You might not have the patience for its clunky UI & gameplay and somewhat old school RPG design. The stories are where KotOR shines. They're arguably better than the movies (other than the original trilogy, of course).

TLJ could've been good, even with all the plot holes and ignored laws of physics, if Rey chose the dark side. Hollywood's gone woke though, so I doubt we'll see many female super villains.

The toughest female super villain from any recent movie I've seen is probably Proxima Midnight. She's only defeated in battle when she's outnumbered (by superheroes) by at least 3 to 1 and, even then, she's barely overpowered by her adversaries. She isn't human though, so I guess her character passes the PC test.

The best written Star Wars character is Kreia from KOTOR2. If you finished KOTOR1 you could handle KOTOR2 since it has some UI improvements, the restored content mod is a must and can be installed with 1 click in the Steam workshop. This video about Kreia has almost 3 millions views and is 2 hours long but I actually sat and watched the whole thing. Massive spoilers for KOTOR2 obviously so I wouldn't recommend watching it if you are actually going to play the game:

Well I looked at a little of the initial gameplay footage on Youtube and it looked like a Star Wars themed Tomb Raider so I passed for now.

Speaking of Tomb Raider esque games, I played Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice on XGP and it's pretty good. It's about this Celtic (I think) warrior woman who has schizophrenia and is going on a journey to hell to bring back a loved one.
I rather like it, looks awesome and it is similar to Tomb Raider. Very difficult game too, you have limited life throughout the game and once it runs out, you die and lose all progress.

It looks pretty good, but I heard it's a very short campaign. Yep I was reading that it takes 18-20 hours to beat the campaign, I'm pretty sure I have at least twice that much playtime with The Outer Worlds. I'll wait for Jedi Fallen Order to be on sale, hopefully it will come to Xbox Game Pass.

Somebody replied that she's the lamest character in the game. Not sure why they thought that... ageism I guess. lol Her character dialogue was interesting. She reminded me of the Stygian witches from Clash of the Titans. Never seen Clash of the Titans might have to watch it. I didn't play any of the KOTOR games till I think 2014 or 15. Waaaay back in 2003 one of my IRL friends went on and on about how good KOTOR was but I never got around to trying it. The plot twist at the end was good but other then that I wasn't that impressed with the story TBH. I also got to experience KOTOR2 with the restored content mod for my first playthrough which restores a ton of story which I think explains why a lot of people weren't that impressed with it on release. After it was over I watched a ton of Youtube videos about it and it actually made me a bigger Star Wars fan. I didn't realize Chris Avellone wrote and designed it.

There was a remake in 2010, which was a mediocre movie. The original from 1981 has the Stygian witches, more interesting atmosphere & sets (despite the primitive special effects at that time), and better reviews. It's probably considered a cult classic by many people.

Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...................................................... Has anyone got Fallen Order? Is it any good/fun? This game is still going for full retail and it's supposedly low on content. EA is behind this game, arguably the most hated game developer/publisher. Given their track record, it's an easy bet that they plan on releasing a major DLC after they've reached their sales targets (at full retail price). I'd wait for a major DLC (new missions/levels) and/or a 50% off sale.

Well I picked it up for 50% off. I was 100% right, it's basically a Jedi themed Tomb Raider, lol. The graphics are OK but the colors look too cartoony/oversaturated! I wish games went for more photo realistic than the animated cartoon look. I'm only at the second planet but so far it's just OK. I'd say it's worth half price. I think Horizon Zero Dawn was better technically - farther view/distant detail and more fun fighting mechanics with all the different weapons/approaches. Just having a light saber makes for kind of boring and repetitive fighting. I like how you had so many different ways to attack enemies in Zero Dawn. But I have something new to play. I think this is the first time ever a game automatically set all settings to max...heh. 2080Ti powa!

It's definitely Tomb Raider esque but I do like Tomb Raider. At the very beginning, I noticed the song playing might've also been in KotOR I, think it's the same song when aboard the Ebon Hawk.
*edit* The first part I got to that I really hated, you have to slow down these cycling platforms using your force power and then walk across them while they're slowed. There were some tough fights in between, and every time I died I had to go back to the very beginning of it (I'm playing on a higher difficulty too). It wasn't very long but still lasted longer than it should have and I didn't enjoy it one bit. Still liking the story and characters so far, combat definitely gets better once you unlock more moves and abilities.
The combat kinda is reminding me more of Batman:Arkham City or even moreseo, Shadow of Mordor, except with a lightsaber and force powers. I remember before the game was released, I read an article talking about how they consulted a lot with LucasFilm to get the lightsaber combat right.
I'm thinking about pre-ordering Squadrons, it's only $40.

Got to the first really tough bossfight so far, I'm not sure how many tries it took but I think it was 90 minutes before I finally won.

I've been playing for at least 30 hours, can't say I've done absolutely everything but I've done lots of exploring and even went through an entire area of the game which is kind of hidden (a wrecked Venator Star Destroyer). Some of the level design feels lazy at times, especially on the last few planets. There's also a few annoying glitches that got me killed a few times. There's some places where you have to slide down these huge downhill areas, squeeze through narrow openings, and/or run along walls which are common cliche in these types of action/adventure games. Overall, I think it's a very good game but definitely not perfect. Much of the gameplay actually reminded me of that Unreal Engine 5 demo they showed recently, the game does use UE4 engine.
I'm pretty sure I am very close to completing it now but I have seen a LOT of complaints and bashing of this game concerning the length, people saying they beat it in 3 or 4 hours. I even saw someone call the game "artificially lengthened" whatever that means. If someone speed-runs a game and completes it without exploring, then that's on them. Half-Life 2 takes quite a few hours to beat on average, but there's youtube videos of people doing it in 40-50 minutes.

I got like an hour into Fallen Order and got distracted by something else I didn't initially get distracted, I just wasn't caring too much about the game from the start. It does a poor job from the beginning capturing you because the gameplay seems overly easy and simplified being able to just mindlessly hack and slash and block and deflect laser shots back at the enemy with pinpoint accuracy with pretty much no skill but later in the game the bosses really take some timing and skill to defeat and the one boss was one of the hardest bosses I've ever encountered in a game before and the scenery gets better as the game progresses. It's kinda the opposite of Brutal Legend where the ten minute demo really captured you then after that point in the full game you where like...wut...
