In some his older videos from many years ago, Clarey said it's about 1 in 100 chance of finding a good, relationship material woman (paraphrasing). It's possible that he's out of touch now with the modern dating because he's had a steady gf for years and he's forgotten what it's like trying to find a good one. That or he's playing dumb to simp for his gf (who probably watches his videos). Men in relationships tend to modify their thoughts & words in order to stay in their woman's good graces.

Personally, I like women. I can't argue with his advise. Worked well enough for me when I saw the red flags and ghosted (less arguing/drama and she goes away faster).

He wasn't alone there is a whole movement of dudes who just spend all day everyday ranting and raving about how women are just ruining everything. I saw GamerGate develop in the wild back when I used to still use 4chan that is where that website made a turn to the hard right.

Before the rise of Discord and Reddit, 4chan was the place to go for any kind of computer nerd/computer game culture. I used to use it pretty heavily. If you have ever seen Fight Club that is what the culture was like. More of a leftist libertarian kinda vibe. They even have "Project Mayhem" type stuff taken from the movie.

Around 2013/2014 is where you saw them making fun of Tumblr girls being triggered and overly sensitive about silly crap. This is the first time I heard people using the term "SJW". I was still pretty active but my interest started to wane as I migrated more to Reddit, I still checked 4chan from time to time but I didn't really post.

4chan's creator sold the site in 2015 and he was also careful to shutdown any kind of massive botspam or overt nazi/white nationalist spam. After it was sold this stopped happening. This set the stage for 2016.

2016 with the rise of Trumpspam is where there was a huge change on 4chan. There was always racism there but then the bots came in. Every. Single. Thread. on 4chan had Trump spam in it, 4chan has a filter so you can't repost the same image over and over so they would just change 1 pixel of an image of Trump and report it over and over and over again. Wanna talk about videogames? Trumpspam. Wanna talk about movies? Trumpspam. Every single thread had Trumpspam in it.

Steve Bannon said they were targeting gamers so maybe his people were paying for the Trumpspam? I'm not sure.

This effectively killed the culture of the site and it has never been the same. When I go check it now its just a shadow of what it used to be.

You are right in my case, but I know people big into 4chan in 2016 who became big Trump supporters and I am convinced it was seeing him spammed over and over as "God Emperor Trump" was a big part of why.

QAnon also sprung up from there at the same time. At that point I was almost never on. These days I check 4chan maybe once every 6 months out of curiosity. It peaked in 2008/2009 imo.

It appears SJ deleted his account. I have no idea why. The forum is kinda small so I imagine it gets boring talking to the same people over and over. I know a few people on Steam who read this forum but don't post.

I've been going biking almost everyday after work, then when I get home I try to keep up with the reddit I moderate, after that have just enough time to maybe play games and watch YouTube. I try and make sure I check in here at least once a day everyday when I am at work to make sure no spam or anything else but I'm certainly not crazy active here.
