I think age has definitely effected my desire to monkey spank...lol. Still into games ATM (it's cold outside!) Love being immersed and escaping into a fantasy adventure! Sounds like you live in the northern states. Well, that's your choice. Luckily, you live in a country with diverse geography and climates, so you could change that aspect of your life if you wanted. I don't like cold climates either, and I'm not into snow skiing and the like. I've lived in Ohio a while ago for a few years, while attending college, so I know what that's like. I moved back to TX after college, then TN. In TN, the highs have been in the 60's (Fahrenheit) for most of this month.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining! (Yes northern state - New Jersey!) The winter is great for me because it gives me time off work (seasonal job) and allows my body to recover from working long hours outdoor construction all summer! School may be out for the summer, but for me, work is out for the winter! Up.. All.. Night.., Sleep.. All.. Day..! It's like being semi retired my entire life, heh. Not having any time to really get into a game during the summer months (work hours, outdoor hobbies, etc) and having a seasonal job that lays me off for the winter, I totally embrace the cold! It's kinda cool living where you have hot summers and cold winters because that allows me to shift from one set of hobbies to the other depending on the season so that I never get bored of everything! If I could ride my Jet Ski all year around, or go to the beach/boardwalk all year around, amusement parks etc. I'd probably get bored of it hehe. Now I can finally have time to enjoy my home theater system, games, music, and maybe a little happy hour with the tube of GoJo, lol.

I would've figured that you're an electrician with all those arcade cabinets you've built/restored. That's something you might consider getting into if you want more work, since electricians are busy year 'round. I called 5 or 6 electricians one winter, a couple of years ago, to do work on my parent's house. They were all too busy/booked with clients to come out and do an estimate, except one. It's one of those recession proof jobs, because it can't be outsourced and it's dangerous enough that most ppl don't want to do the work themselves.

I thought about being a lineman for the IBEW, in Alaska it is an amazing gig, $150,000 in your early 20s is possible. However, this requires you to get on a plane, fly in the middle of nowhere in December in Alaska and work on utility poles in the middle of nowhere. It can be pretty brutal work as you can imagine. I decided that lifestyle wasn't for me. Also you might think you can drop out of high school and go do that but they can afford to be very choosy, getting in with the IBEW up there is kinda like getting into the Ivy League.

Also when it comes to age and games I have different priorities. When I was a teen I prided myself on not using guides for certain games. I would spend hours in games like Thief finding every single piece of loot. There are so many thing vying for attention now that I have different priorities. I'm playing through Dishonored again for the first time since about 2013 and I couldn't imagine scouring every single level for every piece of loot just for a Steam achievement.

My younger brother, living in Ohio, works construction and he makes $25/hr. In Texas, they hire migrants to do construction jobs (or at least, they used to... not sure about now with you know who as Pres). Not sure what they got paid, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were cents on the dollar. No sh!t Americans don't want jobs that pay a fraction of what they used to (or still do, depending on geography). lol Edit: The IBEW gig is probably dangerous work, like working on oil rigs is dangerous and there's high risk of lawsuits due to mistakes & accidents. Similar situation with medical doctors... they don't want to risk malpractice & expensive lawsuits. Therefore, quality > quantity and it's hard to break into these sort of careers.

I used to think that I was losing interest in games because of my age (I'm 37) but it turns out that I haven't lost it at all. Just has to be a good game.
I'm actually thinking about playing through KotOR 2 again, the version on Steam got an update a while back that added 4K and controller support. Looks even better with mods.
