www.maple-films.com/rogue-one-faneditA group of people out there edited Rogue One into a 50 minute cut, added an opening crawl and put in classic Star Wars sounds and music from the original films. They also put in "wipe" transitions like the classic Star Wars films had. I found it to be hit or miss to be honest, it works great in some places but other times the music just doesn't really fit. I think they did a great job though.

If you had asked me if these "features" (such as "wipe" transitions) were included in the original unedited film, right after I watched it, I honestly can't say that I would have remembered. I doubt that it would've impacted my enjoyment of the movie (with or without the edits).
Well, except the sound & music edits, because old audio recordings do often have noticeably lower acoustic quality and the music is distinct/different enough to remember (of course, it's still great regardless of age).
