At work there was a leak last weak and a few drops apparently fell onto/into a monitor and now there's a cluster of broken pixels at the bottom. It used to be a few centimeters wide and about half a centimeter high but through 'massaging' that area with my fingertip, I managed to fire most of them up again. Now there's only a sliver of black right at the bottom where I can't put enough pressure, surrounded by some off-colour pixels. Pushing there again can make more turn off (and back on), almost like the bars on an equalizer...
How's that for a monitor story?

Was anyone surprised Cop's monitor story included fingering?

Remember when this thread was about that new Nintendo console? Me neither... Of course. Who takes Nintendo seriously anymore other than die-hard fanboys and children? This thread would be dead already if I didn't change topics. Sincere apologies.

Monitors are serious business. Indeed. Today, I set up the Samsung 34" curved widescreen & VA panel (replaced the Acer 34" widescreen - IPS panel w/ backlight bleed issues). Monitor: Samsung CF791 Series 34-Inch Curved Widescreen Monitor (C34F791) Early/quick review: Good image quality (excellent black levels & contrast). Viewing angles not great. However, this is not an issue if you always sit/stand directly in front of the monitor. Shitty stand, the worst I've seen! The Acer 34" Predator had an excellent solid/metal, albeit huge, stand. Sit-stand desktop workstation: Ergotron WorkFit-TL, Sit-Stand Desktop Workstation, Black (33-406-085) This is very solid sit-stand workstation when used with a monitor that has decent stand... the Samsung 34" curved widescreen and its cheap stand simply wobbles w/ the slightest of movements. True fact, because the 32" HDTV I had on the workstation previously did not wobble. Monitor arm/stand replacement (accessory designed for the above sit-stand workstation): Ergotron WorkFit Single HD Monitor Kit (97-906) Just ordered today, so will post a quick review later. Hopefully, this fixes the wobbly monitor issue.
