Wow. How embarrassing for this kid. Something tells me he's not a complete idiot. Clearly, he's ignorant about PC builds and tech in general. But he can at least articulate what he's thinking and he's not delusional (he's just making shit up as he goes along). imo, he really wanted that paycheck and wasn't as concerned about the humiliation that would follow, so he foolishly adopted the "fake it 'til you make it" strategy... Usually a bad idea, unless you're a superb salesman, master bullshitter who knows when your audience is less knowledgeable than you are and only enter BS mode under circumstances that work in your favor (kinda like my brother-in-law). Well, he's young (possibly still in High School) and didn't contemplate how damaging his reputation can hurt his career prospects in the future. The criticism and public humiliation should provide a valuable lesson.

The criticism and public humiliation should provide a valuable lesson. Apparently he was let go from The Verge dunno if it was because of the video. He did say on twitch that a bunch of "angry nerds" were harassing him which dug the hole a bit more. 10 years from now dunno if it will effect his job prospects or not.

He has alot of nerve calling people nerds, because he's most certainly a geek himself. However, he's the type of geek who not only lacks decent tech skills, but also lacks common sense to such an absurd degree that he makes shit up on the fly. His level of arrogance while showing no concern or emotion over valid criticism is a sign of narcissistic personality disorder.

His level of arrogance while showing no concern or emotion over valid criticism is a sign of narcissistic personality disorder. You may be right about that but there is this trend going on online where everyone who is a douchebag or an asshole is labeled as having NPD or a psychopath or both.

I don't need a new phone at all but these Asus phones are tempting and I don't even play games. The S9+ I am on has a 3500 ma battery and the ROG has a massive 6000 ma battery and it still keeps the headphone jack.
This time next year when the ROG 3 ships I might pick it up, I hope they don't drop the headphone jack

I just think his inability to recognize valid criticism and insist that he's better (i.e. he built a better PC than those "nerds" ever had) is a sign of NPD. A good psychologist would need to work with him for a while to determine if he actually has a mental illness or disorder.

They credit China as the reason for solar panels becoming so cheap. Do they mention the high toxicity and low durability (as little as 5 years) of the solar panels coming out of China? Not a great investment when you factor in the cost of poisoning your environment, imo.

Do they mention the high toxicity and low durability (as little as 5 years) of the solar panels coming out of China? I started watching that video wondering what his point was then I was like oh, nuclear and Thorium, yep he is correct that nuclear power is great and Thorium might be part of that. I am not a nuclear scientist but I read a blog post once from someone explaining why large scale Thorium isn't a thing and it was pretty convincing, just as convincing as the people promoting it. Thats the problem with promoters and detractors arguing about what should be when it comes to things like Thorium reactors. Its hard to know whats right to a laymen. That said tho the "little as 5 years" thing is disingenuous. No statistics to back it up from what I see. Stuff breaks from time to time. Back when I was just finishing college a friend of a friend got a new Subaru which were all the rage in Alaska and it ended up with some kind of serious engine problem at like 11,000 miles. He had a full warranty but still. Could you imagine having your car break down at 11,000 miles? I would be pissed. So should he hang outside a Subaru dealership and hand out fliers saying "Yo these cars break down in as little as 11,000 miles! Don't buy Subaru!"

Apples and oranges. Subaru has been selling cars in the U.S. market for decades. They have a reputation and brand recognition.
Solar panels from China is very young industry and time will tell if the current solar panels they're selling are reliable (I won't hold my breath on that one). Toxicity of these panels can easily be verified with lab tests. Not something you can really get away with or lie about.

I don't see why anyone would find it that shocking. China has been selling toxic products for decades. They had to ban toys for containing lead pet... pet food, baby formula, etc. One article I read said they tested a Chinese made cheese grater and found it contained radioactive metal. lol

The thumbnail of that video brings up an interesting point of contention. One thing the left forgets (or conveniently overlooks) is that many of these billionaires are self-proclaimed Democrats. Also, Republicans haven't had a monopoly on power. The "trickle down" diarrhea and top 400 richest paying less taxes than everybody else happened because both the Democrats and Republicans pushed those policies forward. Before you're tempted to call that point into question, research what Obama did while he was in office regarding corporate taxes and pushing for things like TPP, which is globalist and great for corporations but at the expense of American jobs.

It used to be anyone in a black skimask was "antifa" now apparently anyone that protests is "antifa" even tho the uploader hasn't shown any evidence that these people are "antifa"

It used to be anyone in a black skimask was "antifa" now apparently anyone that protests is "antifa" even tho the uploader hasn't shown any evidence that these people are "antifa" My money's on them actually being antifa. What gives it away is that they're blocking traffic, creating a dangerous situation, breaking the law, and the police are doing NOTHING. I've read that the police are given stand down orders (by Mayor/s) specifically involving Antifa (in cities such as Portland). In these places, besides the authorities, only Antifa are officially permitted to block traffic in this manner (I use the term "officially" loosely, but it is official by proxy of the stand down orders). However, the police are allowed to disperse other groups of protesters, especially if they're known extremists/terrorists who routinely engage in disorderly conduct and violence (such as randomly attacking the elderly, which Antifa have been video taped doing). I don't know what the deal is with Antifa having special protections tho. Perhaps their political orientation or perhaps that they've stormed the Mayor's office with threats violence..
