Every Halloween I tend to stream the Silent Hill games the last few years. I've played the first 4 games so many times decided to try Silent Hill Homecoming.
Most Silent Hill fans will tell you that Homecoming is where the series jumped the shark and died completely. I actually bought it on release way back in 2009 and played it on my roommates Xbox 360 because the PC port wasn't out yet. Its not the worst game ever made but for sure it doesn't reach the levels of the first 4. The problem is they just throw in a bunch of fan service and there isn't a lot of rhyme or reason for anything that happens. At one point you literally just have to wander around with no directions and click on shit till you figure out what to do next like you are playing Myst or something but there are no clues.
Since its been 10 years I decided to play it again but the PC port is a notoriously horrible afterthought that will do things like crash if you alt-tab. There are a couple of fan patches that fix a ton of issues. I tried both of them but for some reason I can't save my game. It will save but when I load it takes me right back to the very beginning. Meh. Not really worth my time to mess with it anymore.
Got Visage on steam hear a lot of good things about it.

Something really awesome happened in The Outer Worlds just now, my follower actually shouted to me "on your right!" It actually saved my life. This game is now a 9/10 for me just for that.

I found out tonight on accident that if you go to the character options in Outer Worlds you can customize the AI of your companions and make them walk closer to you and such.

I'll have to check that out some more, I saw it but didn't mess with it much.
Also finally botched a quest, I pissed off Spacer's Choice right at the beginning and had forgotten about it. Returned to complete a sidequest (finding a book for the vicar guy), the whole town was pissed at me and attacked so I had to kill them all. Also it seems like there are no essential NPC's, you can attack and kill ANYONE in this game.
*edit* That reminds me, they seriously need to improve the quest markers in this game. Currently, you can only select one active quest at a time instead of multiple ones. I'm sure they'll fix it, but that is one of the most glaring shortcomings of this game so far.

Yes the quest markers and the entire quest system are shit in this game. I spent last night finishing a whole planet and I kept having to double check the quest screen over and over its an awful system.
Also I didn't botch a quest but I got a less then stellar ending for a planet. There are two sides jockeying for position and I tried to get them to work together. I asked one side to please play nice and they said yes, I asked the other side they didn't trust me so I ended up having to kill them all.

So I got my first 100 required persuasion check, I'm getting to the point where I am having to choose sides more and more. Dunno how close I am to the end of the game but I'm getting pretty deep into it.
I went with SAM and Felix as my companions. I have Felix running a heavy machine gun and a helmet that does +25% creature damage since there are so many creature boss monsters. Making short work of them now.

Haven't gotten anything to 100 yet, I guess that happens later. I don't think this game has sneak attack, sometimes it seems like it's there but I'm not sure.
No Felix for me yet, so far my only followers are Parvati, SAM, and Nyoka. I found out that if I hadn't killed Vicar Max, he would have been a follower. I kinda feel bad about killing him.
One more thing, the whole map system and inventory overall sucks, that all needs improvement. It's a pain in the ass to have navigate through the same screen over and over when trying to access the journal or map, they need to improve how easy it is to access those, or maybe combine the journal and map into one screen like they should've done in the first place. I think I'm gonna send them feedback on it.

I was sitting at like 36 weapons for a long time, then I noticed if you have 40 in weapons it gives you 50% bonus crit damage. I was 4 points off for half of the damn game. Doh. Vicar Max probably has the best personality of all of the companions, his quest takes you all over the place. I'm still missing a companion I googled it and you pick her up in a building I just never went too in the main city.

If I had done Vicar Max's quest first, he would have survived. Oh well, next game I will know.

Finished the game. If you have 100 lockpicking and 100 hack you can completely neutralize the final boss.
I got a sniper rifle and added an N-damage mod and figured it was "good enough" till I got the really good guns but it turned out to be my main weapon to the end of the game.
I started a new game on supernova difficulty doing melee and defense a "dumb" play through without such high hacking and such. Thing is it is a major pain in the ass to have to run back to your ship to save. Not sure if I have the patience to start the game over again right away.
Its a solid game but not as good as the Fallouts or Mass Effect, if people like this they need to try Mass Effect 2 which is one of the best games ever made.

Red Dead Redemption 2 unlocks at midnite for PC. Haven't made up my mind if I want to get it or not. This is Rockstar so it will probably won't be on sale for a while. Never played the original but it looks really fun.

There's been a lot of issues reported with RDR2 on PC, I'm glad I didn't pre-order or buy it yet. Gonna wait for a few patches maybe.

I'm taking my time playing through, just now opened up Byzantium on Terra 2. I was trying to do Parvati's sidequest and it kept saying to buy her a dress in Byzantium, which it turned out the main quest had to be advanced for that to open up. One of the nicer areas of the game I've seen so far. I'm going for guns, tech, and stealth. I like how you can respec any time you want, it's cheap too. Money is very easy to obtain in this game.

I think I've gotten to near the end of The Outer Worlds but I still have lots of uncompleted sidequests. Also I only have 3 companions out of 6, I know one of them (Max) is dead but I can't seem to find the other 2 (seems to be Ellie and Felix). They seem to be on the Groundbreaker, which I have been everywhere on but haven't run into them yet somehow. Might do that before I go on the "point of no return" part.
I'm actually thinking about starting a whole new game and making sure I don't make mistakes like I did on this playthrough. I kinda want to try the highest difficulty too.

SAM does the highest damage which is why I brought him pretty much everywhere and Felix has the 2nd highest dmg. I got Ellie before the end and tried to talk to her as much as I could but I guess it was too late in the game to do her quest, I picked her up right before the point of no return.

I had 40,000 bits and spent nearly all of them to tweak my favorite weapons, it left me with around 300. Already back up to 8,000 after just 5-10 minutes or so.
My favorite weapon so far is the Auto-Mag Ultra, I modified it with plasma damage, more accurate sight and barrel that adds more critical damage. It reminds me of the gun that Captain Reynolds in that show Firefly has, looks a lot like it. Parvati also reminds me of Kaylee from that show, talks a lot like her and is also a mechanic. Also this game reminds me a lot of that show, the ship even looks a little bit similar. I also heard a very good Star Wars reference during the sidequest for the Distress Signal, that was pretty funny.
I'm now doing all the sidequests, which it turns out I botched a few of them by pissing off The Board. I can't even walk through Byzantium anymore, all of the guards and shopkeepers attacked me on sight and I killed them all. Sidequests should definitely be done before going through the main quest and making certain decisions.
*edit* Also found out you can fast travel while in a moving elevator, thought that was interesting.
*edit 2* LOL the Mind Control Ray actually made me laugh out loud. When you use it on an enemy, you have to hold down the fire button and it plays this weird music that gets faster and faster the longer you hold it on an enemy. It's funny, because it basically keeps the targeted enemy from being able to do anything, and they attack other enemy units or just stand there helplessly while your followers shoot them up. It uses energy cells which I have a ton of because I hardly used any energy weapons all game.
Beat it, I guess it had a good ending. From the beginning, I was just focused on being against the corporate goon types.
I'm doing my 2nd playthrough on the highest difficulty (Supernova), already at the beginning I feel like it really adds to the game. There's no autosaving and If you die, it can set you back. I am enjoying the extra challenge though. Right at the beginning, Parvati died in combat.

I'm doing my 2nd playthrough on Supernova difficulty and my follower keeps charging directly into the enemy instead of staying close to me like I set on their behavior page. I also have them set to ranged but they still for some reason have to run all the way up to the face of the enemy to attack them. The description on Supernova difficulty didn't lie, your followers do indeed die in combat and they seem to want to die too.
*edit* Even though it's a pain, it really added something to the game, I actually find myself running into the line of fire to keep my follower alive, but now that I have more ammo I am just running and gunning using that time slow ability a lot, I've gotten through several encounters just doing that. I'm trying to do the quest to get the book for Max and I've died I don't know how many times, finally made it to where the objective is.

I'm curious about this game, it's a surprise that it's on Steam I was pretty sure that it was going to be Playstation exclusive. Since they took the time to put it on PC, that makes me even more inclined to buy it. Just played a lot of ABZU on Xbox Game Pass, still not sure what the objective of this game is but it has very breathtaking scenery and music. If I see this game cheap, I might buy it just to have in my collection. It's leaving XGP on 11/30. *edit* Just beat it, took around 2 hours maybe. All in all I like it, I think it was worth playing.

You are Norman Reedus with a fetus delivering packages in the Lost universe while you make bombs out of out piss, shit, and shower water. What's not to love?

Can't say I've ever heard of a game with that kind of description, makes it even more intriguing.
Still playing The Outer Worlds on Supernova difficulty, quests are so much more challenging, dying during a quest is such a setback. Also gave my follower a sniper rifle but they are STILL charging right into the faces of the enemy with it. It didn't seem so important to command followers in normal difficulty but it's crucial to keeping them alive on the highest difficulty. Great game all around, not perfect (also where the hell are grenades?) but it doesn't really matter.

I decided to try Rage 2 on a whim and I am pleasantly surprised. I went into it with absolutely no expectations since I never made it more then an hour or so into Rage 1 and I don't even remember the story. The graphics are great, better then Outer Worlds, has that solid id Software polish to the engine. Maybe its just me but I think they did something weird with the zoom in the game. If you scope in with a rifle there is some kind of weird mouse accel or something that turns on that makes me overshoot targets no matter what I do with my sens. Its hard to describe.
Other then that it made a great first impression.

RAGE 2 isn't bad at all, much better than the first one already.
I finished the first one a long time ago, I didn't think it was all that bad but it felt like a game that was put together with a cookie cutter. I.E. small levels, some with shooting and some with driving and they didn't really fit together. Also they were always advertising that John Goodman voiced a character in it, but he was around for maybe 2 minutes out of the entire game.
One game I've been playing a lot is the first Gears of War (remastered), that is one of my all-time favorite games. I tried Gears 5 but didn't like it all that much, it feels like a cheap version of this game.

I think I posted earlier in the thread that I never played much Gears, just a bit of coop on the couch with some friends 10+ years ago.
There are a bunch of people saying Gears 5 is trash but I haven't played enough of the series to notice any issues with it. On Ultra the lighting is amazing for sure, might be the best I have ever seen in a game.

Decided to try Halo Reach on Game Pass. I haven't played much Halo since I'm not much of a console person. Just a few coop and DM games with friends 10+ years ago on Xbox.
Its 9 years old so even with the remastered graphics it still looks old, has unlimited FPS cap tho which is nice. Only made it a couple hours in. It basically is just like Halo 1 but with some Cod influences. Not bad but not amazing. One seriously annoying thing is you cannot ADS the main plasma rifle. You can zoom in with it and not shoot.
I get that guns need to be balanced but having your bread and butter weapon not be able to zoom and shoot is annoying. I'm sure there is a mod for it if you google it but I didn't take the time to look.
