www.pcgamer.com/samsung-tvs-have-a-new-steam-link-streaming-app-that-works-shockingly-well/Valve and Samsung worked together to make a Steam Link app that can be downloaded for free and the regular Steam Link hardware is not required. AFAIK it is only for 2016 and newer Samsung smart TV's. I happen to have a Samsung 4K smart TV and found the app on it. After enabling in-home streaming in Steam's options and powering the TV on/off a few times it works like a charm. It actually looks higher resolution on the TV via network streaming than on my 1080p monitor, so I think the TV actually might actually be upscaling it. Aside from the Steam Controller the app only supports Xbox One controller wired but does support Xbox360 controller both wired and wireless. I was actually thinking about getting get an Nvidia Shield, but this app works so well that I'm not even gonna bother.
